    Pros +

    • I was a bit worried about some of the reviews but we had a great stay at Taro Beach, the rooms were big cool and clean, the food had great variety and was fresh, definitely good value for money and suited our party age 12-82 which is a big ask. The staff were always friendly and helpful but at times it seemed there was not enough so I will put that as a negative comment only to get them some support, Bruno in the Restaurant was a stand out leader of his workforce and always willing to help, 10/10 for Bruno!
    • Spacious room with a 60 second walk downstairs straight onto the beach. The staff are excellent, very friendly. Terrace has a nice patio with tables and chairs. A/C plus free WIFI. The beds are large with a firm mattress and a good size sofa and TV. Food was ok, had a large selection with breakfast dinner and lunch plus all inclusive has a bar outside right on the beach.
    • Hotel is situated right at the beach. We had a sea view apartment with a big terrace and amazing ocean view. The food was good with quite a few vegetarian options. Unfortunately, the sofa bed for my mum has negatively overshadowed our stay as it was literally single bed attached to the top of the sofa. Very tiny even for a child, let alone for an adult and quite uncomfortable! Guests were mainly German seniors and it felt like I was in Germany as even entertainment was in German. Not recommend for young people.

    Cons -

    • More staff needed at times, the load seemed unfair on the Restaurant and Bar staff especially as the Hotel appeared to be full, they definitely need more support and always worked very hard to help when asked. - its down as a negative but only to suggest more staff please
    • only 2 plugs, needs more sockets
    • Ridiculous, small, single bed on top of sofa, should not be called sofa bed! But small single, child bed! Also, cocktails quite a bad quality, the entertainment bar in the evening was quite worn out with a bad , alcohol smell

Hotel was very good. Location and views were fantastic. I wanted a few days away to relax and this is exactly what I got. Rooms were a bit basic but at end of day it's only somewhere to sleep at night. Food served at the restaurant was very good, a large selection every night. Pool area was fantastic and staff were very welcoming.

Only downside I had was the all inclusive drinks package. The selection and quality of drinks were poor. Maybe if they offered a premium option with a different selection of drinks or the all inclusive only covered certain drinks and you could pay if you wanted for others. I wouldn't mark the hotel down for this those because instill had a great few days here.

Close to beach. Nice small hotel with swimable pool- water not too cold. Beautiful views. We did not stay at property which was a shame due to their mix up with our booking - they sent us to SBH beach resort which was the worst experience and far from the nice sandy beach.

Can't comment on rooms. But do stay away from SBH Costa Calma Beach resort. Rooms were clean but beds aweful and uncomfortable. Meal times were stressful and too busy. Dirty dishes and cutlery. Not enough staff for this huge property. We did not spent time there. Only plus: lovely pool areas with loads of sun beds and areas where you can catch some sun.

The staff was great, food was good, a bit repetitive but ok. The location is amazing, really nice views, bar next to the beach has great views and the beach is very close to the hotel and the water is clear.

First - The room allocated to us was near a compressor or something similar, and every day was starting from 5.30AM. Having a baby is not that pleasant to have him wake up every day so early, especially being in holidays. - The second thing is that one of the closets was always visited by 'ants', and we found a couple even in bed ?.- Third- I have booked with booking for a price, but at check-in we had to pay £30 more, and to be honest this was not fair - would have been nice to be informed first by the members of the hotel.

The Hotel is ideally situated with direct access to the beach and 5min walk from a bus stop with frequent connections. All the staff is very friendly indeed and they try very hard to get everything right. The rooms are spacious, if a little tired, but there is a good sized fridge in all of them, which is great. Nice balcony with unobstructed sea view.

Unfortunately too many things did not work out. The food (although plenty of choice) is bland and only few local items offer real flavour. During my last stay, you had to pay for internet access in your room, and it worked. Now it is free and it does not work. A combination of holiday with a little bit of "home-office" is not possible. They congratulated me 6 days late for my birthday and the promised bottle of bubbly never turned up.

The location was great and our room was right in front of the beach. The restaurant had a good variety of food and the quality was overall good.

