Hotel El Nogal

This is a standard 3-star hotel offering en-suite rooms at reasonable rates. At reception they were helpful and allowed early check-in and baggage storage on day of departure which, for serial travellers like me, are both major bonuses. The room itself is reminiscent of the small boutique business hotels I used to stay in when working in Brussels many years ago. Furnished very much in that style, the room provides everything you'd expect including a comfortable bed, A/C, minibar/fridge, a good clean and well appointed bathroom and plenty of clothes storage space. The hotel itself is in an excellent location in terms of access to the centre and main sites of Valladolid and local transport hubs.

As is often the case with very centrally located hotels and holiday lets, there is a trade off between the great location and the noise levels in the evening. Hotel El Nogal is situated on a street with a number of cafes and bars and the street itself is a link between busy parts of the city so there is inevitably some street noise at night. That said, it was nothing excessive and seemed to die off at a reasonable hour. I had no trouble sleeping anyway.

Hotel was fine, but the weather was awful

Spacious room with a seating area, very large bed and pleasant outlook over small plaza. Great location for the central area. Friendly, helpful staff. Good value for the price.

Shower area was in need of some attention although it worked well.

Good location, large rooms, clean premises, includes mini-fridge, air conditioner and elevator; close (40m) from supermarket and several restaurants. Breakfast is an upgraded continental-style, additional fee (EUR 4.00) as of today consisting of 3 types of bread, cereal, yogurt, some fruits, but no cold cuts or cheeses. It’s simple but it’s correct, I would stay again.

The location was very close to the main square. A few mins walk from the main shopping area and the park where you can see peacocks.

Old furniture, it was a little musty

The hotel is in the city centre, very close to the main square Plaza Mayor and the market, restaurants and cafeterias.

The bed is not very comfortable and the floor was a bit dirty, there was also noise during the night from the street and no air conditioning so I was suffering a bit during the night due to heatwave that weekend.

The hotel is perfect for visiting Valladolid. Unfortunately my room was on the from on the road. Every bin truck in Spain came through the night. Then road sweepers. I would have got better sleep on a runway! The hotel is very good value for money and the location is brilliant but only stay off they can guarantee you a back room. Reception staff were lovely and super helpful. The room was large and perfect but the shower grouting needs to be re done- was pretty bad. Otherwise the room and en-suite were excellent, spacious, comfortable and nice.
