Schwarzwaldgasthaus Salenhof

We messed up on our reservation and the owner was SUPER accommodating - above and beyond. Our rooms were super comfortable and both had a balcony with a great view. Outside of town, so super quiet and you can hike the Black Forest directly from the hotel and still have a close drive to Feldberg, Titisee, Triberg, etc. Breakfast was a standard German buffet and everything was excellent. We were surprised to arrive at the hotel in the evening and see lots of local cars in the parking lot, but realized it was for the great dinner. Inexpensive and fantastic!

Only showers (no tub) in the rooms, but we knew that from the reservation.

Excellent breakfast, wonderful view over the Black Forest. Good food in the evening.

Nothing at all! The only thing to be aware of in this general area is that almost all places to eat are closed on Tuesdays

It's located in a very beautiful landscape, the breakfast was quite good and the staff were so friendly.It was a good experience for the price.As it's a Schwarzwald-style old house, you might hear some creaking from others walking on the wooden floors, but for me, it adds to the charm and authenticity of the experience.

Super friendly owners. Let us park our motorcycles in the garage. Great dinner menu selection of Black Forest favorites! Super tasty and great view from terrace during dinner. Super service and good breakfast too! Definitely recommend. We will be back!

Hosts were lovley. Allowed me to park my motorcycle in a dry shelter/garage.Room was comfortable, facilities were in place, quiet location and nice breakfast.Had a nice selction of food for evening meal.

Beautiful setting, really lovely accommodation, food was amazing and the beer too. All the staff were lovely even if we couldn't understand each other. The owner speaks very good English. Even let me put my bike in the garage

Really classic Gastaus. The restaurant served typical a Black Forest menu.People come from all over to go to the restaurant even tho it's not in Neustadt. Breakfast was served on the balcony & was delicious. A complete German breakfast. Our room was large & comfortable with a small balcony. Bed huge with comforters.

Everything was a perfect Gasthaus experience.

The owners are super friendly and very great hosts! The drive up to the hotel is stunning!

The waitresses at dinner were a bit less friendly and seemed under too much stress.

Staff talking too loud, the smell of the kitchen was intense, a little bit annoying (not in the rooms but in the corridors).

some friends recommended us the food here, but it was so salty that I could eat less than half, my tongue started hurting, despite the beer! at breakfast I tried the same ingredients (sausages and eggs) to see if it was the base ingredient salty or the chef, and I confirm it was the chef. too bad!not very nice that you cannot charge the dinner on the room.

Staff was friendly and warm. Room was spacious with a great view over the rolling fields and Black Forest pine trees. Our family enjoyed the value for money dinner served up at the on site restaurant, the Black Forest trout was so tasty. Parking was easy and free.

Amazing little gem near Tittisee. The room was very spacious and extremely clean. Bed was very comfortable. Views from the windows are a dream! The staff and the food (both restaurant and breakfast) was very good. I would stay again without second thought.

Amazing location and what a view at breakfast. Had a problem with our car (a stone marten had chewed though an intake pipe, apparently this is a thing in the black forest ?).Owner was great, containing the garage for us and booking in. Garage were amazing too, repaired at no cost.Evening meals great, breakfast a nice buffet selection of good quality cheese, bread, eggs etc.Very comfy beds.

Not a moan, but just for information the evening restaurant is closed on Tuesdays so don't plan to eat at the guesthouse.

Lovely location, clean comfy room and very good breakfast, even supplied Gluten Free Bread for me. Restaurant served excellent evening food. Would visit again.

Cosy, spacious an utterlyclean rooms, incredibly delightful food and the people who work there are indeed extremously kind and pleasent. there, you really feel as tought you were at home. Alles wunderbar

Staff was super friendly, food was delicious and the room was clean and large with comfortable beds. Very welcoming and homey feeling! We also traveled with our 8 month old and she slept great in the crib they provided and we had plenty of room in bed to share with her too (which is rare for European beds!)
