Oak Ray City Hotel

Had a comfortable stay — clean rooms, friendly staff, and great service. Really enjoyed the experience.

The view from our room across the train station to the hills was nice, particularly at night. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The older manager seemed quite deaf which made it hard to communicate. The noise from the train station was very loud during the night.

Restaurant was closed which meant that the breakfast was a chicken sandwich from another hotel - wasn’t great. The hotel was quite run down and in need of repair. Loud at night and the advertisement lights stay on all night, lighting up your room which made it difficult to sleep.

Very easy hotel to find and was a good stop over for a night. Rooms clean and very big with a great view of the mountains. Manager Widura was very welcoming on arrival offering to help with the sights of Kandy.

The hotel almost seemed empty with little to no people seen around the hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted by bandara who kindly carried our bags to the room. Following this he became very insistent to make sure I was enjoying my stay and it came across as overbearing and made me and partner a bit uncomfortable. I think the staff just need to relax as the hotel is good for the price and they did a good job.

We had an amazing view over the city and the mountains. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The Staff was really helpful especially Widura made us feel very welcome and helped us with our further journey!

The location is in proper city area an the hotel also has hill view rooms. The room rate was reasonable.

The Final payment charged was taking the booking.com price and converting it to LKR by taking selling price of Dollar. It is not correct as we paid in LKR through credit card and did not give the hotel dollars in cash for them to sell.

Clean, comfortable bed, hot shower, spacious room, fast lift.

I had to change my room 3 times. 1st time, no balcony, 2nd time, bad smell in bathroom (drains) 3rd bedroom fine.Breakfast was poor, stale fruit etc.Rooms could be cleaner.

Room facilities are ok. Clean and comfortable.Mr Bandara has given superb service during our stay.

Parking is really disappointed.

We arrived at the property and were kindly greeted by the staff. They tried their best despite the lack of facilities at this hotel.I have to say Mr Bandara and the other workers were exceptional with their service. Only a superhero could fix some of the things wrong with this hotel.

Well for one when you pay for a hotel we expect to have a properly functioning shower ? I felt like I was being pranked. The shower was broken and I alerted the front desk. This was done around 7.30pm and a maintenance person did come out and sort the issue however it was around 9.15pm.One of the lights in our room did not work and the blinds in the room were broken. Given the central location in the city I expected WiFi to be reasonable but it was very average, just used mobile hotspot There is no value here. We booked this place last minute and thought it would be ok and our expectations were quite low. This place managed to actually go below my expectations ??‍♂️

Location just out of main drag but not far. Wonderful staff so helpful. Nice cake shop owned by hotel next door . Lovely tea with it. Breakfast served in bedroom excellent.

The old man was rude and too much and forcefully shaking hands while he was cleaning another room… how hygienic!The bed pillows were so dirty with stains Walls are dirtyThere were too many power cuts

Friendly staff. Comfortable. Manager and Mr. Bandara who in charge rooms services were helpful and friendly. They concern about customer satisfaction. AC, Wifi, Toilets were working properly. Good only for a quick stay.

Curtains were not working. Missed the mountain view. Floor was not clean. Tv was not working. Not value for money.Restaurant is not suitable for a hotel. Availability of foods and beverage were limited. Limited staff to serve.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, the entire place was spotless, and the hot water worked perfectly. The hotel had a lovely, fresh smell throughout, and its central location on the main road made it super convenient to explore the city.A special shoutout to Manager Bandara, who went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. He helped arrange a tuk-tuk and even took a lovely photo for me to keep as a memory.Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Kandy!

Room 116 could use a fresh coat of paint, but honestly, it didn’t bother me at all—it’s such a minor thing compared to everything else.

Large rooms in Kandy city center. Good staff arranging everything needed. Large breakfast - Sri Lanka or English breakfast style.

The hotel is in Kandy city close to the main road and railway, so it is loud outside even during the night.

Superb location closer to town yet beautiful views of Hanthana mountain range. Very welcoming staff always very attentive and prompt in service. We will be back again.

The smell in the corridor was terrible. The room, however, was clean and didn't have that weird smell.
