Great location - proximity to Berchtesgaden and Eagle's Nest without parking/crowd issues of Berchtesgaden.

Beautiful, clean, amazing location, outstanding breakfast and friendly , helpful hosts.

Had a little problem with the room we booked but that was due to Booking.com, Host definitely made up for Booking.com's mistake. Host and hostess were outstanding. Daily breakfast was excellent. Had dinner there twice and the same applied, excellent! Very clean and well kept property. Owners dog was so sweet and friendly.

A/C would have been nice but understand with location and elevation, maybe a fan in the room to circulate the air in the room.........my only negative.

Beautiful hotel with an excellent friendly staff. Breakfast was great with many options and the location was also convenient to many of the local attractions, but secluded enough to have some peace and quiet if you wanted.

Beautiful location, local hiking, good food, helpful staff

I was travelling by public transport. The bus schedule up to Oberau was limited but with some planning it all worked out.

The staffs there are very nice. The food was also very good.The hotel is on a mountain. it is very good to stay for a few days and enjoy the peace there.But DO the trip by car. it is impossible to go there by publich transport.BTW, DONT trust google map to go there via the street "Mühlauer Freie". it is a very very very steep road. (>25 degree I believe)please, go there via the "Weißensteiner Weg"! that is much easier!

Beautiful location, perfect small hotel with restaurant, quiet. The owners are friendly and kind. Breakfast very good.

Very homely atmosphere, very friendly and welcoming hosts, great food

The staff was really nice and welcoming, the room was big and comfortable. The breakfast was filling and the dinning room was big. We ate dinner that was served with 5 star restaurant service.

The road to the hotel at night is pitch black and a bit complicated if you are not from the area, but not impossible to find. There is no fridge in the room but the hotel provide anything you need in the restaurant.

The grounds of the hotel and the outside courtyard were very beautiful. They served cocktails in the courtyard every night until 10:00 p.m. The breakfast was good as well, very generous!

Lots of stairs. Not much parking. Pretty remote.

Evening meal was set price with limited options and musical entertainment not to our taste but could not be avoided as no where else to go that was walking distance.

Everything was great. The location was perfect for us. The room and bed were very comfortable. The owners were wonderful people. We loved their dog Lily. Breakfast was amazing.

Great location with a beautiful view and amazing hosts. Breakfast was really good with local ingredients and homemade food. There is a bar open until 10 PM and they also offer to prepare dinner for a great price.

This hotel never let us down at all. Friendly english speeking, fantastic view from room and well appointed. A car is a must to reach this hotel, would definitely return..

Nothing. This hotel has every thing you wanted.

The scenery is very good and the breakfast is high quality. The owner is friendly and borrowed me a charger. You can mail the postcard in the hotel too. I love the decoration, especially the floral curtains.

It is not friendly with the traveller without a car. Only a bus which takes you to the hotel from the train station every hour. Also, the hotel is on the hillside, so it is a little bit exhausting to walk to the hotel from the bus stop.

Hosts were great. Very welcoming and allowed us to change rooms. Loved room 15 which had a balcony and panoramic mountain views. Breakfast was good with two hot egg dishes (scrambled with cheese and over easy on a tomato slice). Each day there was a different fruit and pastry. On days when dinner is served, the menu is placed on the breakfast tables so that guests can decide whether they would like to dine. Several vegetarian options were available the night we had dinner. We enjoyed two very thin crust “pizzas” (can’t recall correct term), both of which were delicious. Enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner on the patio.

The included breakfast was excellent and the owners were very kind.

Beautiful Location, Peaceful and Tranquil

On the first morning we went down for breakfast at 7:27, we were informed by the host breakfast was 7:30! If you're German, Swiss etc you can turn-up at 7:10 onwards, no problem. Menus in German, decidedly German for the Germans.
