Pros +
- Nice view and good rooms from the property.
- The breakfast was very good and the location was excellent. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are very well equipped. The staff are very friendly and professional.
- friendly staff
Cons -
- A lot of guest got food poisoning and no one apologized or offered compensation.
- This was our second time at this property and it was a different experience than the first. It was not bad, but the buffet line was only open during breakfast. For lunch and dinner there was a set menu and you had to wait for your food to be brought to the table. Sometimes that meant waiting longer than we expected to receive our food at lunch and in the evening and having fewer choices. I don't know why you have to pay to have water with your meal. Only coffee and tea are complimentary.
- a school group were staying at the same time as us and they were very noisy.

a school group were staying at the same time as us and they were very noisy.
the location was perfect, we had a pack of lions outside the lodge on both days. The service was good, the pool nice. Overall a great stay
Minor complaint on the very low water pressure in the shower.
Polite and supportive hotel personnel with an attention to every detail. Very good local cuisine food ? and rich variety of food. We enjoyed?Dinner with guitar songs was amazing?.Comfortable bed and mantras. Cute rooms . My family was really happy with everything in Serena Safari Lodge❤️Safari trips were exciting and we were happy to see all the famous Kenyan animals around???????. We were lucky to observe Kilimangiaro mount at our first day
Small black inserts all over the room. The netting on the air vents above the bed has much too large a mesh. My hair was literally crawling with black insects every morning. Unable to sleep at night due to the insects. The sad part is that the hotel is perfectly aware of this (TripAdvisor is full of commentary on this issue), but has not bothered to get new netting installed on the door, the bathroom window or the air vents.
Location in the park is good and the rooms, whilst basic, were clean and comfortable.
Food is not good (unless you prefer quantity over quality). It seems safari lodge food has not changed or improved in 25 years. Breakfast was OK however.Service on the verandah in the evenings was non-existent. If you wanted a drink you needed to go to the bar and ask for it.Playing “Jambo Bwana” at dinner every night? Come on, surely you can do something more authentic. It felt very 1990s tacky and we did our best to have dinner early so we could avoid it. We weren’t the only ones.
The breakfast was awesome and had a variety to choose from. It was also flexible for one to request for what was not in the main breakfast as long as it could have been availed. Location is better considering its in the wild, however the road to the first gate from Emali is so bad. The Kimana gate one is better
The road through the first gate from Emali. Maybe you can lobby the government or county government to repair it
Excellent location in the park. The food was very good and selection was excellent.
It seemed that most people there were on a group tour. The hotel offers a number of experiences but they don’t have a dedicated travel desk and the staff at reception weren’t that helping at booking tours.
Very friendly team. Excellent meals. Top atmosphere.
I was deciding between 3 lodging options, all about the same price. I ultimately chose Serena and I knew I made the right choice on the drive in! We passed my other two options almost 30 minutes before getting to Serena. This proved its importance for two reasons. Reason 1- it took us almost 15 minutes to get past the gate at the park entrance (that’s prime safari time in the am!) Reason 2- Serena felt like it was in the middle of absolute untouched wilderness. You must stay in the park! Our decision allowed us to watch two Cheetahs roam the landscape for almost an hour at 6:30 am- we would have missed have the show if we weren’t already in the park. Aside from being in park- the actual hotel blew me away. It is a safari paradise. It is so beautiful and exotic and clean! I could not get enough of it. The rooms were so nice I didn’t want to leave them and even the basic rooms overlook the savannah with Kilimanjaro behind! I felt like I was in heaven. Then you have the pool, lobby and outdoor areas that were just as hard to leave!! We borrows binoculars and sat drinking tea for a few hours. I actually teared up when it was time to leave. Finally, the food was absolutely amazing, delicious and abundant. We arrived 15 minutes past lunch the first day and we were starving. They informed us they had left the entire buffet out with staff because they knew we hadn’t eaten yet!
Nothing, it was perfection.
Location good elephant, hippos and birds fantastic
Food poor recycling same old menu day after day choices very limited and quality very poor
Good

The location of the hotel is good, and it has delicious food. Also have a lot of entertainment for family.
The location of the resort was excellent and the grounds were well maintained. The entrance to Amboseli National Park is far away and resort keeps you in middle of the park for easy access to the game drive areas and views of Mount Kilimanjaro. All of the hotel staff we interacted with were are very friendly and helpful. The food at the buffet was exceptional and there was a diverse selection of food. There were several sitting areas around the resort where you could observe birds and other animals in the national park while you relaxed. Tea and coffee were always available in an area adjacent to the bar. The room was very comfortable and had a ceiling fan to help keep you cool.
That water is not included with the meals. Coffee and tea are included in the price, but if you want water (either still or sparkling) you have to pay extra for it. You are provided with two bottles of still water in your room, but with the Kenya summer time heat that is not enough to stay hydrated.

Location was amazing, situated in the middle of Amboseli National Park. The room was beautiful, very comfortable with plenty of space for 3 of us to relax and enjoy the views of the gardens and wildlife. Food was lovely, buffet style with something for everyone. As we were full board, we took a packed lunch with us on the day we left and it was lovely! The pool area was nice and clean too.
can't really think of anything...
Great location, courteous staff and clean facilities.
Dated facilities, Limited vegetarian choices, better food options would be better.
The location was great. The service and rooms were wonderful. The variety of food was also appreciated.
Some of the quality of food was not what I would have hoped for the price we paid. There was always something that I liked, though. Additionally, the hotel details (check-in time, check-out time, etc.) were different than the booking agent's details, which caused some confusion.
Staff went above and beyond and made our stay so special. Special thanks to waitress Yvonne and chef Fiona
shower was small and no other facilities e.g entertainment in hotel
