    • Very average

    Cons -

    • Room furnishing was very dated.
    • The room is stinky and smelly. You cannot sleep and the bed is bad. Moles on the wall. Noise from outside the restaurant. Windows are just a wall between your room and hallway.
    • The staffs were unprofessional. The room was stinking and had bed bugs. The linens were not clean. The location was good. But they can definitely work on the bed bug issue. Our skin was itching and sore due to the bugs.

I love the location and the staffs... The service was great!

need a color wash in rooms otherwise the space is excellent!

The location is conveniently located in the main city. Market and several restaurants around. The bed and bathroom was clean.

The room was smaller than it looked in the pictures. The wallpaper needs a redo as it was covered with molds and looked dirty. The bed was making noise. The AC was dripping and some light fixtures were not working. Room door had old type key lock instead of access cards. The locker was operated with a key instead of a code.

    Location and value for money

Didn’t get refill of drinking water, I am that must be the policy of the property free water bottle once daily

Great rooms and bathrooms, friendly staff nice location - great value for money.

The food at the restaurant was rather bland and turisty - more effort could have been made.

Location is very good.Bed was comfy.

Despite not booking the cheapest room category I had a room with window to the lift shaft and corridor. The curtains are very thin so light comes at night.Overall felt hotel was quite expensive for what you get.Breakfast a bit strange and not cheap.

Perfect location in Kandy, staff could not be more accommodating and the rooms were clean and comfortable

    1. Location is in centre of Kandy2. Cleanliness 3. Modern 4. Friendly staff

    1. Staff were struggling to speak good English that led to communication breakdown. 2. Hot water intermittently available. 3. Bed sheet had a stain but they changed it promptly when reported. 4. Room phone didn't work and despite reminding nothing was done about it.5. Internet wasn't working well.

Location was great. The room was rather spacious, and the staff at the reception was polite and nice. They set aside a balcony for smoking, so it was great that we did not have cigarette smells in the room.

There were brown stains on the bedsheets, but it didn't seem too bad. We just mentioned it because we expected a nice comfortable bed with clean sheets for the price we paid (We had a much better experience in Ella for a cheaper price). Breakfast was abysmal - we couldn't finish the food. This could be because it was Western style; it might have been a better idea to go for the local breakfast.

Location is excellent. Beware of inner rooms. Loud Aircon, smells. Avoid room 103. Despite high price of room, that does not get you away from the inner windowless rooms. Insist on a room with a balcony. We switched after first night and then could sleep.

Food is poor. Over priced western rubbish. We watched frozen chicken be microwaved and thrown into a dish. Welcome drink is a cordial.... In Sri Lanka.... Come on. Coffee is nescafe. You can request Sri Lankan food but they need a days notice!. Inner rooms should not be sold. Worse night in Sri Lanka.

    Horrible place.

Read this before you book. This hotel is inside a restaurant. THE ROOMS HAVE NO WINDOWS. the room smelled like sewage and they refused to change it. They say they will clean it but they never did. The bed very uncomfortable and the sheet has big stains on them. Look for a different place.

We had the pleasure of staying at Cafe Aroma Inn during our visit to Kandy, and the highlight of our experience was Ashan, the outstanding and incredibly sympathetic gentleman at the reception. From the moment we arrived, Ashan made us feel right at home with his warm demeanor and charming personality. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect. Not only did he arrange all our day trips flawlessly, but he also followed up with us to make sure we were safe and thoroughly enjoying ourselves. His attention to detail and genuine care for guests is truly commendable.Ashan’s knowledge of the area and his excellent recommendations made our time in Kandy unforgettable. Whether it was organizing transportation, suggesting local attractions, or simply being there with a friendly smile, he consistently exceeded our expectations. The level of service we received from Ashan is rare and deserves all the recognition. If you’re planning to stay in Kandy, I highly recommend Cafe Aroma Inn, and be sure to ask for Ashan – he’ll make your trip extra special!Thank you, Ashan, for your kindness and professionalism. You truly made our stay memorable, and we’ll be back soon!

The Sri Lankan breakfast was not available.

We were very disappointed with our stay! The main entrance, the service, and the food were very nice however, the room was far from what we had expected....

While the room was huge, is was run down and dirty in places. The curtains and sofa were covered in stains and ripped in places, the bed looked clean but had hair in it. The worst part was they had an issue with the water which was coming out dark brown our entire stay (luckily only one night) due to issue with pipes in the street. We could not shower, wash or brush out teeth. The staff were lovely and we appreciate it is not there fault but the room overall was disappointing when we arrived anyway. Great location but I am sorry, we would not visit again!

Nightmare at New Year Eve! Shames on you!

Nightmare at New Year EveAfter we finished all the tour and dinner, we went back to the hotel at 10 o’clock, and found that air conditioner malfunctioned. We informed the manager the situation. He promised that someone would fix it. So we waited in the restaurant until midnight, New year. We kept asking the staffs during this time. And finally, he sent one staff coming with us to the room, and found air conditioner still malfunctioned. And the manager came and said sorry that all room are booked so nothing could be done. He would provide us the free breakfast as the compensation. I ask „Our booking does not include breakfast?“ He said „no“. Then we accepted his compensation. But after he left, and I checked my booking details, the breakfast is already included. Actually, we saw they bring the fan to our room when we checked in. We felt something weird at that moment. Maybe they already knew that air conditioner malfunctioned. Next morning, we told manager about the breakfast. He checked and realized that our breakfast was already included. He promised that he will ask his management for compensation when we check out. At last, when we checked out, he just want to give us COFFE for take away as compensation. Sorry, you really look down on us. Shames on you!

Good hotel in the city centre. Rooms are comfortable and staff friendly.

Price for breakfast is high and it’s not worth the money. Portions are small and service a bit slow.

    4FfionPosted on: 12-26-2024

It was in the centre so very close. The food in the cafe was nice.

When we first arrived, they gave us a room with mould and no open windows so it was very dark and dingy. We asked to move, they gave us a room with a window. The rooms are a bit outdated and old. If they upgraded it to look like the cafe it would be a lot better.

Room was nice but the staff were exceptional. So friendly, welcoming and helpful. Location was perfect.
