Hotel Cantareira Niterói

It was good that there was someone in reception at all times. We arrived late to the hotel (12:00 am to 2:00 am) several days during our stay and there was always someone in reception. Another good aspect is the location, since we were at a walking distance to our meeting place. The breakfast was really good, it was a great way to start your day.

Communicating with staff was really hard, since they did not speak English or Spanish (I don´t know Portuguese). We never got an invoice from them, they never understood that we needed one and they just made us fill up a paper with our info and we are waiting for the invoice by email. Requesting invoices is a standard procedure in all parts of the world and you get it immediately, but not in this hotel! The hotel seems old, our room had a terrible drainage smell and the bed sheets were not clean. For the price we paid, I think we should have deserved better.

My room was pure mold. I couldn’t stay at all since I have strong allergies. Didn’t canceled because it was of use for my parents since they had an event nearby and the staff let them use it instead of me, which was nice of them but also the bare minimum they could have done. It was the most terrible hotel room I’ve seen. Don’t put moldy rooms for booking. That’s not what your guests paid for.

Breakfast was good! The towels were cleaned.

The pillows had a foul odour. The location wasn´t really great. The staff were good. The Terrace is really tiny. The shower was terrible.

broken lock in “varanda”. I had to lock it using a towel and they didn’t bother trying to fix it. Another thing is: they didn’t clean the room floor during my four days stay

there is no parking facilitie, just 10 spots for maybe 100 rooms...bath and bed clothes too old...the breakfast is served in a very warm place even with 2 ac's....no one clean the breakfast tables you must do it...
