    Pros +

    • Great location in a great reserve! Always a treat to visit!
    • The property looks stunning. We wanted a family friendly place n it was perfect
    • Location, quality of accommodation

    Cons -

    • Neighbors were slightly noisy during the evening, especially in such a peaceful setting.
    • Misleading advertising. Believed to have booked a river view unit only to find out it is not. No communication from reception prior to arrival. No direct access to the Kruger National Park. Only upon arrival to find out the bridge is not operational. Shop and Reception: Limited opening times. Chalet 20 had a few cockroaches. Believe that the establishment is highly overrated for the costs incurred.
    • That they only change towels on Tuesday’s so we had no towel changed and that they have a 22:00pm curfew

    Location, quality of accommodation

Power issues - load reduction/ not coping with heat (appears to be a problem in Hectorspruit).

Affordable and regular game drives, mobile spa, daily room service and spacious rooms with private pool that’s useful during the summer

Management staff is awful! One day we were without electricity for over 5 hours. We contacted the emergency number provided and there was no response until the next day. They simply replied “sorry we didn’t have signal and hope it’s resolved.”No compensation was offered for the BAD SERVICE and NEGLIGENCE OF NOT ANSWERING AN EMERGENCY NUMBER especially considering the fact that we had an infant with us without our own transport. God forbid this was a real emergency!!!! I’ve never stayed at a place where the reception / host does not answer any queries for an entire day!!!!After advising them that we feel they need to offer some type of compensation they claimed to give me a free game drive valued at the price of a game drive for 5 people when only 1 person took the last game drive. So they claimed the compensation value was over R900 when in fact it was valued at R185. Daylight robbery!!!! The rangers are also average too. Some lack enthusiasm, you need to keep asking them about the animals rather than them just sharing the knowledge they have. Quite disappointing! The main pool was also being renovated! It’s like 35 degrees and peak season so one would expect this to have been done before peak. Will never stay at this place again because of their poor attitudes

The chalet was large and well-stocked for a self-catering stay.

No cleaning services on a Sunday. Extra charges to enter the reserve that was almost R1000, these aren’t listed when booking and come as a surprise after the reservation is made. The entry procedure into the reserve gate takes a long time, and the staff there were really not great, they were slow and did not seem to know what they were doing. It sets a bad tone for that to be the first encounter.

Good value for money, enough space for a big family. Enjoyed the game drive

I wasn’t notified about the R350 vehicle levy before hand. Only found out when we arrived. Also the code to enter the property was not given to me. Had to call reception when we arrived

Your own deck and pool with a magnificent view over the river!

    7LizelPosted on: 8-12-2024

    Great location!

Tiles and showers needs a good clean! A brush and some handy andy! Other than that, everything was great!

    The quietness

The property needs a lot of maintenance.. small attention to detail lacking..bathroom basins..very low water pressure.. lack of sufficient towels for swimming pool.

Mjejane remains a top favourite and the bush lodge is an exceptional offering - the unit we stayed in was large and well equipped with a wood fire hot tub on the roof

    Everything was great

I like everything about the place, it is like heaven on earth. The peace you get is put of this world. I was able to spot 3 of the big five plus many other animals, my children ranging from 3 to 11 years enjoyed the stay and want to go back. I'm definitely coming back

They have a beautiful chalets they outdid themselves on bedrooms & specially I loved the outside shower ?. We saw different kinds of animals, we had two visitors which were elephant at night when we were sitting in the balcony we saw cheetah & lions fighting. I can write a whole book about my stay and the property it’s self❤️.

    Nothing?

Nice place close to shopping centre and the location was clear

The room’s because my sleep was not so good you can hear people talking from next door

    10KarinPosted on: 4-11-2024

The unit we stayed in overlooked the nature serve and we had fantastic game viewing from our patio. The office and game viewing staff is exceptionally helpful and accommodating.

You can not do game drives in your own vehicle.

    10ChristaPosted on: 4-8-2024

We were in self catering unit and everything was splendid.

The only thing I would like to change with our next visit is to rent a chalet on the river - would love to be able to watch the constant migration of animals through the river

    7MarthiePosted on: 4-4-2024

    Accommodation was good.

The private game drive was a total ripoff. We only received water but expected a sundowner or some snacks. At R 1 600 it was a bit steep. We were on many other game drives who really made it special. This one does not even compare to others.

    8NickyPosted on: 4-3-2024

Beautiful serene atmosphere, great deck overlooking the river.

We had booked a night drive at the Kruger and prepaid. Had to cancel due to gate time closing at 22h00. This should be accommodated for. The KNP gate from Mjejane into the park directly is closed this limits game viewing.

    10MichellePosted on: 3-20-2024

We stayed at one of the Chalets overlooking the river and were truly blessed to see so many animals from our balcony. The Chalet was stunning. It was truly a treat and we would highly recommend staying at Mjejane

The cottage is huge and comfortable! The photos on the site correspond to reality. The view from the balcony to the river is fantastic.
