The minimalistic style with clean design and small size.

Great staff.

Staff was very nice checking me in. Although the room is smaller than what I’m used to, (I had the two twin bed room) which was fine because I was alone, the room and bathroom was very clean and cozy. The chicken wrap was fire. Room service was fast.

No complaints here.

It was easy to rest, eat and get to places.

The breakfast offered a good variety of food and the eating area clean and spacious with music playing in the background.

There were no towel racks in the bathroom so there was nowhere to put the towels.

The hotel was very basic and the rooms were older but clean. The lobby and on site dining was nice and convenient and staff very friendly and professional. The price was appropriate for the basic type of hotel room but it wasn’t what I was expecting based on the room photos.

The hotel is well located close to main point of Niteroi.

The hotel did not provide parking for guests. When I asked the front desk receptionist, he told me that I should have access to a private parking spot. However, he didn’t direct me to a safe parking area, so I had to park my car on the street.

The breakfast was delicious. The restaurant inside the hotel is great. The bed is firm but comfortable. The AC worked really well.

I only stayed one quick overnight, but it was perfect and convenient.

Great place to stay and in my opinion it made Niteroi seem like a better option than Rio to stay. Rio was super accessible but we were in a safe , secure, lovely hotel

We come for the Rio carnival for 15 nights. We love it.Hotel is very friendly and very beautiful. Everything was very clean. Housekeeping excelente room cleaned every single night.Everything work on our room no complaints. Food in the restaurant was excelente. Breakfast very good.My respects for Julio, Cintia and Danielle from the restaurant they made our stay the best they did everything possible to make us feel like at home.Victor and Erick from from the front desk very friendly and they help us in everything. Thank very much to everyone was a great stay at the hotel.

The breakfast, the friendliness and the helpfulness of the staff.There is a coffee machine that can also be used to heat water for making tea.There is an overall sense of comfort and the room is good (been great in the past).They can help you if you need to hire a cab (taxi).They are accommodating if you need extra days and they have availability.

The building is getting old but they are doing refurbishments so sometimes we need to be patient to get things sorted, like when the WiFi was down or when the lift was out of order, or there was no hot water for showering (intermittent - maybe other guests had used up all the hot water). The pillows are getting old and hard and this could easily be remedied. But they are still our preferred hotel in Icaraí.

The hotel doesn’t have Parking. We ordered a sandwich and it came with paper inside. One staff at the breakfast the bald one refused to get more cuscus for us. And the bathroom in the room is super small. The location is okay, the building is clean and the breakfast is ok as well!

After trying several hotels in Rio de Janeiro, we can confidently say that Hotel Matiz has become our favorite. What truly made our experience special was the people who work there. From the restaurant staff to housekeeping and reception, everyone was incredibly kind, attentive, and professional.Every detail is thoughtfully taken care of to ensure an exceptional stay. We loved using the free bicycles to explore the city, the well-equipped gym, and of course, the delicious and varied breakfast. The location is simply perfect, making it easy to visit the main attractions.We highly recommend Hotel Matiz and look forward to returning soon. Thank you for making our stay in Rio unforgettable!

- Great location right next to the beach in a beautiful, green neighborhood with lots of restaurants and cafés- The staff was helpful and nice- The breakfast was versatile and delicous

- Rooms and bathrooms are quite small for more than one person and rather old
