    Pros +

    • The location was perfect and the front desk staff was friendly and helpful.
    • Location was great, food options were wonderful. Brunch right after breakfast is the best idea ever.
    • Location to ferry hopper and restaurant on site. We enjoyed happy hour upon arrival .

    Cons -

    • Room was a bit claustrophobic for me without much of a view, bathroom had drainage issues.
    • We didn’t know that there was no elevator so we should have requested lower level rooms. We did have assistance from staff checking in.
    • - The city doesn't permit car access to the hotel so that guests can leave luggage. We don't blame hotel for this inconvenience. However, we would expect heads up so we could better prepare ourselves. We only got the following information where they inform us about free parking: "For guests staying at the Valamar Riviera Hotel & Residence, parking is ensured in the Žatika parking, 1 km away (address: Karla Huguesa 26, Poreč) at the price of € 5 per day." - Bread that was served during breakfast wasn't fresh.

Breakfast very good. Enjoyed champagne and snacks in the afternoon. Nice hotel but room small.

    10KirstenPosted on: 5-5-2025

This property was in a great location and had excellent services. We enjoyed the champagne in the afternoon and a fantastic breakfast.

The lighting over the sink in the bathroom was not great. For the ‘double bed’ they just pushed two beds together with no effort to make it one. We have had this situation before but they put linens on so there it was more like a double bed. Saying that the beds are comfortable ?

Friendly helpful staff. Good location with disabled parking at hotel.

We loved the breakfast and brunch. Food was amazing and the staff was so helpful. The room was lovely and very clean.

Location, breakfast & brunch was exceptional!!

Aircon in room TOO hot! When phoning to ask for this to be rectified, were told to open the window - which we had to do, but resulted in SUPER noise, as there were a bar and walking alley directly below our room.

Swimming in the Adriatic from the island and the pool.

One of the two bedrooms reeked of cigarette smoke. I woke up congested and with a headache. I had to sleep on the sofa bed in the kitchen the second night. When I asked the staff if there was anything they could do they offered to spray it to cover the stink - something like putting perfume on after a good workout to disguise the odor. It doesn’t work. The hotel might be 4 stars but the apartment was most certainly not. It was tired looking and in need of an update. We had a kitchen but no coffee maker. When I asked for a coffee maker I was told our apartment wasn’t eligible for one. I was also reminded the website doesn’t indicate a coffee maker to which I replied it doesn’t indicate no coffee maker and it does indicate a kitchen. I would think a coffee maker would automatically be included in a kitchen. I was wrong.

Excellent location! Nice spacious room. Great shower.

Not the view that we anticipated (described as view of the old city).

The reception staff were really friendly and thorough and our room was amazing! Layout, decor and cleanliness were all top notch. We had the breakfast buffet the next day and there was a LOT of choice/options. They also held our bags for the day while we explored around town.

    No suggestions.

This was a one bedroom apt with two extra beds in the living room and a kitchen with table and chairs. The location was very good, just a short walk to the port and the town centre. The apt was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and we were not bothered by street noise or other tenants. Upon arrival our wifi and tv were not working. They send a technician who had to get a part. We had wifi the following day. They were kind enough to give us a 10% discount on our stay for the inconvenience. This hotel also has a private island resort that we had access to via a 5 min free ferry ride. The island is surrounded by beaches, has a hiking trail and an enchanted forest for the kids. There were also lots of swimming pools but we did not have access to those and it was too cold so they were all shut down. In warmer weather it would have been a great way to spend a day relaxing. We paid for the breakfast buffet at the hotel and it was amazing. Lots of choices. Everything looked so fresh.

We thought we had booked a suite in the hotel however we found out that what we got was an apartment separate from the hotel. It was down the street and around the corner. Perhaps a five minute walk from the hotel. Wished I knew that we would have to lug our suitcases up three flights of stairs. Thankfully they sent a young man to help. I didn't like that the other two beds were in the living room so you literally were sitting on someone's bed if you wanted to watch TV.

    Central seafront location, comfortable room.

Arrived fairy late via ferry and booked property close to ferry arrival point for ease of check-in. Hotel required for check-in had closed for season the previous day and so check-in had moved to a car park towards the outer part of the town. Information about check-in seemed very geared towards guests arriving with a car and there was information about location of check-in which was contradictory across messages, with arrangements in regards to the shuttle service not communicated. I would suggest guidance for guests arriving out of season via public transport could be clearer and check-out could be streamlined as it required waiting 30 mins for the shuttle service to collect the property key. Probably much less of an issue for guests staying for a longer period, but as I was staying for less than 24 hours in Porec, it felt like the check-in/check-out took a bit too long.

Central location. The staff that I did meet were all lovely.

The hotel was closed and we were relocated to a single room.

As the resort on the nearby island is a Valanar resort, we were able to use the ferry to the island, use the hotel towels, hang out at the gorgeous beaches and use the pool and water slides. Was super fun for both kids and adults!!

The location was excellent. Nice to be able to visit the nearby island.

First impressions were not good and this theme continued with poor customer service throughout. The hotel was closing down and they were only interested in when we were checking out. They even asked us our check out time before we had checked in! The apartment was very dated and various items did not work. Would not recommend this hotel even for a cheap price- go somewhere else.
