Hotel Vía Gótica

Great location right across from the Santa Maria Arch and the Cathedral, of which we had a perfect view from our room. There’s a cafe downstairs with good coffee in the morning, the hotel staff was very helpful, and the public pay parking very close to the hotel.

Room was dirty and smelled. It looked like the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned. There were pieces of hair here and there. The floor was sticky. The walls were unclean. It felt so dirty I wasn’t comfortable taking a shower and hesitant to set my belongings down anywhere. The walls were paper thin. My neighbors might as well have been in my room. Very noisy in general - you can hear every car drive by and conversations from the street down below. Do not recommend.

The location is perfect. It is right across the Arco de Santa Maria. It near to all the places you might want to visit - the cathedral, El Cid’s statue, Museum of Human Evolution, Burgos Museum. There are many restaurants nearby, the Estación de Autobuses is 200 meters away and so is the big Alcampo Supermercado.

The cleaning ladies come in mid afternoon and twice we returned early, our room had not yet been cleaned.

This hotel sits at an excellent mirador location, at the in front of Arco de Santa Maria, and our room was front site to view this historical Arco de Santa Maria, of course, a little higher room rate was payed. Also, as requested, two beds room was arranged, so we appreaciated staffs' efforts.

Can be a little noisy but considering the location not a big issue.

Great view of the cathedral, convenient to the central bus station

Strange room key system requiring entering a 7 digit number to open the door -- and not working well. Awkward bathroom. Central control of room temperature -- was set to cool when outside temps were already quite cold.

Very convenient to food and the sites to tour. The staff are pleasant to deal with.

The shower stall has mold on the edges. We reported to staff that when you tried to use the main shower head, the water was shooting out of the top part and out of the shower stall so the floors and walls got wet. The smaller shower head holder could not be adjusted either. We had to mop the floors with towels so it would not be slippery.

This hotel is located just off the Camino but very close! It has a beautiful view of the gate and top of the cathedral. Centrally located to the main square and hop right back on the Camino. Staff was very nice.

It is an older hotel with things not working properly but nothing major.

Location was perfect! 5 minute walk from Bus Station. Directly across from the Arco de Santa Maria and Burgos Cathedral. Breakfast/coffee were delicious. Great staff/service.

Great location w/ beautiful view of cathedral across the street. Staff very accommodating when we asked to have room cleaned & bed re- made on arrival.

Mattress had no pad or cover for cleanliness? Mattresses in a hotel should always be covered with clean mattress pad or cover for every new customer?! There was hair on top sheet & stain in middle of mattress… this was unacceptable! Whole room was dusty & floors did not appear clean , with dust around edges & corners even in bathroom…

Great location. Right across from the cathedral and close to supermarket. Perfect for Camino pilgrims.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The view from the room was incredible. The location is fantastic.

Really great location!! I mean - for the money the location was incredible and the room was fabulous! A corner room with two small balconies!! There was a cafe on site for brekkie - lovely overall and highly recommend.

The door key!! Why!! Why why why!! It’s nonsense - use a key card like everyone else what a nightmare.

Was not good. Not clean, felt unsafe. Used an electronic key system that they could unlock my door from the front desk. I didn’t end up staying and got a different hotel.

Location, equipment, staff

Very friendly staff, great location and clean.

Location was excellent - right across from the Burgos Cathedral, and a 3 minute walk from the bus station. The area around the cathedral is where all the activity and food locations are, do it was perfect for us.

It’s an older property (which in itself is not an issue). Some maintenance elements impacted slightly - but not much: There was basically only one plug point where we could charge our devices in the bedroom, and it wasn’t next to our bed. It’s not something that would stop me from renting here again.

Excellent hotel just over the bridge leading into old city. Staff were helpful and room spotless quiet and comfortable.
