Pros +
- Large, comfortable, close to everything, friendly staff
- The location is good, in old part of the town.
- Location was fairly good, about a 30 minute walk from the train station and about 15 min from the bus stop. There was one staff member who did not speak English but was friendly and willing to work with the little Spanish we knew, the other staff members were able to speak English and were very friendly. Clean, accommodating, and nice views.
Cons -
- All good
- Hardly can get a shower because of all the calcar in the hols of the shower head. I bought a new one. Lizards and cockroach on the terrace. Ants in the room.
- I noticed they did not sweep in the bathroom the entire time we were there, however the rest of the room was very clean. The elevator was a bit slow, but it did have to go all the way to the 7th floor, so fair.

Location. Recepción, Maria was Fantastic. A live person at a reception desk is rare.
Clean and well reurbished rooms and helpful staff.
Breakfast started late at 9am
Nice location, rooftop view was nice, large comfortable bed.
The shower head was set up poorly, shot water out of the tub. It should have been on the other wall.
The location is very good for visiting the cathedral and the historic part of Jaén. Wonderful view from the terrace in the evening. The hotel staff were extremely helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
The hotel itself is quite tired and quite a few things didn't work too well. The 1 euro charge for a hot drink was annoying and the terrace just had 12 chairs. The paint work was tired. We moved rooms as the air con in the first didn't work but in the second room the bathroom door handle didn't work too well, the bathroom smelt awful and the actual room smelt horribly of polish we think. It was quite hot and stuffy so we needed the air con. One of the bedside lights wouldn't fully turn off at night. The location made it worthwhile but it wasn't a great stay!
The receptionist was very friendly.
The room was very disappointing, the ac remote didn't work I had to press the button on the ac itself to turn it on and I couldn't adjust it, the ground was clearly dirty and there was only one wall outlet to use. The bathroom hygiene was terrible there was ants on the ground the bathtub had a hole next to the draining hole, there also wasn't soap to wash hands although there was a hair brush, body soap and a shampoo bottle.
Location, pleasant hotel. Good parking..Central location
Not enough personal staff service. Reception excellent but very few other staff, too much reliance on self service machines.
Location is greatGood price
A bit ageing
Friendly and very helpful staff Location perfect
Hot drink facilities in room. Would have been willing to pay more for breakfast if drinks were not in vending machine and a little more choice. Surprised there was no bar but one next door was very good.
Great location and ok hotel but difficult to drive to and find. Staff very nice.
My god finding the parking was a nightmare- we drove round 2/3 times as there was building works going on and we were not sure where we could drive. It took nearly 2 hours to park and find the hotel :(
Location, professional staff at the reception, parking (even if it is not for free), correct quality for a 3-star hotel
Construction noises, noises from the square, getting a third-floor room instead of one that is higher.
Location
There is currently building work next door to the hotel, starts 7am finishes 6pm and it is loud.. anyone booking should be aware and ask
i was apprehensive about staying in this hotel because it had some bad reviews. Most of the reviews were either very bad or great which was puzzling. I booked it because it was the only hotel available in the center of town. I was delighted to find that this hotel is great. All my fears were allayed when I entered my warm, comfortable, light-filled room. The sun was pouring in and I had a view of the nice little plaza at the front of the hotel. There was a large, tiled bathroom with a bathtub, The hotel decor is pleasant with a lot of lovely pantings and bits of antique furniture. The roof area is amazing. Part of it has a roof with tables, chairs, a bar, and a bathroom. The other part is open decking. The view of the Cathedral and mountains is fabulous. The hotel is in a great location - in the center of the old town - close to all the important sights. It is a tall thin hotel with about 3 rooms on every floor. There are 8 floors (inluding the roof)Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would have liked coffee in the room, as is usually the case in the UK and US, but there is a coffee machine downstairs in the lobby. The coffee cost 1 euro and was free in the morning. I don't know if that is always the case. This hotel is great and I feel lucky that I got to stay there. I particulary appreciated that it was so warm because my rental house in Granada is very cold. This is February so heat is important. The Xauen hotel deserves a much better score on Booking.com.
Very centrally located. Perfectly good bedrooms. Pleasant and efficient staff.
Being a city centre property, getting to it is a bit of work but can't be helped !
The position of hotel is in the centre. Everything is reachable easily and quickly.
The walls are too thin. Basically I could hear everything from the neighbouring room, even quiet talk.
I loved the helpful staff and the close proximity to many places. Perfect. Location if I say so.
The calefactor wasn't working. The bathroom was kind of horrible. The curtain was outside the bathroom, so all the floor got wet when I showered.
the friendliness and the service
the rooms need to be remodeled, a window didn't have a lock, and there were some ants in the room where I was.
Central location
Difficult to find, drove round the city several times following several different satnavs to find it.
