Laguna Beach Hotel & Spa

This is a very peaceful hotel hidden in the gem of a town with local charm. I enjoyed being able to tour the town and city to learn more about its history. All of the staff were amazing and should definitely get

It's hard to keep a hotel on the beach in perfect condition. This one is starting to show its age and could do for a renovation. I also would prefer to have a show just of local dances rather than one that tries to do dances from all over the world.

We were 3 and had to take 2 rooms,

Breakfast spread was not very vegetarian friendly, could be better

The hotel offered one or two nice touches, e.g. free ferry trip to Isle aux Cerfs , and afternoon tea. Swimming pool was very good size, clean and with good sun bathing facilities in the surrounding area.

We stayed for seven days. An evening buffet meal every night was too much, especially if we had been out during the day and had lunch elsewhere. It was good to see, therefore that the hotel offered an 'a la carte' alternative menu. Unfortunately, this menu existed on paper only. Every time we wanted to choose from this, there were limitations, and as time went on the restrictions on availability grew. Usually, if 10% of the items were available, this was as good as it got. When we complained about this, we were told, apologetically, that this was due to staff shortages. I'm sure that this was a factor, but it seemed illogical that even very simple choices, such as a toasted sandwich (croque monsieur) would not be available. The restaurant staff were quite brusque about this, so a customer might feel to be a nuisance for asking for the menu. Altogether a very bad fault on catering.

The hotel beach is good for swimming. The Rooms are not well maintained. Dirty walls , floors, towels torn and very poor housekeeping in total of the rooms. Rooms have no cupboards only open space hangers which make the room look untidy.Breakfast was okay. Staff are not helpful and are not willing to assist if u complain. Breakfast to go which was requested on day of checkout & early flight was covered in ants.Breakfast to go consisted of 2 slices of baguet, butter, apple ,naartjie and juice. Pathetic No restaurants can be found around hotel and no activities of walking distance

The staff, the food was worse, the WiFi is poor..

It’s a lovely hotel and offers good value for money. Staff are helpful and friendly The View and facilities are great

The location is isolated. You need to have a car if you wish to stay here. The closest shops are 6km away.

So disappointing

There is a very small man made beach. You can’t walk anywhere. There are no other hotels for miles. There is a tiny alcove where you can swim, but you can’t go in deep as it’s marked off for boats. No one showed me round the hotel on arrival. No seafood of any kind is served at the buffet. They advertise a gym but for the 3 days I was there the treadmill and weights machine were out of order with a sign saying you can’t use them. No one knew when they would be repaired. Very disappointing for a Mauritius experience. The manager said they would look at a refund for the disappointment but til now no response. I paid for 11 days and left after 4.

very nice personnel, clean, nice food and program, the breakfast and dinner was NOT the same every day which was very good.

lovely clean and well maintained hotel. The beach is on your DOORSTEP.the pool was lovely. the evenings were pleasant.

We had to wait long to get our room even though we email the hotel.There was no welcome....seeing that we had arrived from far. It was very hot and we were tired.

Lovely location, very secluded. Amazing view of mountains landscape and sea views with the added bonus of having a waterfall nearby.

I do think some of the room amenities require some renovation, other than that it was really awesome

Food was great, lots of choice, less in the AI drinks but we managed. Pool area lovely staff very nice

Needs some renovation for the blinds and taps/bath tub

Very good ambiance around the property. Infinity pool. Beachside within property for short walks enjoyed by the 2 seniors who were part of our group. Shallow ocean pool where we could even do some snorkeling. Xmas dinner and music on both nights was good. Good view from the room. Nice pool side bar. Friendly staff.

Shower area was small and with no place to hang/dry cloths inside it. Process of using coupons to get swimming towels from the reception was bizarre as we had to walk until there to get as well as drop off the towels. Snooker sticks were damaged.
