Very good breakfast. Good location, right across from a park and archeological museum. Very good staff.

A little hard to access (many steps to get to lobby). Pillows were not good.

Location

The information from staff, given willingly and pleasantly, didn't always live up to specific needs. Since I'm sure non-Europeans stay, and Freiburg attracts tourists, they should be better prepared to discuss tourist information for surrounding area.

Centrally located, well decorated, friendly staff, parking and charging availability

We had a fantastic, most pampering time in Victoria hotel, its environmental consciousness is impressive. The location in the city centre and within a walkable distance from the station is also a great advantage, the breakfast delicious (range of choice beyond average) and staff always welcoming.

It is an old hotel, nicely refurbished with modern and comfortable rooms (bathrooms a little squeezed but very modern); the breakfast room is very beautiful and the staff serving breakfast nice and helpful.

The staff at the reception is a little cold and does not seem to have been trained for the job; not unfriendly but just not friendly; and I speak of two different staff. They seem a little unconcerned by the clients, they are helpful but a smile does not harm..

The elegant style of the hotel that was maintained from a previous era is beautiful. The hotel is in easy walking distance to the main railway station but in a nice quiet side street really close to some other great sites like Castle Colombi but with a large supermarket right down the street and easy walk into town in the other direction. I enjoyed the comfortable rooms with all the modern amenities including thoughtful accents. A stylish bathroom. An amazing cocktail bar in a wine cellar setting next door. A perfect stay. Can't wait to be back :)

The WiFi in the rooms is a bit spotty. I had difficulties during my conference calls so I had to switch to my phone as hotspot for my laptop. Increasing the signal strength on the 3rd floor would go a long way. Everything else was perfect.

While most of our interactions were pleasant, one receptionist communicated in a very formal and tense manner, which felt less friendly than expected. Upon departure, there was no eye contact or acknowledgment when we said goodbye.

The toilet could have been cleaned better. The curtains did not block out the light so the room was never very dark. The pillows were not very comfortable and the mattress seemed old.

There is no bar as such, a drinks cabinet in the lounge area and it is basically reliant on guests being honest about what they consume. The hotel has a cocktail bar downstairs but it is not always possible to get a table as it appears well patronised by local people.

Uncaring reception. Extremely uncomfortable beds. Horrible and uncomfortable pillows.

Lack of soundproofing. Filthy, unusable kettle. Thankfully, the most useless small mini refrigerator in the first, very tiny room, didn’t work, allowing me to get a normal-sized room with a standard mini refrigerator. The bath design provides an unusual toilet lid, which was heavy and off-putting. Worst of all, after a horribly interrupted night of inadequate sleep, housekeeping knocks at 855am, and again at 1045am—cuckoo clocks on another level.

Fantastic hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Free tea, coffee and fruit and local travel on public transport was really welcomed. The beds were comfortable and breakfast was super. We even got given a free bottle of water for our onward travel. 5 minute walk from the main station.

Walking distance to the train station, clean room, comfortable bed, good bathroom facilities. Friendly staff.
