Hotel Sant'Elia

Domenico who welcomed us was extremely hospitable and helpful. He did everything and beyond to make us feel comfortable. He reserved a parking lot in front of the hotel, kept it for us during the whole stay, assisted with the parking, served the breakfast in the first morning and immediately remembered what we are eating and drinking. On the other morning simply confirmed with us that he remembered correctly the coffee we order. And we were 2 of us drinking 3 different types of coffee in different order and he did remembered. Also he noticed what we were eating and when it was over he gave us more. Domenico recommended to us the most delicious restaurant nearby. We loved it and had dinner there every night as the food was yummy. There facilitates were just enough including elevator which is rare for Sicily.

The noise coming from the street especially on Saturday night, which is not the hotel’s fault but for those who sleep light keep it in mind.

This hotel is ideally located in the heart of Messina, close to restaurants, bars, and city attractions. It's also within walking distance to the cruise port, making it a convenient choice. I highly recommend this hotel.

Our host was so helpful and kind and even spoke some English. Very friendly which I’ve noticed is not the norm.

Toilet did not flush. Not much effort was made to rectify and no other rooms available

Very loud at night with cars and outside night life. Thought we were booking a room with a balcony as specified on Booking.com however it was incorrect. (Only the standard room has a balcony not economy), when addressed to staff they were quite short with us, seemed annoyed we brought it up and didn’t end up doing anything

My room was fantastic - spacious, light and very clean

There was a bit noise from the street below but considering the location of the hotel, this was to be expected

Location excellent. Short walk to the city centre. We left our hire car for the four days of our stay in the hotel's free parking spaces. We used the train to travel to Taormina and Catania. The train station is very close.Good sized room, large bed, large shower, ample breakfast and extremely helpful and courteous manager, all at a bargain price.

The beds were very old and uncomfortable. Pillows so flat . Air conditioning not working properly . Way over priced for what it was sadly

The hotel was in a good location in the old town town, right by the port and the ferries. The room was spacious and comfortable. Good value for money.

I got. a room to the back. I had never booked this place knowing the room. It is unfair not to show the offered room. The man at the reception was just not helpfull to accept that the room I booked was different to the room I got offered. Insist to get a room to the street. Dorry, but this was frustrating.

Domenico, Jana, and Antonellawere the most wonderful, warm hotel personnel one could ever hope for!!From a perfect granita AND cappuccino in the morning to a spotless room with clean sheets and towels, the service was outstanding, but the personalities of these three won me over day after day!!Arrivederci: )Jane

Very close to railway station. The breakfast was perfect and my husband who is a celiac was able to buy pastries at a pasticceria across the road.

Good location, proper, nice breakfast. Good value for Money. I would Go there again.

It is close to train station and quiet.

Key and door lock a little bit too old, took some time to open the door.
