The staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful. A short walk (10 minutes) from the train station, even with luggage (on wheels).

The hotel does not have an elevator so I had to carry my luggage up three flights of stairs (and then back down again). The hotel is on the opposite side of the train tracks from the city center, but that was not a major issue (10 minute walk).

So we came for 2 nights. This is considered a hotel, although it's much more like a hostel. - location is close to the city center, but you have to walk in very spooky areas with sketchy people to get to this place.-no reception - i never met anyone from the staff. Everything is automated. ( has its pros and cons) - cleanliness - below average - no room service - no one cleaned our room and replaced our towels.Room was old and needed maintenance.

The rooms had a nice amount of space and the bathroom also had very nice dimensions. We liked the easy check in and check out system a lot. The common area was also quite comfortable.

The internet was so slow we ended using our own mobile data. The tv screen was the tiniest I've ever seen. We staying during winter and the windows had some water filtrations.

The location was very walkable to the train station as well as the city centre. The rooms were fine and just what we needed for sleep only as we are out most of the day!

The oven was quite tricky to use, we were trying to bake frozen pretzels and it took us a long time to get it working.

The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The bed was firm and nice. The reception was friendly. The building seemed secure. Payed parking was great. The shared kitchen was clean.

Facilities were well kept up, shared spaces were kept clean. It was nice to have kitchen space and dishes available. Wi-Fi was excellent. Being two blocks from the train station and grocery store was great.

Lots of stairs, no elevator - our room was on the 4th floor. Not a problem day to day, but challenging with luggage. The beds were decent but a little soft after a few days. The bathroom was very small, but we made it work. The room was too warm! It was fall, and with 55-60 degree weather, and the window open 24/7 it still was too warm in the room for good sleep. The provided floor standing fan was very helpful. On-site laundry room was a plus, though challenging with only one of three washers/dryer sets functioning.

Staff was really friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The room was spacious and we were able to receive a roll away bed for an additional person. Common areas were large as well.

Vending machine allows alcohol purchases but US ID & passport don't work.

Very convenient location as it is right next to the train station, from which you can explore other towns in the black forest. It's also at a walking distance to the city center, and where the main attractions are.

Just be mindful that the reception has limited hours, especially weekends, which means we had to rely on train station lockers to leave our luggage for the day after we checked out. It's not a huge problem, but it's better to know in advance.

It was close to the train station. The space was bright and roomy.

It felt more like a hostel or student housing. The cleanliness of the bathroom was subpar.

We had two rooms and our two bed- room was much larger than the 3 beds. It was nice and quiet!

The park that was close to the stayinn that you need to cross has drunk people. But we felt safe enough!

There were no surprises. This is a well equipped hostel stay with access to kitchen facilities. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The cleaning staff were quite friendly and seem to take their responsibilities very seriously. We would return the close proximity to everything.

Maybe the rooms/hallway could do with some updating ( coat of paint that is more neutral).

The place itself was amazing, great rooms and amenities. The staff was also great- when a member of our party got food poisoning, the receptionist was incredibly helpful in helping us find medical care. Definitely recommend!

Fortunately there was a fan in the room. The kitchen was ok.

The tap water has a metallic, potentially moldy taste.

usually no staff. it's a bare bones facility good for tong travelers on a budget. I focused on the word gasthaus. should have focused on hostel.

Very comfortable and good facilities, very safe, easy accessible and in close proximity to trams and trains. The shared kitchen is very well equipped and clean! The separate bathroom and fridge in the 3-bed room was very useful.
