Lovely design and attention to detail. Our 9-year old son loved that he had a tent to sleep in. Staff were kind and helpful. Parking next door was convenient (if costly) and 25% discount with hotel validation. Location is 10-15 minutes walk to the center of the old city across the river. Tram and bus lines just outside with free public transport card provided by hotel. Reasonably priced for a designer boutique hotel in Switzerland. Stores, bakeries, lunch spots nearby. Free tea, coffee, water stand on each floor was very convenient.

But for the noise I would give this hotel a 10. If your room faces the street, there is quite a lot of noise. The church across the street rings its bells frequently night and day. Not sure why the city allows this. Beer garden across the street could get loud if weather is good. Bus lines run on this street and can be noisy. Ask for a quiet room, but beware that interior rooms face the courtyard which could be loud with guests if the weather is nice.

Loved the staff, especially Michelle. Loved my corner room and the amazing breakfast.

We just had one short night in Basel and are happy with the choice to stay in this beautiful hotel! Great location, excellent breakfast, and a helpful and friendly staff.

Make sure you ask about the price of breakfast and/or confirm if it’s included in your stay. It’s a bit pricy - but honestly better than most breakfast offerings in hotels.

Very good design elegant and contemporary in an historical palace

The hotel is very modern. And the room is really spacious. The hotel is well-located by the center and 2 mins away from the river.

In the summer, when it’s too hot, the AC is very poor. They told me there a city policy where AC cannot more than 2 degrees less than weather temperature. But, they provided me with a fan which helped a lot.

The room was very comfortable. We enjoyed the restaurant and lounge. The hotel location was very convenient.

Beautiful architecture and interior design was supreme! Close to GrosBasel (old town) and close to great cafes for breakfast, and pubs for after dinner.

Staff were helpful when asking about extra pillows or towels etc. Very quick to respond. But I felt did not go out of there way to help with dinner places or sightseeing or general conversation about Basel. Staff mixed up our dinner reservations at their own hotel restaurant - so we never got to sit in their lovely outdoor terrace. They apologized

Excellent location, staff, breakfast room size.

No air conditioning. It was especially hot that week. Probably in normal weather it would be fine.

Location was good. Breakfast met expectations. Staff was pleasant.

The room decor seemed cold. Not much natural light. Felt very bare and minimal. Bed and pillows were not comfortable.

Our bedroom door was opened in the night and it did not lock properly. We were concerned for our safety. Also, there was no mini bar in the room, we arrived at midnight and had no food.

Stunning hotel really cool setup, the rooms are beautiful especially loved the bathroom, ideal location aswell very central in Basel!

Great location, wonderful restaurant, lovely room with contemporary design

The pillows and towels need upgrading . The shower towels are far too small and quite worn. We had only one pillow each which was very thin and even though we requested an additional pillow for the second night we did not receive.
