Location of Hotel was excellent, Staff was very cordial and helpful, spa is good, Breakfast not tried. Comfortable rooms and clean linen
Hotel does not have lift facility so rooms on 2nd floor are difficult to access for Senior Citizens
It was perfect for our getaway from the kids. The spa facilities are excellent.
Shower water took a while to heat up and the shower could benefit from updating but was still full ne
It has a SPA. Parking close by and you can drop your luggage by driving directly to hotel.
The hotel has two buildings. To go to SPA you should cross the street outside from one building to another in robes and sleepers... in winter time. There is a bridge between two buildings, but excess to it is locked. There is the breakfast option, but it is at another, third building, across the river.
I was upgraded to a studio room. I liked that they honored the "green card" but still replenished my coffee and water without being asked to do so. The bed was super comfortable. The spa was lovely.
There could be more options for breakfast. I didn't mind walking up the 3 flights of stairs to my room, but not everyone would.
Very nice, central location!Elegant, cosy, very professional staff!!
Parking cost , unheard of! Rip off!!! 85.- CHF for 2 days!!
Very nice location, old Limmathof building elegantly renovated, cosy Studio rooms beneath the roof.
Actually, there are two old buildings and one new on the other side of the river. Breakfast is over there in a restaurant. In the old building is a restaurant which is independent. In the other old building is the Spa with a front desk that is also taking care of hotel guests. So, the impression is more like a serviced apartment with extra services provided by external vendors.
This is such a cool building. We stayed in the property attached to the spa. The beds are quite possibly the most comfortable hotel beds we have ever slept in. The spa was wonderful after a long travel day. We enjoyed learning about the history of the location and found this to be a relaxing spot.
We had read reviews about the bathrooms being odd, so we knew what to expect before our stay. You can definitely hear everything in the room from the bathroom! The glass in the shower is frosted up at the top but not the bottom, so if the window curtain is open opposite the shower you are visible from the waist down, although this would be okay if you’re in the bath and want a view while you soak. It would be nice to add a couple hooks somewhere to hang towels, robes, or toiletry bags.
Perfect location, super room design, spa included, interesting shower ?
Need to get out to get to the spa building…
- historic building at limmat- clean
- breackfast very poor. All empty - no possibility to reach reception at other part of the building except walking there- bad information about reaching - additional sanitary facilities closed for hotel guests
This place was a wonderful surprise. The spa was wonderful and relaxing, Baden was wonderful too explore. We debated getting something closer to the airport but we are happy we ventured farther away and had a nice relaxing day for the last day of our trip as the weather did not cooperate for our last excursion.
No, loved it all.
- The central location of the hotel, near the river and the thermal baths.- The two people I met at the reception were extremely kind and helpful.- The room was extremely quiet and comfortable, newly and tastefully designed.- The “hot spring water” pool is relatively small but together with the sauna and steam room, it makes for a very nice area to relax.
- Although the hotel is located in a very nicely situtaed historical building, the rooms, the breakfast space, etc. are in different buildings. So is the parking (albeit within a short walking distance). As such, the hotel feels somewhat soulless and eerie. The fact that on a Monday many (i.e. all) places are closed in Baden may have contributed to this. (Not a single restaurant in the area was open.)
The view and location
Having to cross the bridge for breakfast in the rain
The room was very comfortable and the location was excellent. Loved the river and nearby public baths and very good cafe.
Pity the baths had broken down during our stay - was one of the main reasons we booked. That being said, the host went above and beyond to aid us with a dscounted access to the private spa area.
I liked that the room was spacious & had a verandah overlooking the river. It is in a great location beside the river, the parking was conveniently located & access to the spa facilities was great to have. In addition there were restaurants nearby as well as proximity to the beautiful old town where my family come from.
Just that the bathroom only had a sheer curtain so not complete privacy. We couldn’t plug in our European converter so couldn’t charge our phones etc. but overall we loved our stay there.
Nice location and good amenities
Breakfast not provided
We loved our stay at Limmathof Hotel and Spa. The location is on a quiet old street facing the river, a beautiful spot for a promenade and relaxation. Our room had a lovely design with a spacious bed. Breakfast took place in a building on the other side of the river, and we enjoyed the five-minute walk and crossing the bridge over the water to get there. The spa was included in the price and was truly amazing. It featured different saunas, a steam room, and a thermal bath. We especially loved the beautiful salt room, the thermal pool with a waterfall and jacuzzi, all elegantly illuminated and designed. The spa area had many restrooms with tea available and a surprising ice room with an ice wall.We also tried the small fitness room and were pleasantly surprised to find that on sunny days, you can train on the terrace facing the river. It was two days of total relaxation and wellness just 20 minutes by train from Zurich main station.
I made a mistake with the booking and reserved a single room instead of a double. It cost us much more to change the booking at the hotel. I advise booking online and checking for one of the great offers, especially since there are excellent prices during the week.
The only positive part of the property is the location, also the gym is pretty good
The description on booking is misleading and makes people think there’s a parking on site; there isn’t, once you book you’ll get some automatized mail that you need to park to another place 5 mins walking distance. The incredible element is the breakfast location is 5 mins walk from the main structure too, this is incredible for a 4 star accommodation, it’s border line scam. The cherry on top is the lack of elevator.Rooms are small and if you’re unlucky enough to be on the wrong side you’ll be enjoying 24/7 Thai food smell.
