    • The room was what I expected with a good bed and shower. Breakfast selection is okay.

    Cons -

    • Confusing check-in experience where one needs to figure-out that they must check-in at Ibis hotel (next door building) and not the budget one. Then, comes 3 codes to remember (Big gate, building door and room door). Room was small with neon like lights that took a minute to turn on. Window that could not be open due to "security reasons". My sink's tap had no water. Reception explained that there should have been a "memo" and they apologize. But problem could not be solved, so I had to use shower hose to brush my teeth.
    • I know I did select it, but for a pilgrim it’s a bit far from the town. No problem with a car.
    • We were told that we had to pay for 1 on of our two rooms that we booked via booking.com. Only by remembering that I paid for both and showing the payment, we avoided this payment.

We were lucky, with our electric car a charger was available for the night. It would be nice to be able to reserve the charger.

    8EduardPosted on: 2-17-2025

Staff was friendly and rooms very clean. It was quiet during our stay (1 day). We also enjoyed charging our car at the hotel.

We were told that we had to pay for 1 on of our two rooms that we booked via booking.com. Only by remembering that I paid for both and showing the payment, we avoided this payment.

Location fantastic. Friendly hotel. Typical continental breakfast, however tasty.

    7NikolausPosted on: 12-31-2024

friendly staff and bar open, and nicely decorated.

all excellent, except the bed sheets that weren't laid out properly and a bad smell coming from the toilettes, possibly coming from the ventilation

    10CherylPosted on: 12-14-2024

Spotlessly clean, (but make sure you have all your own amenities there is nothing supplied), close to main city centre and local Action shop to pick up any little things you need. Great value for money! Good breakfast selection too! Real value for money!

For a budget hotel it's very good !Staff happily talking English too.Shower hot water in 3 secondsShower cabin bigger than most expensive hotels.Typical French breakfast Simple but very good room.Exceeded my expectations. The view to the mountains from 4th floor is very beautiful Visit the Chapelle d' Esperance if you go here. It's such a beautiful place. ( closed but you can see inside through the door fence )

A cleaning staff employee entered my room when I not check out yet and sitting on my bed. Please be sure a room has been left and guest has checkout !

Comfortable bed.Aircon on and room at good temperature when we arrived

Reception closed for the day so checked in by next door upmarket ibis. Warm welcoming reception Standard budget ibis room. Good value. Clean. Comfortable bed and linens Wifi fast and stable Location good for car folk. Suburbia with large supermarket next door. By foot 30 min to train.

The room was like a fridge. Air conditioner was on full blast arctic. Turned it off. But would keep turning on automatically. Would come back and find it on again. Then turned on automatically in morning. This is a waste of power. And not everyone wants to live in a freezer. The budget ibis had no staff on site to help. Fortunately the kind staff at the other ibis gave me a fan heater to warm the room up so I didn’t need a puffer jacket.

Good value for money. Secure place to store bikes. Restaurant on adjacent Ibis Hotel handy. Good breakfast. Good location for bike tour we were doing.

    Nothing to mention

    New and clean room.

Location in the outskirts of town. No coffee at the vending machine.

    9JoePosted on: 10-5-2023

Solid hotel where the standard of service is pretty good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Location just outside the town centre was good for us.

A little difficult to find the main reception desk.

    9HandscombPosted on: 10-2-2023

The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and despite being located close to the aerodrome, it was very quiet. There are several excellent restaurants nearby, including a brilliant bakery which was a short walk away for freshly baked breakfast croissants. Nearby is a huge Hyper U hypermarket and an Intermarche. The town centre is a short walk away and well worth a visit, especially if you are interested in Comte and Mont d'or cheese. We will certainly stay at the Ibis budget again when next in Pontalier. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is cold beer available in the hotel bar (next door to the Ibis budget) and the parking is secure. Best of all is the French sense of humour. The Ibis budget boasts a gym in the form of a "Parcours" where you can practice air boxing, jumping jacks, running on the spot (for warming up) squats and crab walking. In fact, the "gym" is what most people know otherwise as the stairs. Brilliant!

Didn't like the restrictions opening the window. Would have liked it to have opened more and had insect protection net added to stop any bugs flying into the room.

    6FlorentinaPosted on: 9-3-2023

It was close to the border with Switzerland

The child mattress was dirty full of hair from other visitors. The mattress protector wasn’t clean. The mattress from the main bed was hard and not comfortable I woke up with a back ache.

    Leaving

Rude staff, depressing location, room felt like a prison cell

    10BernardPosted on: 8-25-2023

Well, first of all it's a budget Ibis. When in transit, quite perfect, good value for the money. Free parking, wifi excellent. Regular Ibis next door where you can have a meal.
