Pros +
- Loved the location and the cleaningness. Also the staff was great.
- The Joli Park Hotel is fairly conveniently locate a few hundred meters from the train station, which also serves as the bus station. The Corso Roma is the street on the north side of the hotel, and the main street leading through the city to the port, and the old city and fortress on the island. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping along the Corso Roma. The room was lovely, with a balcony, and a fantastic view of the harbor, and the Gulf of Taranto north of the city. The breakfast was more than adequate. Although this is an older facility, it has been renovated more than once. The interior is nicely decorated with original art, and various fishing related crafts and tschotschkis. The hotel has a beautiful pool, but I didn't take advantage of it.
- Located in city center with nice view from the 3rd floor.
Cons -
- Breakfast wasn't the best.
- I'm not a large person, but found the shower stall a bit tiny ti be able to comfortably scrub my legs and feet. Also, the shower stall floor is a bit slippery, and owing to the height of the shower stall, it's somewhat difficult to step out safely. A grab bar along either wall might help.
- It looks much better in the pictures. Receptionists do not speak English and not too helpful. Renovation is strongly recommended. The "restaurant" is a joke with poor service and food. Big noise from the streets.

The pool and location
Air conditioning controlled by staff and turned off on second night because they thought it wasn’t required. We found it difficult to sleep.
The location is excellent, the b fast was very good and we enjoyed the pool too
The hotel has great potential but very tired especially the bathroom. The gentlemen on the front desk were so friendly and helpful whilst Roberta should not even be at the desk as for her people are annoying and she frowns if asked for information.
Great location, friendly staff, swimming pool
The hotel is nice, well maintained. It is a typical 3*** hotel, up to the expectations. Beds are comfortable, shower is ok, and taste of the room is generally ok
2 things: 1- It is a bit further from downtown that I thought (a good 30 minutes walk). 2- It is a pain to park in Gallipoli, the on-site parking after slots for personnel and police might have some 10-12 slots available only, when there might be 150 rooms in the hotel, so the chances you will get one are almost null. That's not the problem, but I received very bad indications from hotel staff on best way to park in the street: so here is my recommendation I wish I had been given: Go to Via Foggia (just round the corner) and stay there until you see a car leaving and park (lots of spaces and good chances someone will be leaving within a couple of minutes) --> Will be much better / faster than going round and round for long minutes, and it is very close (100m) to the hotel. Parking will cost you ~ 10/12€ a night in the street.
The hotel was clean, the pool area was nice. Pool was cold but we liked that. The majority of staff were nice. Breakfast was lovely, very fresh.
The bar wasn't a bar- hard to get a drink. Parking at times was hard to get a space. The location is far from the old town.
The swimming pool; the balcony; the ac on cold once I got into the room (very hot and humid day);some of the staff was absolutely 100% helpful available and lovely; the proximity to the sea and the location in general (on the main street and close to the shops in particular Martinucci); the pasticciotto in morning breakfast and the coffee were excellent;
The property was ok. I found the woman at the reception check in rude, but the rest of the staff and waiters compensated by being outstanding from all the aspects. I avoided speaking to her and I related only with the rest of the staff, that was on the contrary immensely kind. I didn’t like the timing for the check in at 4.00 (never seen such a late time) and check out at 10.00 in the morning. Technically I paid for much less than 24 hr room, this was disappointing… they fixed this by letting me stay in the swimming pool for the time necessary, so I can’t complain about that! I was really happy with the solution.
The location
The room felt claustrofobic and the shower was extremely small and old
Covenant to get to, reasonably well located, pool and pool area clean and well attended.
Hotel is dated, rooms small, shower tiny (caravan size) hotwater issues.
Nice room, large balcony, centrally located, free parking, friendly staff, decent breakfast (for Italian standards), good wifi.
Airconditioning is centralised, and it was turned off, so it was very hot in our room. Shower wasn't very clean.
5 minutes walk from the train station and 10 minutes walk to the centre of old town. A great swimming pool to cool down after a day out.
The tv does not have any english channels
10-15 main walk to old town but had the advantage of a pool (cold). it is one pool that has a canopy that can be pulled over to create a covered area.
Pool very cold even when 30 C outside. No fruit platter at breakfast. There was hotel parking but it cannot be reserved so it is pot luck each time you return if you get a space, no pre-booking allowed so you have to find a space on the street which proved to be okay.
Location was excellent; pool was very well kept and maintained. Freshly baked croissants every morning. Free parking
Small elevators, minimum capacity, took a very long time to get. Room was not very clean and balcony was not cleaned upon arrival (found cups and ice cream wrappers and crumbs left on table). Hand marks all over room and handles to balcony. Shower extremely small. Staff was not approachable at front desk. Didn’t respond to emails. Breakfast was really nice but needs more variety.
One of the worst places I have ever been to. Absolutely unkind staff, dirty swimming pool, bad smelling sheets and what is even worst the staff enter without permission to our room outside cleaning hours. They also charged the coffee in the room without previos notice. Totally unrecommended
Clean, good breakfast, good location, pool
Location is good. It’s clean and mainly comfortable. We got a bit terrace as well, which was really nice to have. No seats or sunbeds on it though
The lifts are small and always busy. Lack of forniture on the outside space, which is a shame, given it is a huge space. This prevents the guest from fully enjoying itStaff is mostly friendly (specially the kitchen guys) and the woman that is around at breakfast. However the ones on reception are not friendly at all. We honestly tried to avoid interacting with them as much as possible
A bit of a relic from a bygone era. Old but decently maintained.
Room walls are very, very thin so every gough, phone call etc can be heard from adjacent neighbours.
Pool - The main reason we booked Joli Park was for the large pool with plenty of sun loungers. As it turned out there were hardly more than four or five guests at the pool on any given day with 30 loungers. Swimming caps required.Breakfast - consisted of three cereals, natural yogurt, various pastries, boiled or scrambled eggs, breads. There was only some tinned fruit on one morning, no fresh fruit.Location - located at the top of the Main Street which has restaurants, bars and shopping all the way down to the Old Town. It is a bit of a walk to the Old Town but it’s a straightforward stroll.Staff - friendly and helpful.
Bathroom - dated and small.Shower - ancient and tiny, we had to get the very old broken shower head replaced. Constantly banging elbows off the sides of the tiny cubicle.
