Landgasthof Riehen Hotel and Restaurant, Basel

Staff was awesome. They gave us free bus passes with 50% off to local museums and attractions. It also had a complimentary breakfast which is almost unheard of in switzerland. It is very qquait and right o. Thw tram.

I wish our hotel had heavier curtains. The sun coming in the room in the morning was very bright and woke us up. It was pleasant but i wasnt wanting to be awake at 5am :)

Staff was nice and helpful, location

Based on the exceptional 8.9 rating by Booking.com I was happy to spend a bit more money to stay here. I selected Breakfast Included but it was an extra charge (20CHF) for minimal buffet. The sound was terrible, any little noise outside the room was very loud. Lightning in the room was very poor, too dark. The connection between the A/C unit and the controller was broken and took a while to figure out how to get it to work.

Excellent option when visiting foundation Beyler which is at walking distance; easy (and free) tram ride to the center. Very good breakfast and helpful friendly staff. Quiet location

Abobe all the staff. Superb people making every effort to please the guests. The location was perfect for the nearby Museum Foundation Beleyer, and the Northern Lights exhibition..Very good place and food at the restaurant abundant and fine and reasonably priced for Switerzland.

Rooms were confortable and, as not a Northern European, I dislike the bed making in the North, but this is my problem

Washbasin within bedroom rather than in shower room not good

The property is beautiful and the rooms are incredibly clean, comfortable and spacious. The staff are fantastic and really polite as well as being helpful, the property doubles up as a restaurant but this really isn’t an issue the sound proofing is excellent and doesn’t interfere with your stay, I didn’t have the chance to eat in the restaurant however I heard nothing but positive things from guests.

Unfortunately the only downside this property has is the location it’s slightly outside of the main city, which for some people may be a better alternative, there’s a train station a short walk away and trains run frequently into the city centre, with a journey time of around 15 minutes.

The staff is really nice.When you arrive, you receive a card form the hotel that you can use to get free transport (bus, tram). You have some attraction for half price (zoo, museum, theater)as well.Breakfast was good but it's not written that you can ask for scrambled eggs or other.

The room was ok but the sink was in the room not inside the toilet.

Entire hotel, including the rooms, is well designed. Bed was very comfortable.Staff is very kind and helpful.The food in the restaurant is delicious.Close to a museum and a park for a nice walk.Close to supermarket.

CheckIn process could be simpler, but worked out for us

We absolutely loved our stay. The newly renovated spaces are so warm and welcoming. The little touches like the great smelling hand soap and shampoos were incredible. We ate at the hotel restaurant one night and were impressed. The staff were all so helpful and kind. We loved the waterfall shower and the lovely towels. The added touch of the Basler Pass was incredible!

We were in the extra rooms across the small street. We found the noises from other guests on the landing very loud. Also there's a hairdryer in the room, but it has a German plug, not a swiss plug so we couldn't use it in the room though it was provided. One last small detail- at breakfast the cereal listed as Corn Flakes were not what I'd consider Corn Flakes, which are unsweetened, but they were Frosted Flakes which have a sugary coating ... In fact all the cereals were sugary cereal and a plain unsweetened cereal would have been nice.These 3 things were very small details and did not keep me from giving the accomodation 10 out of 10

The room was small and a bit spartan. The price too high.

Breakfast was fine. The location was great in spite of the frequent street cars. Did not like the flight of stairs to reach our room.

The (French) woman at the reception was kind, friendly, and gracious. The man who set up and helped us with breakfast, fixing our coffee and visiting with us, was so friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable , everything was very clean, including the guestroom, the hallways, the dining room, even the front porch area.

Location was perfect for an overnight stay with a visit to the Beyeler Foundation on our way to Paris. The room and bathroom were very clean.

Room was basic. Small bathroom without windows, smell coming from the drains.

Comfortable stay, right next to transportation lines, good food, friendly and helpful staff

No refrigeratorGood breakfast but with some missing stuff such as omlet, tomato, olive, etc.
