    Pros +

    • Beautiful hotel, beautifully situated, everything provided for luxury. Wonderful breakfast. I recommend this hotel to everyone!
    • The hotel’s aesthetic was modern and zen — it truly felt like living in a spa for five days. We visited in the off-season and were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a garden pool suite, which was lovely. We especially enjoyed being able to sit outside even when it rained and the garden in front of our room was very relaxing. We were a family of 4 and fit nicely into a suite. The indoor pool on the 9th floor was perfect for families in the winter. The daily brunch was excellent, and the gardens throughout the property were beautiful, with many trails nearby to explore. Housekeeping was also very accommodating, making up our room whenever it was convenient for us, whether earlier or later in the day.
    • It’s fancy with nice view comfortable

    Cons -

    • Room service was a bit rigid. For example, the kids’ burger intentionally arrived without a bun, and there wasn’t much flexibility to accommodate small changes to how meals were prepared.
    • There is alot of ants in the room
    • Everything was good. Just a note that internal courtyard room might be not comfortable for those who like fresh air.

The hotel is nicely designed, very comfortable, hotel beach restaurant was nice, free sunbeds for hotel guests, very nice garden. When we asked to change the room with the internal yard view, the staff (I think Lise) was very nice and found a room to change with the outside balcony. It was very nice, since we could not sleep in the previous room.

Everything was good. Just a note that internal courtyard room might be not comfortable for those who like fresh air.

    awareness of environmental protection

The overall stay was fine, but I found the room design very inconvenient when it came to charging devices. The only accessible outlet was located under the fixed bedside table, which meant I had to kneel down to plug in my phone. On top of that, after leaving the room for dinner, I realized my phone had not charged because the electricity is cut off when the key card is removed. Considering how important charging is for guests nowadays, I really think the hotel should improve this aspect of the room design.

Location and ocean views were great as was the breakfast service. Infinity pool was a beautiful setting. Facilities were clean and well maintained.

The elevator set up was unusual in that to get to our room we had to take an elevator to the 5th floor, walk about 150m to another elevator and then go up to 8th floor. Tedious process. This was to access rooms in the newer section.

Welcoming staff at arrival. Entrance well decorated. If you want to be specificically in Calheta, the hotel is well located. Decent hotel for most people.

My experience was disappointing: I reserved and paid for an ocean view suite and got the cheaper side-ocean suite. Apparently, I got the "correct room", but you can be the judge by the picture. I took the suite also because of the kitchenette, but there is only a mini fridge the size of a football that does not keep cold and with no ice. What is the point of the kitchen if you cannot keep even small items cold for food safety ?There is only 1 small washroom sink. Lighting is poor. The suite has a connecting door with neighbors that I could hear showering. The room is also not very clean: Stains, dust and hair on the floor and couch. Lastly, you pay for everything: Breakfest (OK), Room service fee (?), Sunbeds at the beach, Spa pool access, Parking. All those things separately are minor, but when you pay 475E+/night, I think you can expect better.

Exquisite experience; understated, ultra-modern luxury of truly 5-star property.Amazing variety of food, whether you are a meat eater, pescatarian or vegetarian. Homage to Madeira roots in every design solution at this utterly upscale hotel.Quality in every surface you touch.Very welcoming staff - they truly want you to enjoy your stay

None that I could nit-pick about

Super comfortable! Loved the spa options, the friendly staff, and the glorious location. It was beautiful and in a sunny location and in a quiet part of the island. We loved the Portuguese lesson when we arrived, the convenience of the parking, and the incredible views from the infinite pool on the roof. Also, the little snacks each day at 4:30 were a big hit for us!

    No complaints!

Breakfast was very good. View from Ocean front room was amazing.

Originally booked an ocean suite that was the farthest located room from the ocean and had an adjoining room that was a bit noisy. Moved to a SPE ocean room that was much better and actually ocean front. The interior of the resort is extremely dark and a bit dated. They charge €35 for a lounge by the rooftop pool (and all the other pools). There are children screaming and splashing all day. They need an adults only pool. Not good service by the pool lounge chairs.

I like the the design of the hotel .. I like the location and the weather.

Unfortunately, there were some cockroaches in the room and the allies

1.) Breakfast was great, but crowded - typical buffet style. 2.) The choice of restaurants, food was delightful. Specially the one on the beach. 3.) Nice views.

1.) The sun beds on the top floor by the pool had to be reserved for a fee, which is OK, but once reserved they put some wooden block on the table which in reality looks like it is available for anyone to take it and therefore creates a lot of congestion once someone sits and occupies the beds without any knowledge that they were already taken. 2.) Beach towels had to be picked up at the reception. No towels available at the spa either. You always have to ask for one.3.) No bathrobes or slippers in the room. Maybe it was my room.4.) Room towels were not changed at all. Even though the room was cleaned twice a day sometimes 5.) Dark light setting space in the lobby and whole ways. It's great for someone that likes the old rustic look.

Overall it was good but as we started out Madeira trip at Savoy palace, we had high expectation. The savoy palace has much higher standards, and it cost only 10% more.

It was nice but for the money we paid we expected more! No free parking , breakfast area is crowded and you have to find yourself a table, staff is not so welcoming, lot of them don’t know English. The pool was not ready on time. Few “small” things that do the difference.

Our stay in Madeira was simply unforgettable! The hotel was sparkling clean, modern, and beautifully designed. Every corner felt fresh and elegant. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding with a wide variety of delicious, high-quality options. The service was beyond fantastic – warm, professional, and attentive to every detail. We felt incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived until the last minute of our stay. Perfect location, cozy atmosphere, and truly a 5-star experience – highly recommended!

    Nothing!

Location, facilities. Everything was nice, well kept. Great breakfast. Lots of restaurants, multiple pools, beach access.

Location, well-maintained, clean, good assortment of amenities and services, friendly staff

One of the two elevators to our floor and the rooftop levels was out of order our entier stay, which caused some queue-ups and delays when going between levels.

Beautiful resort and rooms. Good restaurants and amazing views from any corner in the resort

The staff, especially the waiters weren’t very cordial or helpful. Our room was beautiful but the layout was weird. The entrance falls directly into the open concept bathroom, and the shower didn’t have a door which was very risky since it directly faced the entrance

It’s up class property … very good amenities , views of our suite was out of this world

Some of the staff were mean and shouldn’t be working at this specific hotel as they reflect bad feel / impression . Manger was excellent and handled the issues in a very professional and satisfactory way .

    10RohanPosted on: 6-28-2025

Amazing staff and room with an ocean view. Loved the pools and proximity to the beach. Luxurious all around and 30 min-1hr drive from all the main spots on the island. Breakfast was exceptional

Besides breakfast, the food options were not as good
