About

Dubiecko Castle is a unique hotel housed in a meticulously restored 16th-century castle, located in the picturesque San River valley and surrounded by a historic park. The property harmoniously blends historical character with modern comfort, offering stylish rooms and suites, as well as spaces designed for relaxation and hosting exceptional events. The castle’s history is inextricably linked to the Kmita, Stadnicki, and Krasicki families. It was here, on February 3, 1735, that Ignacy Krasicki—a poet, writer, and Bishop of Warmia, known as the "Prince of Polish Poets"—was born. Guests have a range of comfortable rooms and suites at their disposal. Breakfast is served in the Castle Restaurant, which specializes in traditional Polish cuisine, with a particular emphasis on exquisite game dishes. The grounds feature a historic park with walking paths, a mini-zoo, a pond, and numerous spots perfect for relaxation. Guests can rent bicycles, go Nordic walking, fish, or explore local attractions. The Museum of Fossils and Minerals is located a short distance from the castle, while the Broduszurki Nature Reserve lies just 2.5 mi away. Dubiecko Castle is also located along the Green Velo cycling route, making it an excellent base for enthusiasts of active leisure and cycling tourism. Dubiecko Castle is the ideal destination for those seeking tranquility, a connection with nature, and the unique atmosphere of a historic residence combined with the high standards of modern hospitality.

    Pros +

    • I liked the ancient trees best. The hotel has a pleasant atmosphere and our room was comfortable although very small. The surrounding park is beautiful. The restaurant served delicious food and plentiful breakfast.
    • nice historical property
    • Always a pleasure to stay at this palace. The environment is very quite and it's a good location for making trips in the wider neighbourhood. Friendly staff, clean rooms, good breakfast.

    Cons -

    • the music in the restaurant is too loud and not adequate for an elegant historic property
    • We arrive late, to get in it takes 30 minutes, because reception in other building and you have to drive there and hard to find, very complicated. They need to do something with it.
    • I know, it’s not expected that former palaces have a lift, but it might be a bit tricky with the luggage if your room is on the second floor as was mine. I stayed at this hotel twice and you never know which part of the property your room is going to be, which entrance to take and where to park the car (I was wrong both times). But if you are not in rush, it’s lovely to walk around and I didn’t mind my additional walks.

It’s a beautiful property with a lush garden, streams, ponds and numerous food paths lit in the night. A perfect location for photos or some quiet contemplation :) the place has a historic importance, which is tricky to grasp if you don’t know the historical context… it’s lovely anyway…The food was great, both breakfast and dinner and the staff did their best.

12.7.2024 spent 2 perfect days there and one devastating night as hotel hosted a party group and had at first a drunken yelling group from 1-1:30am under my window and after 3 their mastermind, which smashed doors and expressed his biological needs in every spectre in my neighbor room...from 7am then construction workers started to cut stones...wifi collapsed perpetually and this wasnt compensated by the excellent restaurant, service staff, architecture and park anymore....sadly disappointing experience.

++park, quiet in the deluxe-rooms,very good breakfast, very friendly staff and fluent in english-rooms in main corpus rather noisy

Perfect (!) breakfast , location in the park , friendly stuff

Reception located in a different building - no problem at all but might be good if some one will write in in English as well ( was written only in Polish only )

Supergreat hotel! Fantastic design, lots of animals to look at and great food in the restaurant. For sure one of the best places I have stayed at in Poland!

Appreciate personnel - despite late arriving, host was meeting me at entrance, being extremely friendly and polite.

    Really, nothing to mention.

The grounds and location were superb.

The upgraded apartment was old. The bathroom was very uncomfortable.

Great location and very beautiful grounds of the castle. We really enjoyed. The staff was friendly and polite and the breakfast was delicious

    10RichardPosted on: 8-13-2023

The breakfast was awesome and with a traditional Polish theme. I think this has been the best of all the places we have booked in our one month road trip through Europe. Delightful surprises around every corner. Polish history is everywhere and the castle dates back many centuries. Attention to detail is over the top.

Can't think of anything I didn't like. Best place we have ever had the pleasure of staying.

Incredible views, big garden with flowers, exceptional breakfast

    8DmytroPosted on: 4-28-2023

Good hotel, however the pillows are kinda rubber like, not comfortable at all. Rooms are good too, breakfast as well. What is most valuable is the castle building with beautiful interior and awesome park - large and with numerous animals and birds around

Wandering in darkness from parking to main building and then from main building to the one with rooms.

Location, very helpful staff, excellent meals

Could have had a fridge in the bedroom,

The hotel is located in a beautiful park. The bathroom in the room was renovated recently. It was super clean with warm floors. The room is outdated with kinda "luxurious" design but I guess they are planning to renovate it too.The breakfast was pretty cool

the history, the ambience, the special rooms.

the property was beautiful and well maintained for the size. made for a relaxing atmosphere when taking a leisurely walk. inside made you feel like you just stepped out of a time machine and into the land of knights and fare maidens. what a dream!

    8DiannePosted on: 4-13-2022

The grounds of the hotel are wonderful. I imagine it’s even more beautiful during the other seasons. The breakfast buffet was outstanding.

The rooms are in a separate building, a couple of hundred yards from the reception desk with parking nearby. It would have been helpful for the front desk person to tell me of that fact so that I wouldn’t have had to push my heavy suitcase over an uneven walkway for 200 yards. The walls are thin and a couple of times some guests were talking loudly in the hallway at 4:00 and 6:00 in the morning. Perhaps a reminder in the room about quiet time from 10:00-7:00 would be helpful.

Beautiful location, lots of character. Comfortable rooms, and a tasty breakfast included. The dinner we ate in the dining room was excellent.

Internet was quite slow during the day and early evenings.
