Grand Hotel Di Lecce

We chose this hotel as it seemed to be a short walk from the train station and close to the historic centre of Lecce. It didn't disappoint and, as we anticipated problems finding the centre of Lecce in our rental car, we were able to follow the frequent signs for "statzione" (albeit twisting and turning along the way) and discovered a very convenient large parking area next to the station. Fair to say, the Grand might have an air of faded grandeur about it, but nonetheless it proved a very comfortable overnight, very convenient for all the sights and providing a very fine selection for breakfast the following morning. All in all, very good value and an excellent location with elegant public spaces for seating. The hotel also has a large swimming pool in its garden area which must be very attractive in summer. We found by chance a nearby restaurant, Volo (in Via Paladini), which proved a charming spot for dinner.

The room was spacious and extremely comfortable. The pool and green surrounds very relaxing with bar service. Breakfast was varied and enjoyed either inside or outside.5 minute walk to the old town with its wonderful architecture which came alive in the evening with many restaurants and bars.Fabulous location, old town easily walkable with numerous attractions including piazzas and amphitheatre.

There was nothing we didn't like.

The TV was not working , the aircon was not working and we had to spent the night in 30c hot room because the staff said maintenance people will not be back untilThe next day , he said I will give you a discount tomorrow will leave a note to my colleague .. never happened The location is good but surrounded but it does not feel safe

We don’t like.Staff was not good.They were not clean our room after I told.Even they don’t get us bedsheet.We took for bed sheet the staff said we are coming to give you.We stay 2days.No one clean our room.They were not doing their job properly.

Rooms are clean, spacious, neat, comfy linen, beautiful decor. I had a balcony to view beautiful sunset & sunrise.Jacuzzi bathtub.Staff are so friendly & helpful, and made me a very early breakfast to go.Pool and garden courtyard area is a like haven.Walking distance to train station & old city.

Rest of hotel may have been grand once, now tired, faded & lost its lustre… Carpets outside rooms & on landings were very dirty, stained, not vacuumed.Smell in bathroom from drains, which I discovered in other hotels in Lecce as well.No basin drain covers so take care nothing falls in.Don’t choose a street room if you prefer quiet.

Room needs (very) minor maintenance- A key on the keypad of the safe is not working properly- The battery cover of the safe is missing, so batteries can get loose (if you know about this, you can still get the safe to work)- The handle of the window is loose- There is an occasional smell in the bathroomUnderstandably, hotel parking spaces are very limited. Station parking is available but the price is excessive, mainly because the full day rate does not apply for any 24 hour period - counting always restarts at midnight. It is hard to understand why the hotel doesn't have a special deal with the station car park.

Close to train station

The carpets are terrible in the communal areas/ hallways. You can see that this once would have been an impressive hotel but it is dated and needs a lot of improvement. There are tea/coffee making facilities really no milk and random teabags no coffee at all. The only eating option here is breakfast. One of our group was very ill and they did call a doctor for us. It did limit us to a kebab from a rather tatty looking eatery near by.

It is indeed a “grand” stylish old-school hotel. Our room was very spacious. Breakfast was good. Very convenient to the station.

Very good place to stay. Great customer service at the restaurant. Great customer care, hardworkingstaff, always ready to assist. Very clean room and very clean hotel overall. Excellent breakfast with attention to the details. High quality food and customer focused staff. Very close to the train station.Would definitely stay again next time. Highly recommended.

The old style was charming. The staff were very helpful and friendly. On site parking was a plus and the location is great.

it's a shame the pool garden area isn't maintained as well as it could be and the terrace isn't available as a solarium.

Great location minutes from old town with secure car parking. Lovely room with large bathroom. There's beautiful lounges to sit and relax in. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was included, there was a great choice and the young female staff member was very attentive.

Not significant, but a few areas such as corridors could do with updating.

The location is next to the station which needs a build over (no lifts). Central Lecce is easy walkable and all sights are a throw of a stone away.

The hotel needs a renewal as it in its years. Forget accessibility. And do not question where the four star rating comes from.

The staff were very attentive, friendly and always available for any queries or assistance. They are very polite and try their best to speak in English. We enjoyed our stay there so much ? ❤
