Lucca Heritage Retreat

Daniella and all the staff were wonderful and very helpful! The room could not have been more comfortable. Bed, shower, all very well worth the money. Breakfast was delicious and there was always something there to pick on in the evening or before going to bed. Will be back for sure.

Nothing. The shower only has a partial enclosure so there was water all over but plenty of towels so no big deal. It is a beautiful bathroom nonetheless.

This is a lovely boutique hotel in a great location. The common areas have been beautifully restored and decorated. We stayed in the apartment which was beside the main building. It was clean and spacious. Breakfast is not included with the apartment, as there is a full kitchen. Bathrobes, slippers and toiletries are a very nice touch.

Unfortunately our stay was in late October and the apartment was freezing. We inquired about the heat, but it was never turned on. We made 2 requests for an additional blanket that never arrived. We used our bathrobes for additional warmth to sleep. The shower is without a door so it was cold and the water sprays out onto the bathroom floor. I’m not sure if the rooms in the main building are heated.

My stay was wonderful. Daniela and the entire staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to assist with arranging transportation and recommending dining and attractions. The resort and rooms are beautifully decorated and meticulously cleaned and maintained. I was traveling alone, but my room (The Lucia) would be spacious two people. I opted to include breakfast with my stay which exceeded my expectations - wide selection of choices - made to order eggs, coffees, juices, fresh fruit and yogurt, egg dishes, etc. Highly recommend. The honey rum in the evening was also a very nice touch. Would definitely stay again on a future trip back to Lucca.

The only issue I had was being able to hear people in either another room, or outside the hotel. Luckily - quieted down in the evening.

Absolutely beautiful property. Very comfortable bedroom. The common sitting area was stunning. Breakfast served every morning was delicious!! And the absolute highlight was the impeccable staff!!!

The temperature in the room was very warm. The air conditioning system had been turned off to allow heating for a chill the prior week. Although the staff worked very hard to get this resolved, it was still a bit warm.

The Property is very central, just 3-4 minutes walk from Piazza San Michelle on one side and same distance from Duomo on the other. The owners are most friendly and helpful and there is definitely a personal touch. The hotel is peaceful and comfortable. I highly recommend it.

Pina and Daniella were wonderful, treating us like family. Rooms and all the lobby areas were beautiful. Honey rum each evening was an unexpected bonus.

Larger cups of cappuccino in the morning ?

This is a fantastic booking in an amazing location with the kindest and most accommodating staff we have ever experienced! The hotel itself is a beautifully appointed villa, but the lovely staff is what makes it special! So many special extras from sunup to sundown. Delicious breakfast with many options ready-to-eat and made to order and self-serve nightcap cookies and liqueur awaiting you before bedtime. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable. Location was private, quiet, and extremely safe. We wanted for nothing. It was perfection and we can't wait to come back!

The hotel was beautifully appointed. The ambience and decor were relaxing and very comfortable. The staff were amazing. Both Pena and Daniela went out of their way to help me contact the airlines and baggage group at the Florence airport when our luggage was lost. They listened to my concerns and offered advice and help when they could. The breakfasts were lovely and the refreshing water and snacks were very appreciated during such hot days of travel.

Our basement room was horrible. The lack of windows made it feel like a cave. The rough, stone floors made us feel as if we were walking on the streets of Lucca. The water from the shower over-sprays onto the stone bathroom floor and leaves puddles of water to walk on until the water seeps into the rough floor. The decor of the room and the linens were very nice but we needed to leave the bathroom light on at night in order to get around the room in the dark. I would consider staying here again but only if an upper room was guaranteed. We were never offered an alternative room.

The style, design, breakfast and staff- all exceptional. We love love this place.

The best thing about Lucca Heritage, are the people.Pina & Daniela were so helpful in finding wonderful restaurants, dry cleaner & even scooters.They made our adventure seamless.With smiles & yummy Americano coffee every morning.Such a delight. The property is set centrally, with everything within a 5 min walk. When you enter, you instantly feel at home in the immaculate foyer.The room was clean & everything we needed.

The stay was amazing, the place is so pretty and really special. The breakfast was so cute and everyone was really attentive to the guests' wishes or needs. The location is very central, within the old city walls so you can just wander around and find tons of nice things right around the hotel! It's all super clean and quite comfortable too!

If I would have to say anything it's a bit more organizing with the arrival and departure to really plan when to arrive and it's a bit harder to get to the hotel because it's so central that cars need special permits to go there but with the help of our hosts it was easily managed and absolutely worth it!!!

The place is gorgeous and in a great location, with super friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Lucca Heritage Retreat is super clean. The entrance living room is very inviting with it's comfortable couches, chairs and beautiful decor. Breakfast is wonderful and the attached outdoor patio is available to sit and relax as well. Lucca Heritage Retreat has many nice touches such as lush robes and slippers and a bed that is very comfortable.

Not a deal breaker but it would be nice to include a hot pot in the room for making tea or just hot water. There is a coffee maker but when used for only hot water, the water was brownish with a coffee flavor. Also, our shower was lukewarm at best so taking a shower had to be quick and not as enjoyable as it could have been for us.

Staff, location and breakfast excellent.Well priced for the quality.

My only small criticism is that the towels were too small!

Everything was so wonderful at this B&B. It was beautiful and in the perfect location. Pina and Daniela were both so sweet and such a pleasure to talk to. The breakfast was delicious and so varied with offerings. The evening rum was delicious (and I'm not a drinker) We really couldn't have chosen a better place to stay and would love to come back!

There was scented fragrance sticks that were quite strong in the living room. It was a nice smell, but maybe lighter would be good for people sensitive to scents. I would still stay again and again!

Of all the places we stayed in Italy for my Mum's birthday trip, this was her favourite (I think it was mine too). Our stay was fabulous! The staff were friendly, helpful but not overbearing. Breakfast was good and varied. Our room was perfect. The complementary sweets/chocolates and honey rum, added an extra special touch to our stay. I wish I had booked further in advance so that we could have stayed for more than one night.

I have no complaints.

Excellent location, close to many sights and restaurants, yet very quiet. Very friendly and helpful staff. A small technical issue was quickly solved. A special mention for Gabriella, who was always smiling and ready to help. The old building is lovingly restored and stylishly decorated. The bed was very comfy, and I enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Although it's not cheap, it's certainly value for money.
