Our room was “sterile”. No art or decorations. Maybe this was because we had dogs with us.

Andrea was amazing!! He made us feel welcome before we arrived. I reached out prior to arrival and all my questions were answered. The entire experience at this hotel was over the top. We will return. It was difficult to leave because of the kind and authentic attention and exceptional service. The food for breakfast is fabulous. The dinner was excellent. Thank you, Gaetano, for the wonserful service and conversation. The best surprise is they have a master pastry chef and the breads, tortes, and baked goods are truly special. The fig and nut bread is worth the stay alone!!

I can’t think of anything that would have improved the stay. It ws lovely.

The hotel staff were immensely kind and helpful. Not only did they they help us with anything we needed (from car parking to dinner reservations) but they even surprised us with a homemade cake for my husband’s birthday at breakfast that morning. Rooms were large and very clean. And the hotel itself is well situated, just a short walk to all attractions.

The only issue I had was that the mattresses were not comfortable - they were very hard which meant we did not sleep well.

Staying at Hotel Rua Frati 48 in San Francesco was an incredible experience! I was in town for the Cosmoprof fair in Bologna, and choosing this hotel was the best decision. Just a 45-minute drive from the fair, it provided the perfect balance of convenience, comfort, and luxury.The rooms are absolutely stunning—spacious, elegantly designed, and full of character. The dining experience was outstanding, with delicious food and impeccable service. But what truly made my stay special was the amazing staff—warm, professional, and always ready to assist with a smile.and they have a valet parking!After a busy day, returning to this hotel felt like coming home—serene, luxurious, and welcoming. If you’re visiting Modena or need a great place to stay for events in Bologna, I highly recommend this hotel. I will definitely return!

The staff at this hotel were wonderful. They helped us get our car parked, made lunch reservations and walked us part way to our dinner location. The apertivo and breakfast were also great. After staying in houses/apartments for most of our trip, we greatly appreciated the luxuries of a nice hotel - the room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and a big shower!

Lovely property - very comfortable, great style and sense of history, fabulous breakfast - one of the best we have had, and above all great staff, in particular Andre on the front desk who could not have been more professional, helpful, kind and generous - he made our stay extra special and is a real asset to the hotel. We loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer - very highly recommended! Moderna is a delightful city to visit and this is the place to stay - just a short walk to everything you might want to enjoy.

The hotel is in a great location at the south end of the city center. It is beautifully decorated and appointed. The staff couldn’t be nicer or more helpful. Eager to help in any way. Our room was a very spacious and comfortable suite. Plenty of closet space.Bathroom was nice. We had a sitting room with a good desk. Nespresso machine was a very welcome amenity. We appreciated it. Breakfast buffet was amazing. Nothing you could want after that. We were there to go to Osteria Francescana. It is a block away from this hotel. But we enjoyed the market, the Palazzo Duvall, churches and Ferrari museum. We also ate at Francescetta. The best little burger and tortellini with Parmesan sauce anyone can have anywhere. Period. It’s a bit remote but would return to experience it again.

From the minute we walked in we were welcomed like family . I can’t say enough about Andrea - he was friendly , helpful went above and beyond . I travel extensively for work and have never had this level of welcoming at a hotel. Andrea helped with all tours , drivers and was always there to greet us with a smile .Room was big and comfortable . Breakfast was delicious with many options . The bar was perfect for appertivo and snacks . Modena was lovely and will definitely be back .

Amazing staff. Andrea was so helpful with everything! The provided toothbrush and toiletries was a nice touch. Also the pillow menu came with the most comfortable pillows ever

The bathroom could have been a little cleaner. The bathtub was missing some covers for the jacuzzi jets.

the most important thing for us is a good night sleep which we did not get.very uncomfortable bed and pillows. noice in the bathroom all night and no shower, only a jacuzzi.

The breakfast and location were great. Staff was super helpful.

The room, extremely expensive for what it was, had no character, dirty and scuffed floors-- and limited amenities. The "spa" tub did not work. If the staff and breakfast had not been so pleasant, this would be a much more negative review. We've never paid so much for a mediocre room, and felt taken advantage of.

The location is great. Staff were very friendly and super helpful with bookings and directions. Room was very clean - nice bathroom.

Only negative and maybe it's personal taste but for an old building it had very little charm - modern decor, very bland, felt like a corporate hotel yet could be so much more charming. It looks like it's been stripped off all the old characteristics and the current furnishings & decor are very out of place.

Had great difficulty driving to the hotel from Modena, as car's satnav got us lost in a maze of very narrow streets, in which, following satnav instructions, we went round and round. People we asked did not know the hotel and were unable to help. Eventually, ignoring satnav instructions, we went in an opposite direction and luckily came across the hotel's road.

The property is in great shape and is well maintained.

The furnishings in the room were spartan / limited. Though I understand the aesthetic I would expect more.
