Wonderful small hotel by the old gate. Just steps away from the old town. Hotel staff so helpful and friendly. Room was spotless.

The front desk staff was super helpful and efficient. Breakfast was okay for $16. But the location was great... very close to the University of Basel! I would return to this hotel.

It would have been nice to have 24 hour front desk service. My housekeeper did not leave enough toilet tissue and towels some nights so I needed the front desk to be available.

Hotel Spalentor was our favorite hotel during our multi city trip! The beds and pillows were the most comfortable. The breakfast spread was extensive. The staff was very helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Although their website suggests they offer laundry services and they have laundry bags in the room, they do not have any laundry facilities nor offer services on site. However, they recommended a laundry service just three stops away by bus. It was very easy to get to, and they handle your clothes while you enjoy your day. It worked out great.

The staff was very friendly, the room had everything you need, everything clean. It is close to the center of the town just a few minutes walk, 10+

Lovely staff, lovely large room, choice of pillows. Fabulous location

Excellent choices of foods. Staff was there quickly to get you anything or take away dishes when you were finished.

The shower. Water sprayed everywhere.

Our room was spacious and clean, beds and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was good and had lots of options.Lotion was near most attractions and there is bus station across the street in case you wish to use public transport.

Love the location, right across the street from a great tram stop.

The charge for the “breakfast “was pretty high for what they were serving. In US dollars it was about $24 for average food. Nothing special in the coffee was not great.

My luggage had been lost for 6 days and 3 airlines! The front desk went out of her way to persevere and got more phone numbers to address our problem!We were joining Anawaterways from Basil to Amsterdam and her efforts made my long overdue luggage show up on the boat upon arrival! Unbelievable when you are 82 and wearing the same clothes for 7 days with conflicting futures of my luggage! She was unbelievable!

It was an easy ride from the airport to the hotel. It looks unassuming from the outside however the room was cozy ,service was excellent from the reception staff, housekeeping & the breakfast crew . Breakfast was was delicious, great choices and service.Comfortable beds, pillows & comforters were soft & warm.. I have neck issues & the pillow was so soft I had a very good sleep, no stiffness the following morning. The conforter was light and kept me warm. I liked them so much I requested the name of the company that supplied these so I can order these from home. Hotel ocation was ideal to Old Town. The staff were so helpful with directions to restaurants and shopping, we took the entire morning walking & site seeing as much as we can squeeze in 3 hours prior to boarding our cruise ship.

Wish we had more days to stay there & spend time exploring the city.

Our room was great. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean with great towles and a great shower. The breakfast was amazing plenty of food and great coffee. The location is right outside of the historic area that is very walkable. There are shope and ice resturants close by.

Wonderful location. Room was comfortable, well laid out and clean. Staff was very accommodating and flexible when we had to change our itinerary due to flight delays. Hot kettle plus a coffee maker were a plus and the fruit was appreciated too.

Husband didn't care for the duvet cover on the bed. He prefers sheets and blankets. We had some difficulty controlling the room temperature as we didn't realize a/c and heat were two separate controls.

Very close to everything. Breakfast in the morning. Had a balcony to see the gate.
