    Pros +

    • Pleasant
    • Staff excellent, room very comfortable, food excellent.
    • A good stop off for a night. The restaurant was full but we found somewhere else to eat which was excellent although not a huge choice in spite of being a Saturday night. We parked easily on the street but there’s a hotel car park @ €15 a night. The room was very quiet and we didn’t hear any trains from the nearby track.

    Cons -

    • There were too few staff on duty at breakfast which meant that (in spite of the ONE waitress's efforts) there were constant shortages: crockery, cutlery, even FOOD ! The coffee machine didn't work etc. etc. This meant that the price of breakfast was way too high for the actual breakfast itself. Surprising for a Mercure hotel.
    • Although very secure the car park was hard to find and needs to be better lit and marked out.
    • Restaurant was closed (not informed upfront about it)Aircondition didn't work properly. Need to keep window open to get cool fresh air inside the room but got nerved by the nosie of the street below the room .

    Clean

No proper restaurant not informed prior to booking

    3HughPosted on: 4-26-2024

Food was good both at dinner and for breakfast

No plug in the bath, no shower curtain, two lamps had no functioning bulbs all of the communal rooms were being refurbished but we were not told this and it wasn't reflected in the price. The room used as a stand in restaurant was very cold. The car park was very expensive at 14€ for one overnight stay. We had to wait ten minutes for check in as there was no one on the desk.

    Really poor Accor!!!!

Booked the property for the facilities as it was Good Friday and knew not a lot would be open in town. It was being renovated and only the restaurant was open. Really poor way to treat customers. The staff obviously couldn’t do anything.

    Big room and shower.

The breakfast was expensive but did not have healthy options as boiled or poached eggs, sugar-free cakes and pastries.

    7SahraPosted on: 10-16-2023

    Clean

Breakfast is not its money worth. Selections are not big. There was only some runny scrambled egg. No possibility to order exceptions if you have restrictions on Sunday as there is noch chef available. Run out of food o the second day. There was only one person working, he didn’t mange do clean the tables, all the time was something missing.

The underground parking, expensive but good.

Next to traintrack and you could hair the trains pass. Location didnt really get to see well.Room floor look damaged and repaired again, i think can need renewal. Outside carpet look old and allot of stains.

    7BernardPosted on: 8-11-2023

    Comfortable

We arrived after dark and got stuck in the underground Carpark. In the dark we didn’t see the height limit sign. Signage could be improved.

    8NancyPosted on: 7-8-2023

Clean room, although a strange configuration, friendly staff.

Not easy to access underground parking on one way street. Location in busy town centre not ideal when just passing through.

The rooftop pool and the restaurant

We couldn’t get our keycard to work!

The breakfasts were excellent and we invited guests for dinner one evening, which exceeded our expectations. But then this part of France is resound for its cuisine!

Nothing! The whole stay was first class. Staff most helpful when we asked them to book taxes for us. And generally helpful and friendly. The entire hotel is very modern, attractive and clean. We particually liked the courtyard.

    Nice rapid breakfast deal

Opening restaurant on a Sunday night

clean comfortable overnight stop with helpful staff

Restaurant was disappointing compared to when we ate there previously - limited choice (especially the wine list!) and the food, although good, was not of the quality we had on a previous visit

Good food, nice service, good recommendation for a nice local bottle of wine. Super comfortable bed. Very very quiet, despite the fact that hotel is next to v busy road (triple-glazing).

For a night's stay perfectly ok, longer stay be mindful it is in a very urban location.

    8GalitPosted on: 11-21-2022

Excellent location, attentive staff with great local recommendations.

    Not very clean

    9KatePosted on: 11-14-2022

A very comfortable hotel and friendly atmosphere. Staff were very courteous and professional. We asked to change rooms because the air conditioning wasn't working. This was arranged for us in a few minutes with no difficulty at all. The restaurant food was excellent and waiting staff were very helpful and the staff seemed happy and comfortable with each other and worked well as a team. Would definitely recommend this hotel to any one visiting or travelling through the area. Very dog friendly too.

    8MichelPosted on: 10-6-2022

The very fact that there was an actual parking space available, as announced, in the hotel property (basement), which is an condition indeed when stops over at Villefranche just for a transit and good food around. Other hotels than Mercure have disappointed us in announcing to us when arriving that the parking was full or not available. We make sure now to early detect false statements of the like.

The Hotel has actually another name and logo, so we lost time in finding it : Either Booking.com communicates on the actual name, or the hotel makes a 'Mercure' logo visible from the several (one way) Villefranche streets where it and the parking is located.
