Beds are comfortable, breakfast have lots of variety. Every corner at lobby floor and common areas are well decorated, recommended.

Disappointing Experience - Economy Room Feels More Like a Hostel

I recently stayed at Utsikten Hotel Kvinesdal for one night and was very disappointed with my experience. I understand that I booked the “economy” room, which was the cheapest option, but given that this is a 4-star hotel, I expected a certain level of quality. Unfortunately, the room I was given fell far short of those expectations.The room was located on the first floor, small, and overlooked the parking lot, which was expected. However, the room was also smelly, dirty, and furnished with very basic and cheap furniture that did not reflect the standards of a 4-star hotel. The bathroom was particularly disappointing, with a linoleum floor—a material I’ve never encountered in a hotel bathroom before, and certainly not in one claiming to be 4 stars.The breakfast was another letdown. The coffee was poor, with no option for espresso or cappuccino, which was surprising for a hotel of this supposed caliber.On a positive note, the staff were friendly, but this alone did not make up for the numerous shortcomings.I want to warn potential guests not to make the same mistake I did. The management of this hotel should make it clear that the economy room is not up to 4-star standards and is more akin to what you’d find in the cheapest hostels. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.

The breakfast was exceptional, and the manager had arranged for a long table for our large family group of 19 people.

The lighting was a bit dim.

Location of the Hotel makes the view of the kvinsdal village exceptional and there is a museum free entrance which explains the Architect of the village. As the name Utsiksten (good view).

Everything was more than I expected. Member staff, so professionals.

Lovely hotel with amazing views, great staff, very clean and amazing food.

Some noisy guests and the view of the room was disappointing.

View from the room was amazing….staff all extremely friendly….would definitely recommend this hotel. On arrival was offered an upgrade for a very small charge which we of course accepted. I travel a lot, and this hotel surpassed my expectations by a long shot…. This hotel is a bit off the main route if you are heading N or S, but definitely worth the detour.

The location is perfect woth beautiful view.The breakfast is wonderful.The owner and the staff are so kind that upgrade our room with view free of charge.

A very nice hotel, that’s making it’s name, the view is absolutely fabulous from the restaurant and the terras.I had an economy suite, those havent the view from the room, but are quite nice. At some points in the room you can see it’s quite a few years in use, but the bed and furniture are a lot newer and fine. The breakfast had quite a large selection to chose from also the restaurant serves really nice food.The wifi worked great, the speed was very good.

Friendly & accommodating staff, the food was good. The view from the “fjord view” room is great.

Switches & sockets were dusty (the rest of the room was clean though). Not much to do around the hotel itself (except if you golf I guess), can only get here by car.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was very nice. Hotel’s staff was friendly and very helpful. Their breakfast was also very good. This hotel was a very good place to stay over while exploring Norway!

Reception stuff were frendly, but not trained enouth to introduce with the place and its facilities. Lack of knowladge made out check in long and exhousting. Our suite did not have a view to the fjord as we have expected, so if you want to make sure you get one, call directly to ask for.

2 of the 3 reception staff I interacted with were not so friendly and welcoming. The hotel is huge and, when we were there it was empty. However they gave us rooms facing the parking because “the rooms you booked are 200 kr cheaper than the rooms with a view”. I did not care about the view but, if I were management, I would encourage the staff to upgrade the clients to “rooms with view” when the hotel is so empty especially because that is the name of the hotel “The View”.

Hotel located in a rural area with a nice view from the terrace. Dinner and breakfast were really great and the hotel staff was very friendly. Charging possibilities for our electric car was also a plus.

The room and hallway were a bit outdated and could use a renovation to match it with the rest of the hotel and overall experience.

I really liked this large hotel, situation on a hill with an amazing view, plenty of safe parking. The room was large, clean and comfy. Evening meal was very good, with great beer and good service. The breakfast was the best I have ever had. Great!
