It was very disappointing as the spa pool was not available. A limited choice of menu and a very limited choice in the location. The food was overpriced for what we had.
All of the above could have been better.Staff were excellent
Location + parking
Hairdryer - I had to keep my finger on it constantly and it hardly had any power.
Location and Thalasso facilities
The strict rules on facilities use, inflexibility of the staff, very expensive breakfast for its bare minimum offer.
spa. food and location was great
The younger staff in the spa were a little dismissive as i was British but did get an older lady who was very helpful.Tge young receptionist in the hotel lobby were fantastic
Reception area + bar and spa area
Food quality at restaurant not consistent. Poor lights in the bathroom. Ocean view partly hidden by hideous old building on opposite street side.
The hotel is beautiful and clean, and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean, and the bathroom and shower were very nice. Unfortunately, my wife got sick the night before we were due to leave, but the concierge kindly let us stay another night, so she could recover. We did not get a chance to take advantage of the spa or pool, but it looked very nice.
The Spa was really good, the room large with a nice size balcony. A large free car park was next to reception and the beach just across a quiet road.
Our toilet flush failed, it was fixed but didn't run correctly for our whole stay, it became inoperable, but I would press multiple times and it would start again.
Wonderful location, relatively close to the centre of Concarneau. Close to nice coastal walks.Spacious rooms.Small hallways inside our rooms could be closed, meaning you hardly hear what happens in the corridor.
Air conditioning in our 2 rooms did not work and even the internal fan (part of the airco system) brought very little comfort. One room was occupied by our son, who saved himself money while on an university exchange in a tropical location, by not using airco; even he found his room in this hotel too warm for comfort, especially at night. Reception staff not very helpful. Asked about the air conditioning issue, and had to come back several times. When we got nowhere with the airco, I asked reception for a fan; the first lady I asked could not find any, and asked me to come back in the morning. The next day I was told there are no fans; end of story. Sleeping with an open balcony door is not an option, as the road can be busy at night. All in all, I'm not a big 'fan' of this hotel... sorry. Our room had no chairs in it, so my wife asked reception. Response was very unhelpful, so we ended up using the chairs from the balcony instead. Water pressure in the shower insufficient, especially for hair washing. Internet speeds in the hotel are very, very, very slow, reminding me of the days of 'dial up' in a rural location. Again, this compares badly to other properties in Bretagne that market themselves as 4*. I saw several guests raise this issue with reception.Breakfast staff appear there to clear plates only; very unapproachable. You are given one plate/ set of cutlery per sitting, that's it. Food-wise, the breakfast offerings are mediocre at best. Bar staff very mechanical, not friendly. The hotel is showing signs of wear and tear throughout. All in all, and having stayed at several 4* properties in the same part of France, I feel this place performs below par and would rate this place no higher than a good 3* property. But one to avoid if hot rooms are a show-stopper for you.
Very good choice at breakfast Fresh produce regularly refreshed Staff very discreet and efficient
Lots of steps in and around the spa Not many rails to hold onto if you are afraid of slipping
Rooms were of a good size. Bathroom was smart. Outdoor pool was adequate with some reservation’s. The staff were welcoming and attentive. The car park was of a good size and convenient. The hotel presented well and would suit an older clientele looking for the spa experience.
It was summer and happily the sun shone brightly, which was nice. Unfortunately the south facing rooms heated up like little green houses. No problem, let’s cool things down with the air conditioning ; ahh, now we have a problem. After querying the lack lustre performance of our device, I discover that the hotel deliberately chooses to run the air conditioning systems as air circulation systems only; ie, they switch off and isolate the air conditioning part of the unit and allow it simply to re-circulate and move the hot air around in one’s room. Most irritating. We were a family group with younger children and were informed on check in, that only children above the age of fourteen could use the indoor pool due to there being hot spa jacuzzi’s and other adult only elements within the spa. This was annoying as it prevented my wife and I from using the spa facilities at all during our stay as we needed to be supervising our younger children. The outdoor pool was however a saving grace however it came with its own issues. It was relatively small, and was often busy. It was also decidedly “rule bound”. Signs abounded, no diving, no food, no beverages, no this, no that….. Obviously their intent was good, but in reality it made the outdoor pool decidedly dull. You were unable to sit on a lounger by the pool with a beer, watching your kids enjoying themselves in the water. Indeed, enjoying themselves in the water was at times “high risk”. Should your child decide to enjoy themselves excessively, woe betide them if they were to splash one of the older guests taking their sedate lengths, complete with immaculate hair do’s held in place by a bucket of hair spray. The hotel is a perfectly nice, attractive proposition if you are of a certain age, and wish to lozzock around in an oversized bath robe all day. If you have a younger family and wish to have a fun time with a cool room awaiting your return, then this is probably not the hotel for you.
Room upgrade, thalasso therapy pools and sauna, booking.com genius discount. Very clean room and bathroom. Friendly staff.
Restaurant set dinner may work better if there were simpler options.
it was very clean.
air con was virtually useless. bar was not welcoming. reception staff did not greet us once after we had booked in. no hello/goodbye or anything.
Location
Bar closes at 10.15 with lights turned out!Garden area in v poor condition Bar terrace not near BarShortage of staffNo milk for coffee
Super emplacement, face à la mer, proche de la ville close a pied.
Quitter l'hôtel !
size and soundproofing of bedroom, bathtub
'thalasso' is a mere heated pool, quite small in size.No shops and restaurants next to the hôtel, which is 25' walk from downtown Concarneau. The hotel is rather expensive.
The location was in walking distance of the town and had a lovely sea view. the out door pool was nice.
A lot of things seem to be broken. The safe in one of our rooms, the fridge in another. No wifi for the endurance of our stay.
that the parking was easily accessible and in front of the entrance of the hotel.
I was extremely disappointed by this hotel. The junior suite was small and very poorly decorated. My room within the junior suite was very noisy as the hotel is overlooking the main road. The swimming pool is in the middle of a garden surrounded by a ugly fence with no shade, no trees, no umbrellas either.Maybe it is because of the lack of experienced staff at the moment, but we had to deal with very unexperienced people who said no our requests before trying to find a solution.
