Pros +
- The historical past of the building, the vicinity to places we wanted to go, the warm hospitality. We've been to Südtirol many times & can say this one is exceptional. Hope it remains like that!P. S. Forget to mention that we're the only guest for the night and it's a memorable experience. We also got a room upgrade, thank you!
- The hotel is perfectly situated to explore South Tyrol, there is lots to see in all directions: lake Anthholzer to the north, lago di Braies and Tre Cime to the east, Puez Odle to the south, and Bolzano and Gilfenklamm to the west. We stayed for a week and still hadn't explored everything. The staff really make your stay feel special. The rooms themselves are great, very clean and comfortable, nice bathrooms with heated floors, fresh cookies every day, and cool mountain views. Breakfast is indeed exceptional, as well as dinner. You should try the tasting menu at least once, but perhaps it would be wise to skip lunch that day. Going to Atelier Moessmer was also spectacular, and the shuttle from and to the hotel were complimentary.
- Excellent breakfast, very comfortable rooms & the most welcoming team taking care of guests.
Cons -
- Unfortunately during our stay, the restaurant was not open for dinner.
- There is no dinner on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but there is a grocery store across the road where you can get classics like mozzarella and prosciutto if you don't feel like going to a different restaurant.
- I guess I booked it for one person instead of two and when i got there they said it would be 200 euro for the additional guest which seemed like a lot given how much i had already paid especially since we were only staying one night. they dropped the extra charge a tiny bit when i checked out but still seemed like a lot for one more person for one night….so be careful when booking to make sure you select the right amount of guests

The history of the building, welcoming staff, local food for breakfast, aperitif bar and snacks. The bedroom was modern and comfortable which made it perfect stay post Dolomite hiking!
Nothing!
Dear Luisi and Carmen,This is an opportunity for us to thank you for the unforgettable stay you made us.Thank you for the inclusion, listening, endless help and the magical hotel you have created. You allowed us to feel like a legend. The food with the homemade and quality raw products. The attention to detail in the items and the service. And thanks to Alisa for the snacks and drinks. Thanks again for everything.
The hotel is excellent, the managers, Carmen and Luigi, are very friendly and help in every possible way. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in this beautiful part of Italy.
Oldest renaissance room of the Alps
No restaurant, nice bistro with local cold dishes
This place is amazing. Absolutely exceeded our expectations. It's so beautiful and the restoration they have done to this old castle is incredible. Super clean and modern and fancy!! The host went above and beyond to make us early breakfast and even pack us sandwiches for lunch!!Also the food up the road toward austria was amazing. Ask the host for recommendations!
Location was great for us because we had a car but it is a little out of the hikes we wanted to do. But still worth it!! This made us explore places we had no idea about.
Staff were incredibly helpful, we had to get up early to leave and they came in to get us coffee and a full breakfast well before normal hours. They made us feel so special!
Nothing!
The property was beautifully designed and clean. I especially enjoyed the dining rooms
Really nothing
It’s a beautiful property, extreme attention to detail.
There is no elevator, but it’s a protected, historical structure so I understand.
It is very enjoyable to stay in such a beautiful historical building. Carmen and her teammates do more than they can to make you feel better. Thank you very much for everything. You should definitely enjoy being a guest here.
An incredible opportunity to step into the past and to spend quiet time in a rare place of craft and history. The hospitality is kind, simple, and genuine. We had a wonderful stay in this magical place.
