    Pros +

    • Ski in - ski out was awesome! The staff were extremely helpful and took pride in what they do. Entertainment (afterski) everday was exciting and got the guests motivated. The hotel restaurant and bar are delicious.
    • Staff was super friendly. We loved the room we stayed in... it was super cozy! Breakfast was delicious and the funicular was a great amenity to have to get to and from the town. We loved the location. It was perfect for the holidays.
    • Beautiful views

    Cons -

    • The only thing I can possibly think of is the angle of the staircase leading to the main sleeping area inside the room. It's a bit steep and may be difficult to climb after a few to many adult beverages.
    • A bit far from everything and the room a bit small
    • small rooms, no coffee maker/kettle in the room

great location for skiing, helpful staff, close to bergbanen

small rooms, no coffee maker/kettle in the room

    9MariaPosted on: 4-24-2025

The location, the interior, the warm tubs, the breakfast the food, the staff

That there were no elevator down to the bottom floors and that help with carrying bags was not offered upon arrival (because of this). There was a smell of mildew at bottom floor.

Cozy hotel with a great location and very friendly staff! Generous breakfast and good dinner."

The room was outdated and in need of a refit. The TV was small and very old with poor sound quality. The plastic trim on the shower wall was falling off.

Fantastic location right on the slopes. Incredible views. Enjoyable food. Helpful staff. Apres ski band top notch. And just a lovely building throughout.

Can't think of a single thing! Actually, just thought of one thing - it'd be nice to have a kettle in the room, but that's pretty much it :-)

Beautiful cosy hotel. All staff I encountered were excellent. The half board option was fantastic. The quality of the food offered was outstanding.

An expensive hotel but then this is Sweden!

Obviously a good location but wont stay here again

NOISY, if they have a function/conference/event the noise reaches bedrooms, its like trying to sleep in a nightclub, this went on until 2.00 am.Breakfast average.Rooms very small

We loved the hotel’s location, as we were able to hop on our skis first thing in the morning, while getting down to town was just as easily accessible with the little mountain lift. We especially appreciated that our dogs were the most welcome, also meeting many more furry friends during our stay. In addition, we were able to utilize the relaxation area (including the outdoor hot tubs) with no additional cost, which was a perfect way to rest and relax.

The á la carte dinner menu could have a bit more options, better portion sizes. However, we had the chance to try the Christmas dinner, and it was a truly wonderful 4 course meal, where the chefs went over and beyond to cater to the special allergy needs of 2 of our family members. The options for such special dietary needs can be a bit disappointing in some cases, but not at Hotel Fjällgården! The special meals were just as delicious if not more than the regular version of the meal.

Breakfast was limited but OK, this is understandable since it was off-season and it was communicated in advance.

It was a little cold in the lobby area and the dining room. Could have spent a little more on heating.Live fires is also nice, hope thy do that now and then in the season, the fake stuff becomes weird with the low temperatures indoors that experienced this weekend.

    8SandraPosted on: 9-17-2024

Breakfast was good, quiet, wonderful view.

Could have been cleaner. Found a stain on the sheets and on the seating of the chair in the dining room.

    10RonaldPosted on: 8-20-2024

The location, view, ambiance and staff all were great. Oh yes and the weather helped too.Dinner and breakfast with the best possible view over mountains and the lake.We had a room with the same view, so if possible try to choose a room marked with the view you want.Even the fact that you get a real key is part of the ambiance, it simply all fits together.

This doesn't happen often: nothing not to like.

Always a pleasure to visit Fjällgården! We had a lovely time, and the staff were very helpful. Location has brilliant views. Will definitely be back!

    Nothing, it is excellent!

    Cleanliness and location

Breakfast could have been bit better. The beds are very old so the mattress needs replacement probably.

    9RonaldPosted on: 7-7-2024

The views,.The interior decoration. Diner and the friendly staff. Comfortable beds.

The curtains were not large enough to cover the window bay. No issue regarding privacy but very light in the room during the Swedish summer nights.

    7DennisPosted on: 6-23-2024

Location was the best, in the summer a lot of walks start and end at the hotel. View is amazing!

The limited breakfast was extremely limited. No warm food was available. It's understandable that in the offseason they don't have much, but at least some bacon and scrambled eggs would have come a long way! It was also not mentioned on Booking.com, or their own website. We only heard it via message the day of our arrival. We specifically booked a hotel and not a cabin to get a lovely breakfast and prepare ourselves for long hikes and mountain biking.

    10VirvePosted on: 6-12-2024

Nice and comfy place. We were there at the offseason and we really enjoy the peace and the view. Room was clean and staff was really nice.

    9KevinPosted on: 4-15-2024

Location was great for skiing straight onto the slopes. Atmosphere was great for the apres bar and then nice and relaxing in the evenings. We took the half board option and the food was excellent with different meals every night and the staff were always smiling and friendly.

Room was a bit small but no real inconvenience.

    location

The chocolates from Åre chocolate factory which are sold in reception were expired, we bought from reception. Not enough parking place, be ready to park it down then walk misrably to the hotel. This info should be prominently presented in the booking com website. since it is impossible to create additional parking place, i suggest the hotel management to have a Vale service, then it will look like a real hotel.Room was so chlostriphobic, so small, either upgrade to delux or be ready to simply pay so much money for a small cottage room. bathroom was stupidly designed. The sink and the tap were placed in a stupid way, it is impossible to was your hand without your hand touching to the sink. The spa: mens changing room floor was not clean, the personnel should go there to wipe the floor sometime, instead of sitting and do nothing.
