Great value for money, clean facilities, nice restaurant at the adjacent bar, comfortable beds and lots of small add ons.

Walls are a bit thin and could hear other guests leaving in the morning as well as the train in the night…

2 toilets and 2 showers - well stocked facilities; liked the restriction of the 2nd toilet that was situated next to our room not for use overnight

Sink in the room was something to get used to and took up space for storage but only minor issue!

    Very clean, warm and comfortable.

    10LuisaPosted on: 4-17-2025

it was very comfy and cosy (there was even a blanket heater!), toilets and shower were really good as well as clean and the lil kitchen came in handy for being a hotel (toaster, fridge, microwave and a boiler + utensils). this hotel was the best part of the town after the gorgeous hotikika gorge 30min from there.

The person that welcomed us suggested many interesting places to go for dinner. We had a cosy, quiet room and it was very clean and tidy.

The proprietor, Michelle, was really friendly, although there was a slight misunderstanding about my check-in time.Room was basic but v clean & just what I needed.I loved the traditional old-style rural hotel bar. Friendly folk & superb food. The fish and chips were gorgeous.

Excellent value and everything we needed for an overnight stay.

The rooms and bathrooms are clean, but there is a musty smell.

    5AndrewPosted on: 3-22-2025

    Disappointing

Place was closed up when we arrived at 8:00pm. No bar, no food, no breakfast. Very small room, very soft bed. No alternative eating places close by.

    9KarenPosted on: 3-19-2025

Modern and well furnished and had all the utensils and things you need in a house.

The weather was about the only think I would change if I could.

    7HannahPosted on: 3-18-2025

Cleanliness, welcoming host, kitchen facilities clean and close to hand and the shared bathroom was only along the corridor.

    Nothing at all.

    10AdrianPosted on: 3-18-2025

The accom was exceptional value for money. Clean, comfortable and easy access to all facilities. Thank you

It is exactly what it claims only more comfy and clean. Terrific value. We wanted to walk the Gorge and visit to lake so stayed two nights on a long road trip. Super comfortable beds. Scrupulously clean. Two shared showers and two shared loos (all separate for around six rooms so no waiting). And a useful little kitchenette with microwave etc.

One review spoke about thin walls and they were but as a result people seemed very respectful especially early leavers. Nothing not to like.

    good size room for price

smelly carpet from smelly feet. Someone's dirty sock was left under one bed

Michelle was very welcoming and showed us around and to our room. There was a small kitchen area for patrons to use.Room, shower, toilet were very clean and comfortable. A good night's sleep was had. The pub is not open Monday's which made for a quiet evening seeing the sunset on the beach. Lovely.Added bonus was the cabinet with jade art/jewellery created by local artist Gary. Fabulous to support local!Thank you Michelle for being so kind.
