- It was in a great location. Outstanding customer service. Staff member(s) was great and very helpful with everything but above all it was very accessible to my wife who is in a wheelchair. The facilities featured a lift and wheelchair accessible bathrooms

- I came to Bilbao on short notice and found Optimi in my room search. It has a unique space-age look that makes it easy to remember. Optimi is located a short walk from the main bus station (the airport bus terminates here), and a 20-min. walk from the Casco Viejo, Guggenheim, etc. A metro station is also nearby. Good layout and organization with kitchen, common areas, and separate shower areas. I liked having the separate locker and card entry. You also get new sheets and towels every third day which is nice. Frank at the front desk was awesome, and provided quick help when I had some minor problems with my capsule.
Cons -
- "Mattress" = absolutely terrible. It was a very thin memory foam topper. This is terrible because my wife is prone to pressure injuries from resting on hard surfaces. Rock hard and uncomfortable sleep. Had to put pillows under her to avoid pressure injury
- Maybe more bathrooms would be great
- For taller people, the sleeping capsules might not be as comfortable (I'm 181 cm./5'11" and it was fine). Also, maybe give guests the option if they want to have their sheets and towels changed every third day or not, for purposes of saving resources. The light sensors in the capsule room are a bit too sensitive, and come on even with the smallest movements.

The first time I slept at a hostel and didn’t hear another person snoring! Was it luck? Or that the futuristic beds block noise that well?
Kitchen was missing a few things. Luckily the food in the area is amazing and probably save money by eating pinxos
The Bed and privacy
Washroom wc not that much clean
The staff here is among the friendliest and kindest I've encountered in all my travels. To me that's important, and I appreciate it. The capsules allow a person to really get a good night's sleep. The area is dark, quiet and cool.
There was a cleaning boy there making rude, uncalled for remarks. Someone should talk to him about that. It's uncool. A small table is needed in the locker area so a person can put a backpack on it to get stuff. Its uncomfortable to have to do everything on the floor.
It's a hostel with a private capsule mode. Clean toilet. Friendly staff.
The shower was mouldy. Something like bleach and water removes it.
The location is close to the bus station, which is the final stop of the bus from the Bilbao airport to the city. The receptionist was kind and clarified the confusing instructions to find my capsule a few times.
-I wouldn't recommend staying more than one night here since it's not very comfortable and a hostel would offer nearly the same, except for the privacy of the capsule. I arrived at night and left early. I specified after booking that I would arrive around 9 pm, still I receive too many messages reminding me to arrive before midnight. I understand they want to prevent people from not being able to check-in, but the amount of messages was excessive.-Check-in instructions are complicated. I had capsule 50, and unfortunately the signs on the door go up to 48, so I couldn't find it at first. I had to ask again the kind receptionist and he said that the signs are old and haven't been updated. -Ventilation in the capsule is not good (woke up with a scratchy throat) and the temperature cannot be controlled, so it gets a bit cold.-There was a humming noise of an engine (probably a large air conditioning) all through the night.
The location, the staff, the cleanliness, the pod and the ability to communicate in English. Far exceeded my expectations. Thank you
The pod closing sliding doors where by far the noisiest and hardest thing to use, same with shower door closing.
Fun concept, nice design. Really loved the fact that in capsule zone there are no lockers so it's very quiet there. Lockers are separate, showers too. Staff were fun and very friendly. Fancy panel in the capsule. Lots of privacy. Bathrooms are gender separated. Women one had two toilets, three sinks and three showers. I never encountered a line there.
No free or paid coffee option inside hostel (but lots of cafes around). The capsule i had was a bit faulty. Electrical outlet was very loose, so i could not charge my phone with it. I had to use a usb cable (slower charge, but hey at least there was this option and i had the cable). The button to turn off all the lights on the panel did not work. So while no lights were on in the capsule, the panel itself has all these indicators/buttons backlit, and it was a bit too bright for me to sleep comfortably. Air circulation is available so that it's not too hot in the capsule, but i didn't realize i needed to click this option on the panel. It was mildly disappointing that all this fancy design and panel in your capsule two of the most important things (electrical plug and lights off button) were faulty. Another thing: some lockers are located very much on the way out of the capsule room, so some guests who get that locker are always on the way of others. I had a good locker though. Capsule doors are kind of noisy, don't forget your earplugs. But hey these were very minor inconveniences, i still enjoyed my stay.
Beds were comfortable and pods nice.
Bathrooms were disgusting, beds were dirty, and the facilities had no water.
Definitely the location. It’s excellent. Very close to both the metro and bus station, with great restaurant right on the street. It’s also super close to all the main places you’d want to visit. The capsule setup us a big plus, offering a level of privacy that most hostels can’t provide. The staff in the reception was also really friendly and helpful
It was dirty. The capsule itself was okay in term of cleanliness, but the bathrooms were honestly disgusting. I’ve never stayed in a hostel where the showers and toilets were this filthy. I understand it’s a hostel, but for the price you’re paying, the bathrooms should at least meet basic hygiene standards. The shower drains were terrible, and I won’t go into details about the toilets out of respect, but I was shocked by how dirty they were. There was no daily cleaning during my stay, which is unacceptable, and they need to just do it. I honestly wouldn’t recommend staying more than one night.
The capsules are clean and with big locker spaces outside of the rooms. The staffs are extremely friendly and allowed us to keep our bags there for a bit longer after check out. The location is also easy to reach with many shops around.
The ventilation in the capsules can be a bit loud.
Cleanliness
The Space for a person. Its almost just the bed and locker since its unique arrangement
The inside of the capsule had visible dust and what it looked like — multiple spots with mold. I raised the issue politely, and while it was cleaned once in a short time, the problem still remained unresolved as the issue was partially resolved only. When I brought it up a second time in a range of just a few hours since the cleaning was done in my absence, I got a late-evening response via message that was defensive and unprofessional (passive aggressive) going so far as to question my intentions for raising the concern.❗️Cleanliness in an enclosed sleeping space should be a basic standard ❗️I’ve stayed in many hostels and have not encountered this kind of attitude before towards a customer. Additionally, the toilets were not well-maintained and often didn’t feel properly cleaned. Overall, I stayed for 1 day in this accommodation and it was a disappointing experience and I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
Not clean.
Nice clean and calming space, everything was neat and organised. Staff were amazing and very helpful, recommending places worth visiting in the area and making sure we made the most of our stay in Bilbao
Children staying in pod hostel coming into room at 11pm and being very noisy, in my opinion not an appropriate space or environment for guests of that age
Staff.
They are Pods - too much noise. Basically 28 people in one room
Great hostel with pods for privacy. Comfortable mattress. Includes towel. Good kitchen with inexpensive coffee dispenser. Close to bus station, bars and restaurants. Laundromat two minutes away. Great price point. All in all, a great hostel.
The sliding doors on the pods were noisy at night.
Great private space tunnel for sleep and recharge for our techno overlords but a public space that is as welcoming as a dentist office
The copy machine computer chip vibe
The staff was nice and helpful
It was not clean, materials were cheap, a lot of things didn't work well, we're worn out or broken, overall it looked very different from the pictures shown on the website.
