    Pros +

    • Nice thermal swimming pools, spacious and with pleasant water temperature. Valued the fact that the facilities were opened till 9pm.
    • The breakfast was really nice.
    • The therms were really nice, but a lot of people. The restaurant was nice. The staff was also nice. The parking was free of charge. Nice breakfast on the morning very fulfilling.

    Cons -

    • In one of our connecting rooms (the invalid room) the shower was smelly, the shower hand was broken, the faucet in the sink was poorly installed and splashed water. The breakfast was not included in the room price, besides initial price was mentioned as €22pp, but the price was increased to €28 pp as of January 1 without any pre-warning.
    • The staff messed up my mothers birthday lunch (she was the only one to not to receive any food). We were 9 people at the reaturant and the only ones there having lunch. Restaurant staff seemed quite new and young to the hospitality scene. The sauna area is not included in the price which is weird as the night price for a room was quite high. The spa area you can visit once a day (also weird) and its not private for the hotel. When we went there it was incredibly busy by families who had just bought access to the spa and because of that we left and never got to enjoy the spa.We brought these things out to the staff when we checked out and they gave us free breakfast. However, value for money is not there at all and if you want a relaxing spa break then i would not recommend it.
    • The pillows were horrible, too soft it was very difficult to sleep with these pillows unfortunately…my partner was not able to sleep with those. After my stay, I heard from a friend that it was the “German way” but I didn’t know if it was possible to change those.

Amazing room with super comfy beds, a water boiler and tea/coffee to enjoy, very rich breakfast buffet ( there's a chef on spot to prepare omelettes !), very helpful staff, location next to a dreamy forest, spa access easy via a covered corridor, nice restaurant with local and European cuisine

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Freiburg so very habdy to visit the City. The rooms were spotless. The gym is extremely well equipped as this is part of a rehabilitation facility.

The corridors of the hotel and the rooms are overheated. We switched off all of the radiators and had to sleep with the windows partially open. Unfortunately as the hotel is not far from a very busy road we could hear traffic. The restaurant was extremely slow. We waited for over an hour for green salad and flammenkucken after ordering at 7pm. Despite the lovely waiter trying to speed up the kitchen we were so tired that we had no alternative. The hotel does not have a private pool or sauna but rather provides adjoining access to the public thermal baths.

Therme, minibar and the shower are good.

Room is very hot, doesn’t have air conditioning. Mattress is not a properly a mattress, is a bunch of toppers put together.

Lovely hotel with a good restaurant and extensive breakfast. The wellness facility is also great and can be reached from within the hotel.

Keep in mind that you need to pay €12,- per person extra to use the sauna facilities.

Loved the free upgrade and all the facilities, restaurant and bar were fantastic. Staff very friendly as well.

An excellent hotel. I really enjoyed the view from the window while staying on the second floor. I liked the layout of the room—it was very comfortable.

Beautiful, quite clean, nice spa, friendly and helpful staff.

Why, why, why - why does the bathroom door is transparent? Who’s the genius that thought I would like to see my sister taking a shower or using the toilet? Also - gym facilities are SO old. Not relevant for people under 60.

    Breakfast and SPA access

No air conditioning, very hot, too expensive for the quality offered

    9MauricePosted on: 8-13-2025

Beautiful location, excellent facilities and friendly staff members.

We stayed during a heat wave and the rooms remained very warm during the night. A portable fan was provided to at least move the warm air around.

    7ShirleyPosted on: 7-31-2025

The room was big and well furnished, the mini bar had a large choice of snacks and drinks. There is a free access to the thermal pool via the hotel.

There is no AC in the rooms and it was 38 degrees so that even with a fan it was hard to sleep.

Great location, good restaurant for dinner

In was very warm in the room, even during the night with 15 deegC outside and window wide open the room was not getting cooler.

    8EvePosted on: 7-20-2025

All staff are very helpful. We liked the thermal pools. The breakfast was very nice. The size of the room was OK.

The door towards the back of the building had no net, for this reason we suffered having lots of big bugs coming in the room, and often being unable to sleep being scared of them. The size of the bathroom was OK, but it was no cubicle and sliding doors to keep the water in - it was very inconvenient & unpleasant to get the bathroom flooded every time we had a shower. For next year, we understood that you suggested to reserve room 215 for us, which is right at the end of the corridor, which could be too much of walking for George, because of his injured right leg. The bathroom has a cubicle, which is ok, but it is too small for George to move in it, also the room is too small. The door has a net, which is good, so mosquitoes and bugs hopefully cannot get into the room. Therefore please look for a larger room for us, with a larger bathroom with shower and cubicle with screen. The shower rooms and toilets need to be cleaned during the day, as many people are using them, also liquid soap should be in each shower cubicle. The Menu for the Dinner was poor, very few selection of food, and no value for money. We would've prefer a buffet dinner with light food on offer, including yogurt & fruits. In summer the air conditioning is necessary during hot days

Beautiful location. The breakfast was excellent. The room was small but well equipped.

There was no cooling system. It was 39°C. The fan was too noisy to use during the night. I would not stay again in summer, and would need to know there was adequate heat for a winter stay.

Nice location, just of highway but quiet in the woods. Good breakfast.

High outside temp no AC in rooms, very very warm on top floor.
