    Pros +

    • Hotel is located in a beautiful location. Staff are super helpful and friendly. The wellness area and the spa are nice but could use some updating.
    • Superb
    • Wonderful view, comfy beds, large showers, friendly and helpful staff.

    Cons -

    • Our shower made a noise when the water was running. It was also a little rundown. The major thing that we didn't like was the breakfast and the food at the restaurant. For a hotel at this level and considering the fact that there is not much else in the area as far as restaurants, we expected a better quality of food. It was clear that they were not using fresh ingredients which is shocking for Italy where there is an abundance of fresh vegetables, etc.
    • We were at the hotel in early November and at night it got a little warm in the room. Unfortunately the hotel had turned off its air conditioning and we were not able to open our windows because stink bugs came into the room. Otherwise the hotel was excellent.
    • Twin bedded room was a night tight on space.Disabled parking and access was poor.

    Location.

Based on location we expected mountain view. Repeated requests to change room were refused even paying upgrade. Excuses given regarding hosting a wedding, then conference etc please try tomorrow . Perhaps more attention given to guests staying for leisure purposes would have been appreciated. Best to check when booking if room has a view.Roadside signage very poor especially if arriving at night and parking signage very confusing.Food was very good and staff very friendly especially on arrival - (a member of reception staff at check out was quite rude to us apparently we had interrupted their break.!)

We booked a suite which was spacious and well appointed. Our stay was during hot weather and we loved the pool as it was great for relaxing and cooling off. Meals were very good. We had breakfast, a few lunches and one dinner. The wait staff were attentive and friendly.

A few areas where I marked down this hotel.Check in was chaotic. We drove to the resort and had no idea where to park or drop our luggage- signage is poor. We ended up in the staff carpark and lugged our bags up the hill. The clerk at check in seemed quite disinterested in us and didn’t give us any information about the hotel or facilities- not a good start. Our bed was so uncomfortable. The mattress desperately needs replacing. I had a sore back after the second night. A fluffy mattress ‘topper’ does not make up for a mattress well past its ‘use-by’ date. Given we paid for a suite I was not impressed. Also, the shower over a bath in a suite- dangerous getting in and out, nothing to hold on to for safety. Finally, the hotel should run a shuttle bus to the town of Barga. The availability of taxis is a problem and having to book a return in case you can’t get back to the hotel would be resolved with a shuttle minibus. Talking to other guests during the course of our stay we agreed this would be a great service to the customers.

    Beautiful scenery and location.

A shuttle bus to and from the station and into local towns Barga in particular) would have been welcomed. Your taxis were far too expensive.

    Excellent breakfast. Lovely location

The gardens need attention. Dinner portions a little on the small side and expensive. We had an upgrade but it didn’t have the balcony which we booked so a bit disappointed.

Breakfast was very good as was dinner. View from our room was great! Gym was nice.

Parking to check in was a little dicey but we figured it out.

The hotel is situated on the hill top with beautiful views on Tuscany, surrounded by park and forest. It is beautiful, big hotel, consists of many buildings/wings. There is a pool, restaurant, and breakfast is held also outside on the terrace with amazing view. The breakfast is rich, various options also for vegan, gluten free or other diets. Room was beautiful, stylish, big, clean with coffee machine and with the balcony overlooking the valley. Very helpful and friendly staff, free parking is available but it is quite difficult to find it at first (especially in the evening). It was really an amazing stay.

Staff were excellent and always helpful especially Angela at Breakfast, Maria on Reception and Achille at the Pool. The view was breathtaking.

Not enough variety on the Dinner menu which didn’t change.Rooms are looking a little tired. The mattress on the beds need changing. One of the lifts was out of order for half of our stay.

    6LaraPosted on: 7-10-2023

It had beautiful views from the terrace and outside pool. The indoor swimming pool was heated which was excellent as we were travelling with a small baby. The lady on reception was very helpful.

It is mainly a hotel for large conferences or weddings so you tend to feel second rate guests if you are not part of them.

    10MichaelPosted on: 6-28-2023

Baby friendly and great buffet breakfast.

The price of the restaurant food is high for the quality.

    6LilyPosted on: 6-5-2023

    1) Lovely room (we had a suit) 2) food was amazing (expensive but worth it)3) views were unreal & beautiful4) the pool area was lovely and relaxing 5) very romantic

    1) the service was not to the level of what you would expect for that hotel and the price you pay (no one at the bar, no pool service & half the staff couldn’t speak English / didn’t understand simple requests)2) top tip: check if there is a wedding on. blaring music all night (luckily our room was far away but heard others complaining of music till 6am) - bring your ear plugs!! They also took priority at the bar / breakfast (we weren’t allowed their potato rostis or mushrooms!)3) the 1am fire alarm was not ideal (set off by a wedding guest because of smoking) no direction of whether to vacate / the procedure. the morning staff had no idea it happened

The location on the top of a hill ensures a very nice panorama view. The breakfast and the courses served on the restaurant were well presented and tasty.

The bathroom needs a total modernization, since there wasn´t hot water coming out the shower. The garage's access is vey tight for big cars.

The welcome staff was ok. Location is a wow! The building is well equipped and the view was fantastic! The restaurant top! Only the Spa lacks of most of the spa equipments! I was with a friend of mine and we really enjoyed…see you soon!

The spa area doesn’t value the hotel group standards
