Hotel Harzer am Kurpark

Very large room, large balcony, nice view.

Light in the elevator was flickering/not working well.

The breakfast buffet was plentiful even for a vegetarian like me. There were fresh fruits, freshly baked breads and loved the cherry jam. Dinner was excellent and the staff also was accommodating to fix a meal for my dog. The location is perfect, walking distance to the river, main street and race course. The room was bright and clean and quiet and comfy.

Location was central, the room was spacious

The reception was not there at all. You need to pick up your key from a safe below and receive the code per What's Up. The breakfast was a tray of packed food that was put inside the room. No canteen.

Bad

Everything. Hotel with old furniture, it feels like you go back in time in the 80s. Pool not functional with cold as ice water. I do not recommend it! It was a very bad experience. We left after first night and they do not want to return the money. Unprofessional staff and awful management that does not care about customers.

The parking! Very narrow to an elevator. Then down to basement. I was charged 10 euro to park.

The smell at the hotel was awful!! It was dingy and the parking situation was ridiculous!

Good location and I think nothing else

Problems with staff asking to pay city tax and for car parking. It's fine if you from germany but if not you in trouble you do international transfer and its takes 2 days to receive money's hotel staff still asking to pay your bills but you already done payment but germany people can't understand what takes 2 days to see money's you can sorted this problem two ways longer open hours in reception so you can pay when arriving or add all prices on booking. Com portal.

Centrally located and quite close to train station and bus station . Also close to tourist information centre.

The front office reception was difficult to find when I reached late 20:00 for checkin, it was on second floor with no indication on the ground floor, by trial had to check out second floor after finding no office on first floor but they were helpful by waiting beyond their regular time.

The reception staff does not speak English. In the morning on the day of arrival, we sent an inquiry to the hotel's email about checking in to the hotel, but no one responded to our inquiry. Unfriendly and unprofessional staff.

The Staff is really nice and there is a water kettle and tea available at every floor. The room is quite big with a balcony and there is a nice view of the city and forest if you choose a front room.

Some of the rooms are quite ugly with updated furniture, but the recepcionist was very nice and we could choose a room we liked most. There was a cleaning product smell that did not go away even after keeping the window opened all day. During the day it can get quite noisy due to the round about situated in front of the hotel, but you have a nice view :)

The hotel is well located and the room I had was quiet.

I could not swim because the pool was 15 degrees. Too cold.

Great location good breakfast. Friendly staff. My room had a fridge! It Was a large room with a large window. I expected less because some of the past reviews. But one needs to remember, when a hotel puts in new carpets & New furniture-- the price will go up. This hotel is priced low, because it hasn't up graded everything.

I could not find any English channels on the TV. And the front desk closes after 7 pm. For a 70 yr old solo lady, - it is nice to think someone is there.

The car park is public 10 minutes walk to the hotel. Our room was very nice with balcony, but facing the street and traffic started very early on (6am), the hotel window are not well insulated for the noise.I would suggest to book a room at the back.

The hotel is located at a 10 minutes walk from the train/tram station. There are also a few restaurants close by. The view from the balcony was really nice. The staff were also very helpful. Bonus is the tram ride from the Karlsruhe hbf to the Bad Herrenalb hbf.

Breakfast very basic

Hotel did not have a restaurant even though it was stated in the booking site. Hotel swimming pool was very cold, basically unusable. Hotel was very tired in decor and furnishings and needed updated
