The place wasn’t clean room was dirty the kitchen was filthy

Worst experience I have ever had. Not safe for guests. It says it is 24 hours, at 11pm when my boyfriend and I are fast asleep the owner came crashing through our door terrifying us both. In the morning he explained it was because he was going to bed and wanted to lock up and I wasn't answering my phone. Once I finally connected to some Internet I realised he had called 6 times and sent 3 messages from about 9pm asking us to come back as he wanted to lock up. He seemed angry and frantic when he came into our room as he was frustrated from not being able to reach us. Absolutely appalling, not safe at all. And no mention of a curfew when checking in. Then there are the other problems such as having ago at us for being Genius level as he misses out of money, slagging off booking.com, not letting us connect to the Internet as our room is a budget room, dog locked in a cage our entire stay and never let out, dirty room, no toilet roll. Really shocking experience from the second We arrived.

Very friendly owner! Clean rooms with AC! Really good location (nearby lake). They can also provide breakfast or other food and there is a beautiful balcony :)

Very personable owner, who provided a warm welcome (including tea for colleagues who were pausing briefly while I checked in). Comfortable bed, efficient ceiling fan and nice surroundings. Handy for the lake and only 5-6 minutes away from the city centre.

Somewhat whiffy drains, and the wifi didn’t reach the bedroom.

the owners were friendly, talkative and accomodating. the location was convenient. the rooms could do with a bit of a zhuzh. cheap price.

The owner is a gentleman, very kind and helpful.The rice and curry that they served me was delicious and he asked an honest price, which I appreciated.The location is great! 5min from the lake and 20min from the center.

A mother, her daughter and their dog checked in at 10:30pm. I heard the dog barking behind the wall, several times during the night.

The property as the host were very nice, we had a problem with the room and he changed it directly. He made our stay in Kandy perfekt. I recommend it!

Very unpleasant experience

I am a woman traveling by myself. In this hotel, I chose a budget room, a type of room that has always satisfied my needs in other structures. Here however I found mold on almost all the walls in the room which caused an unbearable smell. There were cockroaches in the room, the fan switch was broken and there was no wifi. When I asked for a light blanket, the girl gave me one that was thrown among other objects on the sofa in the passing corridor. I was supposed to spend two nights in the property, but obviously after the first night I spoke to the owner and informed him of my decision to contact Booking to cancel the second night. He insisted that I stay and offered me a superior category room for a good price, much lower than in a normal situation. After a lot of insistence I decided to accept the proposal because the gentleman seemed really sorry that I had had such a terrible experience. But from that moment he took on inappropriate attitudes, insisting that I find time to chat with him and accusing me with recriminatory messages on WhatsApp (thus making improper use of my data). At check out, angry because I had not satisfied his requests, he started shouting, insulting me and accusing me of not having paid the correct amount. Ultimately I spent the worst 2 days of my holiday here and I strongly advise single women not to book at this facility.

The balcony really nice and the owner help us a lot. It's very close to the center and the lake.

Hotel was ok

They wanted to charge me 7$ for returning my passport after I did the checkin and they required me to pay for the internet used (never was an option at booking). They asked me all the time where I was going and that the stay was only for sleeping and not for working

Location

Family room was súper small, no place for anything. Full of ants. Staff is nice but they need to improve a lot in terms of organization: we have no towels and no sheets.

Great location near the lake. 15 minutes walk to the temple. Air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, and hot water work well. Owner is a great guy, I really enjoyed spending time speaking with him.

Location is very handy, lively stroll past the lake into the centre. Owner Opol couldn’t do enough for us, we actually became very good friends with Opol and will return to his hotel. Hotel is lovely , rooms are spacious with lovely balcony’s and very clean. - we felt right at home here and our son Carter was entertained by Opol’s Chipmunk named Vino.

The owner of the hotel is very kind and he tried to make us comfortable with our stay.Recommend for group travellers.It has big car parking space.

The place is very quiet in the chaotic Kandy. You can sleep very well here and you are at 25 minutes walk from the temple. The owner is very helpful on any request you may have and he does his best to make you feel at ease. Room is a bit small but clean.
