Restaurante Hotel Abadesa

This was our last stop before the dash to Bilbao to catch the ferry to the UK. My Son and I had a pleasant ride to the ferry and found this Hotel to be the ideal distance.

Convenient location.

Very noisy, and the staff was not friendly.

Next to the big road. The room was clean and the girl on the reception was nice and helpful

The guy behind the bar was rude. Just ignored me didn’t want to talk to me .

The location was ideal for an overnight on the way to somewhere, easy distance from motorway and dogs accepted. Cafeteria was good.

Modern and clean rooms with a convenient location close to the motor way. A bar/restaurant and good breakfast options. Grateful to the lady on check in waiting for us (although she was not happy about it) as we did not realise the hotel check in closed at 10pm.

Just check with the hotel if you know you are going to be late checking in. We had an 11 hour drive and didn’t realise it closed at a specific time.

The convenience was the best for us

Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed at lunchtime, so we were unable to get an evening meal other than in the cafe. The food was very average. !

Good small hotel at the route. Need to contact in advance for time of arrival to get key. Has cafeteria and restaurante. All clean, new, comfort

Breakfast not included but good choice available in restaurant. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Room clean, comfortable and modern

Noisy drunk people pounding security doors at night

The room was comfortable. Spacious shower.

Room wasn't ready when we got there, we had to wait almost 1h. Staff looked overwhelmed and not the friendliest. Found hairs in various places in the room. No AC as announced, but a ceiling fan. Overall expensive for what is offered.

The hotel was a nightmare to find. We were travelling up to Santander to catch a ferry so the location of the hotel was good but it is on the opposite side of the motorway and there were no signs to direct us so we got lost. We had to call the hotel for directions but once we found it we were happy with it except for the fact there is no lift and I’m disabled so walking up the stairs was a chore. The hotel had no air con and it was over 30 degrees but luckily it has a good ceiling fan which did the job. Staff were very nice and helpful and the accommodation was absolutely spotlessly clean so I was very happy about this.

Bad

If you thought you were booking a hotel to get some sleep, then you can forget about this place!1) really poor flooring and walls quality, you could hear every noise you were making as well as people in other rooms! It sounded like they were in the same room as you. You could hear them snoring, walking, talking, listening to TV, having a shower and other stuff... Honestly, I have never been in such a bad place like this. Couldn't get any proper sleep or rest;2) the staff only speaks Spanish, which doesn't help;3) no air conditioning in the room;3) most of the staff was not friendly nor tried to help. They were attending the bar as we arrived so we had to wait for them to see us to check us in... They don't have a receptionist nor pay attention to people arriving. There was an alarm going off in the middle of the night, which we thought was the fire alarm but there was nobody from the hotel to check it physically or to see if we needed anything. Apparently someone contacted the general number and remotely it was shut down. Next morning we mentioned this, complained about it and they explained they leave the hotel between the hours of 11pm and only return at 7am (or 8am on Sundays). They didn't care we were complaining nor apologised. Really bad customer service. We will not stay here again, I just wish we could get my money back!

It was cleaned

Noisy rooms, windows don’t avoid sound coming from the highway. Super hot rooms no air conditioning. Didn’t get sleep.

Shower wasn't very good. Head needed replacing. Restaurant in the morning didn't open when it said they would and ignored by staff so had to miss it

Modern, clean, friendly staff. Dog friendly, easy to find

No Air con in the room which was the only bad thing here but a major one. It was unbearable heat in the room

Amazing restaurant, average hotel…

Been here a few times now the mattresses are so so comfortable and the coffee bar is great value ??
