Hotel de la Gare Brest

Short stay for a weekend, convenient location near the train station, easy check in and stay, other than that, nothing exceptional, neither in location nor facilities.

The room was a little run-down, some furniture had broken corners etc., the shower was tiny. But everything was clean and for a quick stop it was efficient.

Poor

Very poor breakfast, only one kind of ham and cheese. If you wanna boiled egg you have to boil it yourself. No vagetables at all. Bathroom very dirty. Whole trip was like turning back in time like 40 years.

The handy location

The bedsheets didn't fit properly and weren't cotton. Crinkly bottom

I needed a place for a short stay near the bus and train stations. This hotel was perfect for that. Next, staff was welcoming, bedsheets were great, there was a bit of an ocean view across the industrial part of the harbor. Room was quiet.

There is a half a flight of stairs needed to get to the part of hotel where my room was. In such case even if the building has an elevator count on some steps. Lighting in the bathroom was somewhat weak. There were some carpet stains, most probably from the old nightstands. No sea view from the bed.

Mould in the bedrooms, very tired and run down. Carpets that make you want to keep your shoes on.

Room was basic but low cost. Excellent location. Good view over the port and Rade, close to bars and restaurants, fine for our purposes. Good secure bike storage.

The welcome from the staff was not friendly, nobody smiled or tried to be helpful beyond doing the minimum their job required. Improving the customer service would make this a great low-cost hotel si pleas try harder. Only paper cups in the room, no shower curtain, room was simple.

Location excellent and good value for money.Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Coffee or tea making facilities would have been nice, but not essential.

The room and the toilet was very spacious. I was a solot traveler, but the bed was big enough for 2 people. The property was clean. The best part is the sea view. There was an attached balcony where I could sit and enjoy the view. The property is just beside the Train station (1-2 minute walking distance). There are plenty of seafood restaurants nearby.

Having air conditioning would have been better.

Staff, location, hotel quiet outside business hours (transport works ongoing-exceptional circumstances.Staff super helpful and friendly. Location very central-handy for all transports.

The location near the station suited me perfectly and the hotel was value for money: not wonderful, but good as one could expect for that price. I did not take breakfast but I understand that was OK. The staff are very friendly and helpful: a kettle will be provided on request. There are several pleasant restaurants nearby.

The elevator is tiny: I could barely fit in with just my suitcase, and then there was still a flight of stairs to climb. After two nights I had to vacate my first room because of a leaking roof and water coming down the ceiling; I was also shocked to discover that my room had not been locked after cleaning. The second room was better, but the toilet was not flushing well. Furthermore, there were a lot of street noises at times: I normally like to have the window open at night, but the curtain rail made that impossible and the noise was too much.

Friendly staff, room was as described and clean/cleaned well.

No aircon, and very warm. Even window and room door open did not ventilate. Cleaning staff half opened the bilnds...Impossible to sleep with open windows, even on 3rd floor due to traffic noise.Breakfast somewhat simple.
