Royal Yao Yai island beach resortA seven year old hotel , let’s say a new hotel . With around 200 rooms .Tho worst hotel I’ve visited in my 43 years. I’m easy and not picky but that’s absolutely fooling people with photos and in accurate information ets1- hygiene : room isn’t that clean, bugs in sheets , beds are not changed daily until requested, no enough towels in the room , used plates with some rest of food , cups and glasses for several days on the floor of the corridors not picked up.Strange stink in the room cause of the painted wood and the stink of the air conditioning system was so bad .The toilet pipes was night so stinky.2- staff : language is a huge barrier so they don’t understand what you want. Restaurant staff not friendly at all.3- restaurant : so crowded no chance to find a table I needed to take my breakfast to my room to be able to sit and eat. And my room needs 7 minutes to walk from the restaurant.A huge mess roomEggs counter you need to wait minimum 10 minutes to be served on a queueBread was not fresh it’s so hard to eat was dry.On top all dishes and glasses are hand washed nothing with dishwasher hygiene 5 stars hotel used.4- front office and reception : the scheduled my key to be disabled to work 48 after my check in though I booked for 5 days . In 30 heat weather temperature and after laying 5 hours in the sun and walking 10 minutes to your room and my key stopped working and house keeping asked me to go back to the reception to have new keys. Shameful5- pool : full of sand and kids Urin no chance to swim. A lot of mothers send their kids with pampers to swim.6- outside sun beds : you need to run at 6 am to reserve a sun beds. Cause no control of this hotel. Strangers from other bungalow can use all the facilities of the hotel and they walk mornings with their families and reserve sun beds . The first three days was no chance to swim in the beach cause didn’t have a place to sit or lay.

Location and waterslide and pool.

The concierge guy is amazing, very capable and responsive!!!The restaurant had great and fresh food, but somehow one morning they let us “take away” breakfast for our trip, but the next morning “policy do not allow”. So we had no breakfast.Pool is large and clean

Check in takes very long time. Almost 1h.Room wasn’t ready. We got room of other people with their stuff inside.The hotel staff is incapable.Very kind peoplemost of them don’t know English, not how to solve problems.The room was dirty even after room cleaning, we had to ask for it twice, they came to clean at 21:00.The hall is dirty with sand, dust and used dishes. For the whole day.Gym is poor with NO AC (!!!!!!!) and aweful smell.

Location and Resort

We expected kitchen accessories along with gas stove. Room had gas stove but no dishes and bowls.

The location, facilities, comfort and cleanliness of the rooms.

Some rooms are overlooking a parking lot and the street, both extremely close to the windows of the room. People desiring more privacy should be aware of that prior booking.

The beach was great. Shallow, calm easy to swim. Lovely sunsets a couple of nights. Fantail boats picked people up right on the shoreline. Great pool area, lots of chaise lounges. Breakfast was very nice but numerous tripping hazards in the breakfast room. You need to pay attention! Staff was very accommodating! Restaurant had tables right at the waters edge but service could be a bit casual. Still, a lovely setting. Great mango smoothies!

The resort allowed smoking around the pool… mostly Europeans so smoking was a real issue. It got to be very irritating. This is very much a family oriented resort, so lots of kids (which we like) but you should know that going in.The staff did not have good communication skills. We reached out about help getting there… they brushed us off, so we booked a ferry from Thalane Pier. Not a great choice! Getting to Yao Yai Royal Beach resort can be a bit of an ordeal. The ferry terminal is 35 minutes from the resort. Most taxis are open pickup trucks. Ok when you are young but…..

Breakfast was fine. The food at the bar was really good. Massages on the beach. The Gypsy bar.

Very isolated. Could have used additional cabanas. Needs an update. Water was not clear.

The place, location and the surrounding is so serene. Staff is so nice and kind. The view was perfect.

Breakfast can be improved.

Its very luxurious resort, great facilities, beaches, pools. Room was very clean, elegant.

Breakfast was so limited, only few selections.Also nothing around the hotel , need a bike or car to move around

Not enough staff in the restaurants

Location by the beach is great. Our room was large and bed was comfortable.

The pool is large and was green from algae for 2/3 days. Not acceptable. Shower was mouldy and could be better cleaned. The gym is in a sad state with minimal equipment. We sat in the cafe having drinks in the afternoon and they blasted loud music. What a turnoff!

Everything... the beds were huge and comfortable the breakfast was fantastic with a great choice

Absolutely nothing

Not much. Aircon stank like ammonia/urine. Don’t recommend staying there unless you want to have a trip to the hospital

The air con is not maintained and full of bacteria/mould

The pool and beach were lovely. My kids loved the slide and the kittens. Free kayaks were good fun when it was not too hot and the hotel is located in a great place close to shops and restaurants and massage parlours. The breakfast was delicious with many options and also the customer service was great. Smooth check in and welcome and we were able to extend our check out too

The tiles around the pool were very hot and slippery

Location was right next to the beach and breakfast was also good. There were a lot of shops located right next to the hotel. Sunset at the beach is stunning there.

The staff was not very helpful and responsive

The rest was good, the service was warm, the surrounding environment was comfortable, and the entertainment facilities were complete

The hotel environment is very good, and it is convenient to play not far from the beach. The staff provided excellent service and enthusiastically helped me with my luggage to solve problems. I am extremely satisfied
