Pros +
- Beautiful villa hotel with a very good restaurant and facilities. It was a great experience relaxing there after a busy day of walking around Lucca.
- Beautiful, classic hotel with a great breakfast and friendly staff.
- The vibe was amazing!! The staff's attentiveness and friendliness were exceptional, including the receptionists and the waiters/ waitress. The ambiance was one of a kind, and the dinners outside, by the villas' garden, with relaxing music, showcased the true sense of life in Tuscany. Breakfast was abundant, offering lactose- and milk protein-free choices, as well as gluten-free options. The restaurant offers many special delicacies. The bed was very comfy, the fridge and kettle were a great plus. The charging station made our trip comfortable, as we didn't have to look for chargers in the city.
Cons -
- 10:00 departure is a little early, that extra hour helps this old lady travel easier. 11:00 is best for me.
- I didn’t like the rooms. I didn’t like the stuff I did not like the ambience.
- Rustic feel in an an absolutely beautiful, tranquil and quit setting. Will stay there again

The property is nice, but the rooms are horrible outdated and dirty full of mosquitos

Old estate built in 1789 that has been renovated into a hotel. Beautiful building that gives you a good idea what it was like back in the day. I short of awesome.

Location definitely met our needs. We wanted something just outside the city with a traditional Tuscan vibe. The staff at Villa Cheli were also very helpful and friendly. Very pet friendly too which made our stay more relaxing.
Breakfast was quite basic with little variety day to day.
Room temperature, cleanliness
Restaurant was closed
location and object
Breakfast at the hotel for 200 eur per day is a disgrace, the only thing that can defend the hotel is the location, the facility and the restaurant, which we could only use on the day of arrival because the rest of the days it was simply closed
The villa is absolutely beautiful.
The location is a little more remote than we had anticipated. A car is a huge advantage. As the villa is built on a very steep hill ,it is not really appropriate for elderly people or anyone with mobility issues. Some of the rooms are further up the hill than the main building and are difficult to walk to in wet conditions.
Top service, very friendly English speaking staff. Great location, historic building with fantastic outside area, well maintained. Good breakfast, free parking.
Beautiful setting, True Tuscan experience. All staff very helpful.Evening young waitresses always smiling and very pleasant. The pool was amazing.
Restaurant closed 3 nights during our 3 week stayRecommended other restaurant and got taxi there but was closed. No tea making facilities on arrival and asked to go to reception to get cups and milk ( told this was probably due to a them used for a wedding. The sun loungers definitely need to have cushions as very uncomfortable
Location
The noise was distressing - we couldn’t sleep as there was a party being held below our room and the noise was very loud
Very helpful staff. Room comfortable and in a good location.
The location is peaceful, pool area wonderful and relaxing and hotel and grounds so charming and beautiful. Cannot fault staff who are all so professional and nothing too much trouble for them. We stayed for a week and ate 4 nights in the restaurant , food was truly excellent. The hotel is dated but that's the whole charm and I would not hesitate to return. Thank you Villa Cheli for making our stay so memorable
We were in a room at the front of the hotel which has a large terrace with table and chairs. Whilst we were told the terrace was for use by just 2 rooms , other guests often spent time there smoking and chatting . I feel a sign should be located to advise the terrace is only accessible for these 2 rooms only. The only natural day light into the room was from a glass panel in the door and the room therefore felt very dark.
The room was spacious and had a fabulous view. The pool area was clean and the hotel in general was clean.
The bed springs were very noisy, which made sleeping challenging at times. The evening restaurant food could only be described as dull, tasteless and disappointing given that we were in Italy. Breakfast was ok, the bread rolls were stale, not all the boiled eggs were cooked, but there were a variety of cakes to choose from.
Location and beautiful villa. Gorgeous views from the pool.
Good location to visit many wine yards. Very close to town centre
Facilities in the room can be improved
Beauyiful building and great swimming pool.
Bed was very comfortable, though the pillows were too hard.
It is for a proper Tuscany experience. The entrance is very charming with the villa view and the hills on the back. Worth for many pictures.Room was clean.Customer service very good.Pool we didn't have the chance to try but it had a nice view of the sunset.
Breakfast can be improved with more variety of choices. Very limited considering the price of the hotel.Missing of slippers in the room.Vibe could be much more better. This expectations are according to the price and the value expected.
The property landscape is beautiful.
This property is rented out for external parties and so they do not care about the hotel clients. Loud music, no place for the clients to park their cars, etc all afternoon, we got back to the hotel at 4:30 to rest and as there was this big party going on (there were more than a hundred cars in the car park) we had to leave our car badly parked as there was no space, we could not rest at all, very loud music, hated this place.
