Beautiful little room well equipped.

Old building well maintained

Good location for Lake Nelson Reserve. Food available in Tavern on site. Views of mountains.

It was a spacey room, well stocked with tea, coffee, soaps etc.Big, comfortable bed. Nice views from the front door. We were greeted by a Weka bird, who seemed comfortable with the guests. Nice walk to the rover, through the campsite. Tavern was nice and friendly, and the beer was good.

Kitchen sponge provided was old and dirty. It just needed the sponge replacing.

The cost.

Fantastic, quiet location in the middle of nowhere. Everything was great, the service the food and the hosts were very friendly. Great little spot to pull up and break the drive. You could hear the river below running, which was very peaceful.

Everything was fine. Great check in. Accommodation was good. What they don't tell you . There is a walk down to the river, which is lovely to sit by. The food is cooked fresh so very tasty.

Friendly inviting staff, great facilities, and pub with good wholesome meals. Very clean and spacious, full of good amenities.

A very pretty place with a short walk to a stream and camping area at the rear of the property. We had a very good meal in the tavern and a refreshing apple cider. The staff were friendly and accommodating and we were able to park very close to our room.It's very comfortable and clean.

Nothing to dislike. It's just a little dated.

Did not have breakfast,But had the dinner which was exceptional.Both of the owners we met and were friendly and charming.In short a gem in the Wilderness.

Limited space. Shower roses are very low, so even a short person can't stand under the shower. Mould in the shower. Limited kitchenette space although we understood that the motel rooms were built many years ago so the owners tried to accommodate current expectations. The location is good when you want to stay one night to rest, but not for more than one night

A good location to stop over on a long drive to Christchurch. Very friendly and helpful staff.

There were a lot of bees around which were particularly attracted to our blue car making it difficult to get in and out of it. Also lots of fruit flies coming into the room - lots of evidence of them squashed on the walls. The kitchenette was tiny with no sink - impossible to make a decent meal. No hairdryer.

Pillows and mattress too soft and uncomfortable. Tv should be wall mounted not on top of a high cupboard. Difficult to watch. Otherwise for a brief overnight it was ok.

The drinks....the first beer ordered was flat and off, and the second which was a bottle beer had an expiry from 2022.

Sadness & a tinge of inconsolable apathy from the proprietor. Like he bought a lemon. Ridiculous tavern prices (LOL)No plates & things. Minor stuff.

Got things in need in the room. It has very hot shower love it.A weka showed up around the property

Great tavern and the motel style accomodation was beyond expectations looking out to the view . The food was home cooked Chinese ( but local recipes were available ) , fresh and flavoursome . Top place to stay , thanks John
