    Pros +

    • Hotel l'Abeille is an amazing and rare find for us as seasoned international travelers. It checks all the boxes for quiet, comfort, location (5 minutes to train station), friendly staff, and exceptional breakfast. But the outstanding and authentic furnishings and decoration take it to another level. The rooftop garden is the icing on the cake. Then consider the connection to CDG airport: taxi (or RERB and a walk along the Seine) to Austerlitz train station then a direct hour and a half train ride to Orleans. Orleans is just the right size, not too big or too small. We intend to route all trips to western France through a several day stay at l'Abeille. Stair warning: no lift, and SERIOUS stairs. Staff does help with bags.
    • I liked convenient location, 5 min walk from the train station, or the shopping center. Also it is in the area where there is everything… shopping, restaurants, pharmacy… you name it. I liked the unique decor, taking you back couple of centuries. Absolutely amazing, helpful staff, no matter the shift, speaking a very good English The cleaning lady, Maria, so sweet and polite. I often travel to Orleans and will stay there again.
    • Size of room. Old world decor. Breakfast. Staff.

    Cons -

    • It’s not their fault for not having an elevator. It’s an old building with lots of unique character. So the elevator would ruin its charm. If you absolutely need one, then probably you may not like very much that there is no elevator.
    • Do be aware there is no lift. We had small suitcases and managed.
    • The stairs are challenging with luggage.

Close to Orelans train station. The room was a good size as was the bathroom. Room was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The stairs are challenging with luggage.

A piece of history. Quaint quirky and antique. Getting up to the 4th floor with no lift provided welcome exercise . Friendly and helpful staff . Good breakfast.

Very friendly and helpful staff, charmingly old-fashioned, very clean, quiet despite central location.

This is a charming boutique hotel with a perfect location being in the city center and next to the train station. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was very well set up. Very quiet, cozy, safe.

My room was on the very top floor so I did get my steps in. My room had a bathtub not a shower but I made it work!

Really atmospheric and centrally located boutique hotel. The staff were delightful and did everything they could to make our stay absolutely brilliant. Breakfast was very good.

Not a problem for me, but there is no lift, only stairs. Just something to bear in mind.

excellent location in Orleans, very clean and large room, with mostly fascinating and warm style interiors. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were also very nice.

only minor details. Some finishes in the bathroom are not as elegant as in the bedroom and the room arrangement is little extravagant (with entrance in the big bathroom with bathtube, wc was in a little separate room).

    9InêsPosted on: 11-29-2024

Very comfortable bed and the breakfast was good as well. The decoration might be a bit too much, but it’s exactly as pictured - from the early 1900.

The stairs were a bit too narrow; you have to leave your keys before getting out of the hotel at night.

We really loved this hotel - full of charm, with beautifully decorated rooms and very friendly staff!

It would have been nice if the ceiling light fixtures in the rooms had dimmer switches as they were very bright.

    9SusanPosted on: 10-31-2024

The decor was warm and beautiful. The location was walking distance to the train station as well as the major attractions. Breakfast was delicious with homemade yogurt and superb hot chocolate. Staff were gracious.

    10LindaPosted on: 10-5-2024

The room was absolutely beautiful—antiques and good reproductions, utterly charming.

Everyone mentions the steps which are difficult.

    9MarkPosted on: 10-3-2024

Very quaint interior. Marie Antoinette room quirky with entrance via the bathroom!

Only beginning Oct but really needed heating on but no ability to turn on on room.Blankets instead of duvet were heavy to sleep under.

Hotel style and decoration quiet special.Staff extremely helpful.Extremely well located nearby the train station and the city center.Rooftop terrace to enjoy the view and and the nice weather.Only minus point : no lift and very narrow stairs. But was not a problem for us.

Very narrow stairs to go to the bedroom.

Pretty, traditional, cosy and stylish hotel in the heart of Orleans, close to the Joan of Arc monument. Very good breakfast and friendly staff, no problem to park bikes inside.

    8RogerPosted on: 9-18-2024

The location was very near to the station and was handy from that point of view although it had a tendency to attract various unsavoury characters. The breakfast was excellent but it was charged extra to get the room rate.

There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Although one could ask for a free tea or coffee down in the hotel lounge.

    7HallgrimurPosted on: 9-17-2024

A quaint little hotel with atmosphere, friendly staff and nice breakfast. Good location.

Lack of modern ameneties, no lift, very steep stairs and no help with luggage up and down. A bit run down. The room opened into the bathroom which also housed the wardrobe. Very narrow wc room that needed to be backed into for sitting down.
