About
Dating back to the 16th-century, this traditional hotel enjoys a quiet location in the heart of the spa town of Bad Frankenhausen. It offers spacious accommodations, a restaurant serving regional cuisine, and a beer garden with a water well. Hotel-Restaurant Thüringer Hof features bright rooms with free WiFi and classic-style furnishings. Each is equipped with a 42-inch flat-screen TV with Sky satellite channels and a private bathroom. There are also apartments in the annex, 492 feet from the main building. Each morning, guests can look forward to a hearty breakfast with warm and cold specialties from the region.. Specialties from the Thuringian region are served daily in the inviting restaurant. The beer garden is open from April. Nearby attractions include the Barbarossa Cave, which is 4 mi from the property, the Kyffhäuser monument and the Kyffhäuser Therme (thermal baths), which are 2625 feet away from Hotel-Restaurant Thüringer Hof. Free private parking is provided by the property.

Pros +
- Very good location, good standard. Cosy room and good facilities. Quite pricy though.
- It was clean and good for a family
- The hotel was easy to find and, though the hotel carpark was full, we parked very close by on the town square for free. The receptionist and I had lots of fun communicating in the bits of mutual language we had! The town is sweet with a few sights, nice place to walk around and great bakeries close to the hotel for breakfast and lunch purchases. We had dinner at the hotel and it was very nice, if a little salty (the goulash) - but then I do not overly season so I do find this on the continent. The room was large and beautifully appointed, with a bowl of apples, lots of bottles of water and a kettle etc. Good place to stop for a driving break!
Cons -
- We happened to be on the hottest days and there is no AC and the room was on the sunny side. Thus, I was happy not to stay any longer.
- The only issue we encountered was a persistent unpleasant odor in the room that lingered throughout our stay, even after we tried to ventilate it
- No breakfast inclusive rate and it would have cost us another 50 euro for three of us - and we had an early start - so we did not try breakfast. Bit annoying that the carpark was full as we specifically needed parking but it was resolved easily. So generally nothing was wrong at all!

In the centre of town with the swimming pool in walking distance. Also it is located on the town square with access to shops cafes and bars.
No secure parking for motorcycles
Central location, plenty of parking spaces, good breakfast, nice restaurants offering local food
Excelent location at the main square, but very quiet during the night. Clean rooms, firendly staff.
Tiny rooms just for the bed, cheap bathroom equipment
The staff offered us a free breakfast as an apology for the odorous room.
Stinky room. We travelled in the winter and when arrived, the room was very cold, which should have given us a hint that all windows must have been fully open shortly before our arrival. But we did not pay much attention, went out, and when returned (after the reception had already closed), the unbearable smell from the toilet was all over the place. It was totally disgusting.
Room was cold even with heater on. Breakfast was not organized. Had to hunt silverware from another table, cups. Staff wasnt helping us for coffee. Bathroom in room and downstairs smell like sewer leaking.
Very nice location in the town centre, friendly, welcoming and professional staff. Nice room with lift to 4th floor. Very good private parking and excellent restaurant.
No dislikes. Nice place!
Lovely location, walks into the Kyffhauser region from the door. I loved the huge photos of the town in years gone by which were hung in the rooms and the corridors. The restaurant was excellent and its staff (especially Sebastian) were lovely. The room was spacious and wi-fi was great.
Spacious apartment for the family at a great location with a superb restaurant.
Friendly staff. Clean, confortable room. Beautiful hotel.
No airco in our room, but that could be intentional/ part of the deal for that room. In general, just a great hotel.
Very friendly staff, although we couldn't speak German, and the lady had very limited English, we managed to feel very welcome.
The room was a bit cramped for both our suitcases, but the was room in the sitting room for it. Also, Wifi was only available in the hotel self, i.e. where we had breakfast, but not in the flat itself. The fact that the saltwater baths opened so late was a bit of a dissapointment.
Good breakfast comfortable bed, lot of parking spaces overnight, restaurant.
central location, free parking, historical building
Clean, comfortable hotel with good parking.
All the seating in the beer garden was reserved.
