Rooms at Palace Bosone mix original features with modern amenities such as free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV and air conditioning. Some have frescoed ceilings. The palace dates back to the 14th century. It now includes a lounge bar with free Wi-Fi access and a frescoed dining room where you can enjoy a large Italian buffet breakfast. Pros +

    • We travel several weeks a year in Italy and often seek out the wonderful medieval hill towns. When visiting those, there is always a decision to be made. Do you stay farther out in a larger more modern facility (or agricultura - farm stay), or do you stay inside the wall, which is always in a centuries old and charming historic property so thus has size and amenity limitations? We do both quite often. But it is great to be able to just walk out the door and be in the heart of the medieval old town - morning and nights and all day long while being able to take breaks in the room. We took a taxi that had permission to enter the restricted area that dropped us right at the hotel door with our bags and we stayed 3 nights. We had the larger "comfort" room (or Superior, which is the same size) and there was plenty of room to open and store on the floor two suitcases - very clean and comfortable. The staff was great at helping us with advice for traveling in the area. Nice breakfast. Great coffee. This is by far the best hotel inside the walls of fantastic Gubbio. It is right next to the Grand Plaza - the best location in town.
    • Located near Gubbio’s important sights.
    • The property is beautiful and old world. You can almost imagine it as an active palace from many years ago. It has been beautifully restored. Room was small but comfortable. Breakfast was excellent.

    Cons -

    • All is well.
    • Extremely small, cramped room. Property needs updating. No parking nearby.
    • Shower was difficult to operate, instructions would help. some construction noise outside hotel.

    Great location super helpful staff

It was a particularly hot day and the aircon in the room struggles to cool the room to a comfortable level .

    1) the hotel is located near most of the main attraction in town;2) our room had a terrace overlooking the town and surrounding countryside;3) the staff was friendly, professional, and informative;4) the breakfast offerings were generous;5) the hotel has an elevator;6) our room was very quiet.

    1) parking is far from the hotel but the town has a free public minibus that circles the town every 15 minutes and stops near Bosone Palace;2) the hotel should tell customers about the minibus before they travel to the hotel; the receptionist at the hotel told us about the minibus after we had walked from the parking lot to the hotel.

The hotel was in a great location, close to the main square and important sites of interest. The room was comfortable and a good size. Breakfast was a highlight with a large choose of food to cater to all tastes. The staff were polite and helpful with suggestions and happily booked a taxi for an arranged time at the end of my stay.

The room was close to the restaurant and there was a bit of noise at night from patrons. Although the bed was comfortable and a double was requested, there wasn't much room to move along the sides of it.

The location is perfect and the view from the room phenomenal. Hotel is easy to reach by car and friendly staff very helpful in explaining options for free parking.

Breakfast was OK, but there was only very little of everything and scrambled eggs were rather dry. I attribute this to the hotel only having a few guests.

Great old classic hotel, friendly cheerful staff, clean and comfortable room. Very nice breakfast.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Staff were lovely. Rooms confortable. Restaurant excellent.

Town clock ringing every quarter hour. After 2 nights I’d got used to it however.

Our stay was great, however we had to leave a day earlier than planned. I discussed this with Giulia at the Bosone Palace and she said as we had paid Booking.com we should apply to you for a refund for that night.I had trouble finding a way to contact you.

Beautiful style, great central location, lovely friendly staff, great breakfast!

Rooms a little dated, no tea/coffee facilities in room, no view

    7ChrisPosted on: 9-9-2023

Staff were amazing and couldn't have been more helpful. Really good breakfast

Room smelt bad like Vicks vapour rub and bathroom smelt like cigarettes

Location was very good for visiting all the sights of Gubbio. The staff were helpful and polite.Ok breakfast. The restaurant Bosone Gardens, attached to the hotel was very good.

Our room (junior suite) was at the very top of the hotel…. Lift plus two flights of stairs. The room was in need of some tlc and although some update had taken place, it still displayed a distinct lack of attention eg shower seal, shabby sofa bed, scuffed walls. Service trolleys were left in passage ways .The upside was the views from our terrace were lovely. The plunge pool was a bonus, although looked unfinished. … standing on planks of wood. What a pity, this hotel could be special but is definitely in need of investment.

The location is fantastic but the service is excellent. We found everyone delightful and so happy to help.

it’s a little tired but that only adds to the charm. it all very clean.

    7ErnstPosted on: 4-30-2023

    Breakfast is good.

Bring your earplugs. Hotel is in the middle of lot of street noise!

    9NicholasPosted on: 4-10-2023

Beautiful hotel in the best location in Gubbio. The decor is plush and lovely and the staff couldn’t have been nicer, more friendly or more professional. The very helpful lady on reception allowed us to leave our bags and check-in early at 12.00pm because our room was ready.

Small bathroom but very clean and everything worked well.

Disappointed with very small room that lacks character ( palace ?) But beautiful view over Gubbio at very reasonably price.

Friendly and helpful staff. Very elegant reception and public areas. Clean room.

Rooms were a bit tired. Few restaurants open nearby.

Everything exceed our expectations - the room - the bathroom - the garden restaurant - the premises - the staff and the location. We have been travelling all over Umbria and the Bosono Palace goes right to the top!

    Having to leave!!

The hotel is really in the center of the town, from the Funivia parking place it's less than 5 minutes walking. Easy walk. In case you have heavy luggage you can reach it by car. Excellent Continental breakfast. In my case wide bathroom. All the personel really kind and professional
