Twizel is the best town between Mount Cook and Queenstown if you can't find accommodation in Mount Cook village. It's calm and rate of the hotels are more affordable.
Breakfast is not quite tasty.
Room size and dinner at the restaurant buffet was outstanding
Mattress was too soft for my taste
Great location, buffet was good
Alittle overpriced
The view on the mountains was nice, stuff was very welcoming, there was a fireplace in the hall of the hotel
The sink and shower in the bathtub in the bathroom were located very low ( I needed to hunch over to wash my hair), the heater was making liquid sound all the time it was turned on. Everything looks quite outdated (like from 80s), but clean (however the toilet was a bit dirty inside)
Great staffs & service . Good price . Good breakfast
The heating system make us cannot sleep well. Keep making sounds. We was in room 124.
convenient location
Evening meals were limited, adequate but not great. Breakfast OK.
Room, bed, location were all excellent. The evening buffet meal was suberb
The staff were very helpful, welcoming and friendly.
The hotel is dated inside and was a little overpriced.
Excellent for our brief stop in Twizzel.
Breakfast was a bit expensive so we didn't take it.
Big rooms and and big beds. Very comfortable.
Water pressure in the shower not good. It was very less.
Disappointed considering cost.
No lift. No air con. Broken chair in room. Dated bathroom.
I liked the size of the hotel and the rooms
It’s a very dated hotel and needs renovation especially the hot water system or the lack of hot water.
This was a return stay. Food excellent, staff friendly & helpful very comfortable clean rooms. Would definitely stay again.
No aircon
Very good
Air siren went off at 4.00am. Would have been nice to warn us it might happen. We had no idea what was going on, were waiting for something bad to happen. Apparently it happens all the time to get the firefighters to the firehouse
The room was spacious, nice to have a balcony and the bed was comfortable
The bathroom is in need of updating, the shower was over the bath and the shower nozzle did not have a lot of pressure. Also the cabinetry in the room was very old fashioned. For the price we paid, I expected better quality, even for 3 star
Staff is professional. The restaurant opposite of the hotel (Poppies Cafe) has good food. The balcony of our room was alright.
It's quite expensive for what you get. Yes, the room is big, but the rooms (including bathrooms) should have been renovated a long time ago. It smells funky. There's a 20 minute time cap on hot water in the shower. In this time of year, there are a lot of mosquitoes, but there are no fly nets for the windows (and no AC in the room, so you have to open them with summer temperatures)
Great room, it had a bathtub and a shower combination. Very nice bed I like being upstairs good view out the back of a park area. Good buffet dinner, and a nice buffet breakfast.
It would be nice if they had a bike charging station.
