Fenix Family Hotel

The hotel was nice, about a 10-minute walk from the center. It’s a bit outdated, but very clean. For this area, I think it’s one of the best places to stay since alternatives are limited. The bed and bathroom were both clean and comfortable, and compared to the price, it was more than we expected,

The room was clean and comfortable. It was nice to have a cafe attached.

There is no lift. There was no bottled water and no coffee service in the room. There is absolutely nothing interesting to see within 20 minutes walking. If your inseam is less than 33 inches, you'll have a hard time stepping into the bathtub.

It was really clean everywhere. We had shampoo and a nice soap. Cosy, cute rooms.

Unfortunately the said in Booking messages was totally not true and different with the conditions on the reception. Total lack of communication. We were promised with rooms next to each other, but they had 2 floors difference, we were promised that the crib will be taken out, but when we arrived, it was there. Very old bathroom stuff.

The restaurant of this hotel was very good.

The lack of misquito screens at the windows and the fact everytime i get at this hotel they do provide the same room at the very upper floor where the walls are hot due to the south exposure..

This hotel is in a great location inbetween the bus station and the main square. It's easy to walk around the city from here. The room was a good size and comfortable, with air conditioning. There was a small fridge. When I asked to change my room (using Google translate) due to a smell, they kindly and quickly changed it for me.

The first room had a damp, musty smell. I was also expecting a room with a balcony and double bed. They changed the room for me to one that smelled fine but still had 2 single beds and no balcony. The smoke from another person's room/balcony made this room smell smokey!

The host was nice.

The room we stayed in was exactly behind the bar on the ground floor. It was noisy, every time someone made a noise we were hearing it. We weren't able to rest normally. I don't suggest someone visiting it for a rest. Also, there was a bad smell all the time.

Clean, comfortable beds, near markets, close to center, can eat on the property.

Good location for transit. Staff was polite, we found parking fairly quick right next to the hotel. Nice restaurant/bar downstairs with very good prices.

From a first impression (we only stayed for half an hour), the studio was very clean and the beds seemed comfortable, it was good for a family with 2 children and the price was ok. The lady at the reception was nice.

We didn’t stay at the property in the end as we considered parking on the street and the neighbourhood to be unsafe. There are only 3 marked parking spaces in front of it (not sure if those were from the hotel or not), which were taken already. We were afraid to just leave the car on the street, where there were no marked parking spaces there, even if the lady at the reception said it was ok. Maybe it was, but since we were travelling with 2 young kids and the car was a very expensive and work one, we didn’t want to take the risk. I guess I should have read the description more carefully when I booked. In the end we decided to pay for the room and search something else, with private parking.

A unique "value for money" family hotel in a great location of Blagoevgrad. Clean rooms with all necessary amenities and home made food, right on spot. The staff is extremely friendly and ready to help any moment.

Good location if you travel by bus or train. Receptionist didn’t speaker english but arranged a mobil call with a person who did. That worked well!

Nothing bad to add

Cute little hotel. Excellent location - a couple hundred meters from the bus station and a few hundred meters from the City Center. The room was clean. There is a nice little cafe at the front of the hotel. The owners (husband and wife team) were warm, friendly and helpful. The price and overall value were excellent (about $ 45 CAD per night). The neighborhood is quiet and mainly residential but there are some stores and restaurants nearby. I would stay here again because of the convenience and value factors.

I found the beds and pillows to be uncomfortable; however, this is not exclusive to this hotel. I am picky with regards to bed comfort and I have stayed in many hotels (including in Canada and the USA) where I found the beds to be uncomfortable. Because the hotel is small, I found it to be a bit noisy sometimes in the evenings or late at night.

+ The price was really ok for one night because we have travel from Greece to Romania+ You can find free parking spaces outside on the road free of charge

- ROOM 103 must NOT be rented until you solve the problem with the bad smell, there is a smell of mold or water infiltration and they have put perfume or some perfume sticks inside to cover this smell but during the night you can not breathe because you fill you get no air because of the smell. Please solve the problems before you rent this room anymore. This is not acceptable because I am sure you know about the problem otherwise you would not try to cover the smell with perfume- we have book for 10 persons 2 x family rooms and we have receive 3 rooms in total but only with 9 places in total but this was not big deal since we have take a small kid with us in a double bed
