Pros +
- Beautiful setting, lovely room, great staff and good food. Hotel was perfect for our trip, lots of comfortable seating areas inside and out to take advantage of the beautiful views. Breakfast buffet was really good and we enjoyed dinner in the restaurant too. Parking at the hotel was plentiful also.
- Our room, number 410, was at the highest level and on the corner, with L-shaped balcony. We loved sitting out there with sea and mountain views.
- Rooms appear to have had a soft refurb, so mostly modern/clean/comfortable with decent beds. Bathrooms haven’t been done, but showers are good (enough hot water)Breakfast is decent enough with good coffeeSpectacular location
Cons -
- We knew the pool and leisure facilities were out of action when we booked but after a busy day out and about it would have been good to be able to swim taking in the great views, hopefully renovation work will be done.
- Was a little tricky climbing into the bath to use the shower.
- No coffee/tea facilities in roomDinner only starts at 8pm, and due to high quality of restaurant you need to book in advance (not informed before stay) with no other restaurants nearby that are open (it’s near the end of a dead end road)Swimming pool area currently closed due to erosion by sea

Little gem in an incredible nature scene. The view to the ocean was amazing, we enjoyed sunrise from bed every morning. The buffet was really good with a big variety. We loved the El Hierro Pineapple and the melon! The staff was very ambitious to male our stay as good as possible.

Pool was closed.Nowhere to lie out and rest.Didn't get a sea view
This is a fantastic hotel. Relatively small, no nonsense, comfortable, great service, wonderful breakfast, excellent quality for price. Simply no brainer when you're in El Hiero. Stayed only one night, did not try the restaurant for dinner.
Too bad about the outside pool being out of order. However, well advertised upfront so expectations set and not an issue really.
Comfortable rooms. Friendly staff.
Priority given to coach parties over other guests.
All the staff were very good, especially reception and the waiters-ess
I did not like having to wait until 8pm before I could have dinner. I normally eat much earlier.I bought a bottle of wine on my first evening and drunk half of it with dinner. I should have looked more closely at the label, it was 14% ABV which almost definitely means it has additives to disguise the true flavour. I was going to drink the other half the following evening but the morning after consuming the first half I felt ill so I left the bottle in my room. I hope no one else drinks it.
*Really* nice hotel. It's in a secluded area, easy to reach but sooo very peaceful. Nothing beats the sunrise there (do pay a bit extra to get the room with seaview, it's totally worth it!). Loads of parking.Breakfast is fab, the room is quite large and the bed is super comfy.
Everything was perfect :) (but it is a shame the swimming pool and gym were not fixed yet)
One of the most scenic locations we have ever stayed in (if you like the remote aspect)This place breathes Spanish quality. Super qualitative breakfast, helpful and friendly staff, clean & renovated rooms with very comfortable bathrooms incl. plenty of storage.
This place would get a solid 10 is pool, welness and gym area would have been accessible again (had some ocean damage). Even though it had been communicated transparently, it would give an extra dimension to the hotel.
Lovely room and bathroom. Nice location.
Poor service in restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. Breakfast- it took ages for anyone to acknowledge us, and then, having asked for tea, we were brought a teapot of hot water (no teabags!). Had to point out that we actually needed tea in the water ?. Arrived at breakfast an hour before end time, but many things had run out. Dinner- very slow service. Disappointing meal.
The hotel is very nice in a unique location amazingly beautiful. The hotel looks remodeled and the interior are very welcoming and pretty. The bed was super comfy, the view fantastic the room''s size perfect for two. We loved the breakfast.
The bath tub is slippery and the bath needs some restilish
The location was impressive
The elevator not working and the pool closed down
Beautiful location and building
The garden needs some attention
The location. The room terrace. The sea view. The sound of waves at night.
The breakfast was excellent and the view from our room.
Dinner and lunch wasn’t tasty. It didn’t mete our expectations at all.
Very comfortable room, the only sound in the night the waves! Beautiful location and very friendly staff. We had half board and very much enjoyed the tasty and varied breakfasts and choices for dinner. Would like to return once the swimming pool has been reconstructed.
Shame that the swimming pool had collapsed. But we knew about that before booking.
Quiet, traditional and clean
Pool would have been excellent but obviously an expensive fix from sea damage
Good breakfast, and the balcony and view from the room are lovely.
Dinner starts at 20.00 too late for us! Food was available in the cafe but kitchen doesn’t open until 19.30. I realise most Spanish eat late, but the hotel has many international visitors.
Quiet, off the beaten track and very close to the port and a short drive or bus journey from the main town.
The pool and spa are closed and broken. It didn't look like they would be able to be fixed any time soon. The price is high for no pool and such a remote location with no shuttle service to town. Although the area is called Las Playas there are only some days that you can swim and the swimming areas are nearby but not onsite.