    1) When we arrived the restaurant was about to close. There is only one flight per day, they could keep it open a little longer considering that clients have no other choice. 2) The overall look and feel of the place is quite dated and lots of areas are in desperate need of maintenance. This place has been neglected for too long and I started doubting about the safety of a few spots at some point.3) Our bathroom had a dome skylight broken and the bathroom was a total mess. The hotel sent someone to clean up but we had to wait until next morning for the repairs.4) Our room wasn't at all like in the pictures and looked like a motel from the 80s.5) Clients smoking everywhere outside of designated smoking areas and nobody really cares about it even if you have kids.6) Most of the staff wasn't freindly at all, some of them were actually angry at people. The only exception was just one excellent lady at the reception who spoke multiple languages and was really super helpful with many things.

close to the ocean beach, good food in the restaurant, good evening events for kids (many thanks for 2 of your women which made these events)

It is absolutely not a 4 star hotel, I’m not sure who and when checked this hotel for the rating Very slow WiFi even near the reception and you will never get it in the roomOld furniture and everything looks very old especially in the bath roomNo tea for dinner No kettle, fridge and water bottles in the room No AirCondition in the room Absolutely non-comfortable beds and pillowsMany questions to cleaning: why these workers don’t want really to clean room?? They just adjust toilet paper and shower soap, clean the floor, change towels and that’s it. Never wipe the dust. Also strange that cleaning sometimes can happen at 4pm or 5pm?! Why so late? Why other hotels do this during early mornings? Also this place is absolutely noisy for family with kids: we had the room near the reception and I was surprised first when at 5am a delivery of goods or food to a restaurant arrived, I’m not exactly sure, but they rumbled all morning and it was impossible to sleep, and so on several times a week. Why are you doing this??? Are you not sure that your clients want to sleep at 5am?? We closed our window but it was noisy also, really really noisy. Unbelievable.Laundry near the room window and almost all the time it was really noisy.Dirty plates in the restaurant: sometimes you just spend time to search between plates to see which of them is clean. One day my daughter took one plate and it was piece of pancake under it.So I’m really sad that I chose this hotel, definitely will not recommend it.

Nice location with beach very close to the hotel, spectacular views, good food with helpful staff and chef cooking extra food for child if requested. Location less windy compared to other parts of island.

Single bed was too narrow and high, my 4 y. Old daughter fell of it twice first night. There was no kettle in the room. Free WiFi only available at reception. Staff speak German even knowing you're not from Germany.

clean facilitiesfriendly and polite staff beachfront location

the hotel has been 2/3 vacant with plenty of rooms available and yet we did not get the sea view room offered but the 2nd line room with the view to face the front line hotel rooms instead

great value for money, stunning location and views, food ok

lack of Spanish dishes, seafood, quality of coffee and wine

    6IngeborgPosted on: 4-4-2023

Very close to public transport and direct access to a beautiful beach. Staff at reception were very friendly and really did go the extra mile to help.

Bedding was not changed once over the 2 weeks. Very limited provisions for early breakfast if you wanted a day out. Buffet was sufficient, but especially vegetables and pasta did taste of nothing.

Good location, beautiful flora within the complex.

No wifi, quite outdated furniture, extremely soft and springy beds.

The hotel is very good, albeit some things here and there they can improve. The rooms are large, cleaned everyday and the beds are large sized. The food is good, there is a choice of few bars in the Hotel and they have covered you for drinks and snacks as well. The location is best in Costa Calma with a Supermarket and Pharmacy just outside. The beach in along the hotel and the hotel has a beach bar as well. It was my first resort holiday and I absolutely loved it. Will I go back to Hotel Taro, most definitely!

Costa Calma is not Spanish, it's very German. Other than the janitors, everyone around in the Hotel and Costa Calma is German and so were the guests - mostly elderly German couples. I wouldn't personally rate Hotel Taro as 4 start, though the hotel is great. There was no complimentary water in the room, no kettle for the odd time tea or coffee (though tea was available in bars most day), the safe in the room had to be rented, the WiFi had to be paid for, and there was no iron facility in the room - for a 4 star all inclusive package, these things would be basic. The reception staff unlike other places have no clue or suggestions on what to do locally - didn't find them very helpful. Would I go back to Fuerteventura, absolutely not.
